      @@OnHawaiiTime we have never been to Hawaii before! We chose this property strictly because we play the Hyatt loyalty point game, but we are very excited! We will be bringing our 2 children with us as well. We currently have a helicopter tour booked through Island Helicopters, it would be so awesome if Brodi was our pilot!

    Happy Anniversary, you guys have the best staycation options :)
    The Grand Hyatt is a beautiful property, I definitely would like to stay there. I believe there is a public path down by the beach and goes along the cliffs - maybe I am thinking of something else.
    The upgrade package does sound like a great deal, especially if you know you will be hanging around the hotel. I am a bit more of an adventurer and would be out exploring the island but I know lots of friends who like to decompress and would be more than happy to never leave the property.
    Hope you took some time to relax and unwind :D

    • @OnHawaiiTime
      @OnHawaiiTime  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aloha Ray!! Thank you for always watching! Yes there is a path along the water and it links up to the green belt and you can walk all the way to Poipu Beach! Maybe we'll do a video about that one of these days. I definitely agree with you about getting off property but I think if you're going to splurge to stay at the Hyatt for a couple of days of your vacay then stay right on property and take full advantage of everything they have to offer. If I was visiting I'd split up the trip and take a couple days here....maybe the last couple of days...to unwind. We definitely took full advantage and there was a lot of relaxing and unwinding....even when I had to head into Lihue to teach a spin class I still came back and relaxed, haha!

    Great video and tour! On our annual trip to Kauai we usually stay at the Kiahuna Plantation and/or the Marriot Timeshare next door but your tour of the Grand Hyatt has given us incentive to try that next. Have been through the property many times during Marathon Expo and visits to Shipwreck Beach but have never stayed or dined there. We appreciate the insight! Love your channel and would be great to meet you on our next trip just to say a quick Aloha!

    I think the Hyatt used to supply the towels for the entire south side condo community. But they have new grey towels now. Time to upgrade :). I think the big value for the Hyatt is the nightly Hawaiian music at 5pm and new bands at 7:30. And the luau on Sundays and Thursdays. Expensive and the food is, well, as expected. But the entertainment is good. For the kids, talk to the parrots at 10am. For the single visitor ladies, the outdoor bar is where the local business guys go to offer free tours during your off time from you conference. I go to the bar because it is the only place I can watch a game and spend $16 for a mai tai plus tip. I walk to/past the Hyatt a couple times a week and it is one professional place.

    The Grand Hyatt is pure magic... absolutely love the property and the amenities!
    One of my favorite memories there is having my first mai tai on island after arriving from Oakland while listening to live music on the grand balcony... I still have a picture of that drink... LOL 😂

      @@OnHawaiiTime we really hope not, obviously for the state of Hawaii and those who call the islands home. But also because we really want to get back! We're supposed to be on the big island at the end of September/beginning of October for our anniversary.
      Do you know how much of the tourism aspect of Hawaii is opening? Especially things like botanical gardens, golf courses, and shops and markets?

    The grounds at the Hyatt are so gorgeous! We stayed at a property next door and took daily walks through the pool areas...dreaming of staying there. I appreciate the room for after checkout. Our flight was at 8pm but checkout at the hotel was 11am. It would have been nice to have a place to put our bags instead of carrying them around in our rental car.

    • @andrewzenn1719

      There are some influencer reviews of koloa landing. Koloa landing is a condo village with a really nice water area. There are little drink and sandwich area near the pools. Cannot drink you own liquor even if you own there. The pools are the nicest condo pools in poipu. No immediate access to ocean, not that you can get into the ocean at the Hyatt There are more restaurants near koloa landing, but then hyatt is only a mile further on the same road.. koloa landing has alot of kids more so than the Hyatt
      The Hyatt has more ammenities as it is a resort, koloa landing is really limited in space but very new. People can live full time at koloa landing, but most of the units are owned off island . Koloa landing is like a timeshare , a very nice one. At koloa landing, you will still go to poipu beach. You can stay at the hyatt without leaving if you have the food and drink budget I think in both cases there is an additional $45 to $75 a day resort fee that sometimes doesn't get quoted up front .

But donderos recently has got a really good chef so I like just getting a huge lamb meatball with a side of pasta and then having their amazing dessert. However I generally eat at Seaview Terrace because it’ has amazing food live music every night and reasonable prices and you get, Kamaina discount 🤙🏼 I’ve known Alejandro for years since when are used to work there 20 years ago super nice guy great server

    Great new video, Autumn and Brodi. The Grand Hyatt is one of the nicest places to stay on the island. Question for you. I heard from a friend that watching the full ads before enjoying a TH-cam video (i.e., not clicking on the "skip ad" button) helps the TH-camr financially. Is that true? Is it helpful for you guys if we let the ad play out before enjoying your video? Just wondering, because if that's true, I'll gladly do it. Sending you aloha from the Bay Area.

    • @OnHawaiiTime
      @OnHawaiiTime  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aloha Chip!! Thank you so much for always being so supportive and positive!! I think that watching the full ads does actually help so if you can handle watching them all the way through we'd be ever so grateful!!

  • @andrewzenn1719
    @andrewzenn1719 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think it would be nice to break down the hotel classes on the island. The resort class, (Hyatt and St Regis), hotel class ( Marriot, Sheraton), nice condo resorts (koloa landing, etc) typical condo (poipu sands, poipu Kai) cheap condo (pono Kai) traditional hotels (hotel Corel reef, hotel lani) and other (Kauai palms ) and the Airbnb condos, and the illegal airbnd places outside visitor zones. Finding a place to stay is always a struggle when you don't pick/afford the Hyatt

    • @OnHawaiiTime
      @OnHawaiiTime  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aloha! Thank you for watching! Nope, not sponsored by the hotel. We paid for our stay, dinner and the spa all on our own dime. We were comped the Grand Club though through a friend which was very nice of them. It is a very pricy hotel so I couldn't imagine staying here for more than a couple of days but if you want to splurge then maybe add it as a 1 or 2 night stay with the rest of your time at more economical accommodations..haha!
