WARNING: Extremely Potent Herbicide combo that kills 99% of weeds with RESULTS

  • Do you have a lawn FULL of WEEDS? Watch this.
    In this video, we show you how to use an extremely potent weed killer herbicide combo that is guaranteed to knock out most, if not ALL your weeds.
    The first herbicide in the mix is Speedzone Weed Killer . SpeedZone Herbicide does a great job killing broadleaf weeds fast such as dandelions , clover , ground ivy , goose grass and spurge. You can literally see the effects of speedzone in just a few hours and major visible damage overnight. Also it can be used in both warm season and cool season grass. It is rain proof in just 3 hours from the time of application but it is best not to irrigate for at least 24 hours. It is also worth noting if you have an excessive amount of dandelions in your lawn then speedzone is the answer on how to get rid of dandelions in lawn .
    The second herbicide we add to the mix is tenacity (WARNING: not for use in warm season lawns). Tenacity Herbicide is both a pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide and can control control over 46 broadleaf and grassy weeds. Today we will be applying it for its post emergent effects because our goal is to kill weeds on contact. Tenacity is great to use as a preemergent while seeding new grass as it is the only herbicide that can be applied during seeding. The active ingredient Mesotrione kills weeds by preventing photosynthesis in the weeds which leads to them bleaching out, turning white and eventually death. Tenacity is effective at controlling crabgrass crab grass, barnyard grass, buffalo grass, chickweed, clover, dandelion, foxtail, henbit and nutsedge. Since speedzone targets broadleaf weeds, we will primarily be adding tenacity to get rid of the grassy type weeds.
    The reason we add both of these herbicides together is to get both broadleaf weed and grassy weed coverage in one sprayer tank. We also add a surfactant to help relieve the surface tension of water so we can get more uniform coverage and long term penetration of the herbicides. Also added to the mix is a blue dye to indicate where we sprayed so we don’t accidentally do double passes, which can lead to injury of the grass. Spraying these two herbicides is a highly effective form of weed control , but it is always better to prevent weeds in the early spring and fall by applying a pre-emergent instead of dealing with existing weeds already attacking your lawn.

      @@PrincessCutLawnCare Standard North Eastern mix, nothing special. I was amazed how the weeds would turn white and comeback anyway with a vengeance.
      Imo the best way is to do a controlled burn of the dry tach , then a light layer of soil and a reseeding. A Propane torch works very well too.

      Drive XLR8 needs to have Prime Source Duo Stick added.
      That is similar to a Surfactant but an MSO one for Drive 8.
      I only use XLR8 for Crabgrass & in areas that are not my
      best lawn like the back yard not the front yard.
      I found that you Do Not want to Mix any other product with
      XLR8 or you will kill good lawn.
      I have used Prodiamine & XLR8 in the back yard which isn't
      very good lawn & that works from Nov thru Feb to try & eliminate
      some weeds prior to the next growing season.

    • @FTHRTime1
      @FTHRTime1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@smokes8759 tenacity is perfectly fine to apply at seeding, the label specifies so. So long as temps are below 90F and the grass isn’t overly stressed you should be able to make the tenacity and speedzone application mid august and do your seeding / final tenacity application on or just before Labor Day.
      Alternatively if you’re gonna do spring seeding and you know you dealt with a bunch of weeds last year then your first herbicide application should be by the end of March, then you seed / 2nd application mid April.

    Hi George - great video! You've really improved things on the post-production side. I've used Weed-Be-Gone before with some success but haven't invested in Tenacity or Speedzone yet. I'll look into them before spring 2023. Thanks again.

    So glad when I retired that I moved out of the city and onto some acreage in the boonies, where I can let most of my property go back to natural and just keep the yard for 40' around the house cut short. Letting the grass that was there (seeded and wild) grow without cutting, looks to have crowded out the weeds, or at least towers over them where they're not noticeable and don't spread as much. I'll have to knock it down (2 acres) this fall, probably 2 passes with the rider, but saved me mowing 1x/week for 6+ months. Another consideration, as often as I mowed with all the clover and flowering weeds (dandelion, catsear, wild daisies, etc.), I was destroying the forage of beneficials (bees, etc.), killing snakes, frogs, rodents that venture onto the land from neighboring forest areas, etc. The abundant deer who grazed everywhere on the property would then come right up to the house and destroy the shrubs and aborvitae - so letting so much of the land go natural gave them back their natural habitat and they don't graze the flower beds around the house nearly as much. I'm SO glad not to have to play "nicest yard on the block" city games any more.

      @kylehilfiger2249 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Chris. I had a lot of clover last year and I'm sure your looking into more too, but some things I found along the way:
      Absolutely must be using a surfactant, clover is really oily and repels sprays without it.
      It thrives in low nitrogen soil so check your soil status with a soil test.
      Best of luck!

    • @michaellane203
      @michaellane203 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also it might be cheaper to use a product like speed zone on clover rather than Tenacity and like the other person said a surfactant is a must have for clover. You can also spike the mix with a little nitrogen to improve the results but becareful not to use too much. Good luck!

    Great informative video! I live in Northern Florida and the weeds are horrible. I've been using 2-4-D mixed with sticker in a tote container that is mounted on a small trailer that I pull behind my tractor or 4 wheeler. I spray my fence line and the heavily populated weed areas. The 2-4-D combined with sticker works fantastic on the wait a minute vines. In about 3 weeks you start seeing results. On the lawn I use lesco fertilizer plus herbicide as a pre emergent and also spray with celcius mixed with sticker.
