Oh man, I’m excited to hear that. We are coming up on our second summer in our home and I’m just now getting around to lawn care catch up that the previous owner neglected a little bit. Our backyard is totally taken over by crabgrass, and it is atrocious. I just sprayed my entire property today. So far, I haven’t seen any results on the crabgrass, but the dandelions are already wilted and starting to turn white.

Great video. I use tenacity in my lawn each spring on clover crabgrass and especially dandelions. Works like a charm. Give it a few days for them to turn white and dandelions curl up but works great. Grass will grow out and after a few mows your lawn looks great for season. I live in WI and after 6 summers I swear by this product

Great job George. Your videos are of such a great help. Keep up the good work. I’m new to lawn care and I’m looking to fix my lawn. I need some desperate guidance here please. I’m in Connecticut and I know it’s already October and I’m a little late. My lawn has a good amount weeds ( crabgrass, ground ivy, etc…). I have kbg in the front and ryegrass in the back. Temperature here is 59-70. I was thinking on applying tenacity and then over-seed, but I’m not sure if only one application of tenacity will be enough or I’ll need a second one before I over-seed. I want to over-seed my lawn but I also want to try get rid of the weed situation I have. Which one should I prioritize first with the time that I have left before winter comes? Or maybe I can do both at the same time? Also, would you recommend over-seeding with kbg or perennial ryegrass?

I live in Sacramento Valley in Cali. Its late April.
I'm about to re built my lawn essentially from scratch. Going from Fescue to Bermuda. I know Tenacity isnt good for bermuda, but i dont want to seed for another month. Here's my issue:
I have a Fescue lawn thats about 70% crabgrass, 10% weeds, 10% Fescue (at least thats how it seems... 😂)
    Hypothetical plan:
Week 1: mow low. Treat with tenacity. No water.
Week 2: mow low. aerate lawn well. Rake evenly and mix in top soil. Treat everything with tenacity again. No water.
    Week 3: Nothing.
Week 4: mow if needed. Feed soil with fert. Light aeration. Rake evenly. Water.
Week 5: light top application of fert, begin seeding with BERMUDA. Water.
Cross fingers Tenacity doesn't interfere with Bermuda germination at that point. It would be 3 weeks after application.
Is this a crazy idea? It would put seeding at about the end of May, which puts the weather and soil temp between 55 and 80 degrees. But full sunlight all day.
Im tired of this crabgrass lawn. Fescue just sucks in a back yard too.

Hi I really am happy you have done these vids thanks ! Helping us mere mortals out when trying to kill weeds in our lawns ourselves now with that said i'd like some assistance here if possible my lawn is right near the Metra tracks here in Chicago so we get all types of weeds seeing as how Metra doesn't care for the used to be grass near our home which we have to maintain. For years all i did was cut the weeds and left over grass now i'm trying to take over the weeds and revert all of the area back to grass using Tenacity my question is can I treat this weed infested lawn ..LOL!! with this Tenacity then begin to reseed or overseed to get grass to fill in and recapture this lawn or do i have to reseed 1st then apply Tenacity. I have no clue as to what grass to seed with either but I do know iIjust want to have decent grass any recommendations ? It's so many different weeds out there I' m not sure what all of them are and most likely we've got all 40 of the weeds that Tenacity kills probably more. Also you made a video where you mixed Ammonium sulfate to boost the power of the store brought weaker herbicide could i mix this with Tenacity or just use the tenacity only and don't worry about the ammonium sulfate which I did purchase and was gonna use but I decided to just go all the way and use the most potent herbicide I can cause these weeds are brutal here in our yard I've never seen these type weeds ever in my life on youtube or off, shoot the way they are they may uproot and walk run away from the Tenacity LOL!! I make make a video so you can see what i'm saying about our yard it is off the chain, if i do i'll def send it to you you can see all of what we have going here. Please advise thanks !

Taking my chances with tenacity and speedzone as the weeds come. Just want to get roots deep. Also setting timers from 20 min a zone every other day to 2 hrs a zone once a week to drive roots. Also picked up 20 bags of purely organic for 3 bucks a bag along with humic coated urea for the spring break throw down.

Good video. I used Tenacity last year for the first time. Was a little late for my zone (Central Texas), so I had some white spots. I'm watching videos now because I'll probably be spraying next month. Weeds get going here about a month before the grass takes off. What I can say is that, after the white spots grew out, my lawn looked better than it ever had and was nearly weed free (I missed some spots). Tenacity is a great product, but I recommend reading up on it as much as you can because it's not really supposed to be a "consumer" product. It works by choking off the photosynthesis process and that keeps new weeds (Seed borne) from being able to grow. It's also why your grass will turn white if you spray it on your lawn when it's "awake".

    Hello sir
I removed my lawn because I had a lot of crab grass. Most of the new lawn grew before the winter but I still got some spots that need to grow. Should I spray tenacity early spring or should I spray prodiamine?

Will Tenacity stop poa anna from germinating? How long after applying Tenacity do I need to wait before overseeding? How long after grass seed germinates should I wait before applying a second application of Tenacity? The only advice I would recommend is measure out your dye and surfactant by precise amounts this way you won"t use more than is necessary. Otherwise your video is very informative.

    • @PrincessCutLawnCare
      @PrincessCutLawnCare  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes it will prevent it when used as a preemmergent. Tenacity is the the only herbicide/preemmergent that you can use before, after and even During overseeding. And wait 30 days before second application. Thanks for watching:)
