  • The Apple Card has been my most used credit card since Apple announced it four years ago, with a simple and fast interface, easy to understand payments, and a quick reward system that gives you a decent 2% unlimited cash back with Apple Pay. Like any other apple product though, Apple has constantly added updates to the Apple Card, and now with new features like a 4.15% high yield savings account, you need to apple for an Apple Card, right now.

I haven’t even taken the titanium card out of its packaging since it’s only 1%. And yes, started moving over any savings that I won’t need in the next month or so that’s not currently slated to be invested elsewhere, into Apple’s HYSA. Love that it’s easy, clear, and a competitive APR. I was in credit card debt for years and years. Thanks to the big A, I finally paid it off, and plan on keeping it that way. It’s a new game, like closing rings on Apple Watch. Avoid interest at all costs. Even with inflation and just now seeing it reflected in egg and fish prices, it’s moderating spending to accommodate. And it’s nice to see the $ every month accruing interest in the HYSA (only one month so far, but that’s what made me realize I should put more in there compared to the measly .01% of the previous bank.)

I’ve had my apple card since August 2022, im going on a full year of ownership pretty soon and it’s a very solid card and I like all the cash back offers that it has especially the 3% back that even my discover card doesn’t give me with its cash back offers. Started with $2,500 limit and it’s since been raised to $2,750 over all trying to get it higher than that especially for trying to get a MacBook at some point in the future

    • @_aisolo
      @_aisolo ปีที่แล้ว +11

So i vary it....i got mines back in December of 2021.... so year and half then i've had it. Discover can offer 5% cash back actually.
i use my apple watch for all payments comes in clutch. the 2% & 3% cash back are great especially now automatically going into savings account that apple offers. apple financing too for apple products on their site. Ive been able to get the mac mini, airpods and such by using the apple card and just doing the monthly installments
Try to use it alot and pay off the balance end of month fully. First time i applied I got rejected. waited a year and then applied again and got accepted with at first like $3,500. Now it's at $15,500 and they have automatically increased the limit.
But i use it alot. 2022 looking at the yearly summary was almost 40k in a bunch of different transactions.
But with your comment on discover. double check that tho. i have discover too. was my very first credit card back in 2017 as a college student. $750 limit to now $9,800.
But every 3 months they have offers for 5% cash back....so in those situations i use my discover card just for those specific merchants and then my apple card for everything else. so it's a balance.

What is your credit score if I may ask. I'm curious how credit score impacts the limit

    • @jonathanellison7066
      @jonathanellison7066 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@TheRelentlessKnight mine is over 700. I know that they take several factors to see whether they would approve the application at start. Such as looking at how much debt you have over your income mine has always be fairly low at 10% it’s now went up to 12% as I have a new card now that I had to get to balance transfer from another card to pay that down. They started me with $2,500 and my score was 766 (through Transunion) when I applied initially. So it’s mostly due to what debts you have, how much they are and how much you pay towards them as well for your income is what’s used for the issuer to set the credit limit that they are comfortable giving you.

I've been doing a lot of research on if the Apple Card is worth it for me, especially since I have two Chase cards that earns ultimate rewards points. But I will say, Apple adding that high yield savings account alongside the Card makes it MUCH more attractive to me, even with the card's weak rewards system. Thanks for this video

Greg, I really really gotta thank you for this video man. You went into SO much useful detail. Absolute BEST and most informative video on this card yet. And I’ve seen them all. I really appreciated you informing us about how the card has IMPROVED over time. When this card 1st came out I fought the urge to get it because it didn’t offer many benefits and had some limitations I couldn’t justify. I was gonna wait until WWDC in a few weeks to get this card with the plan of putting whatever new iPad Pro they announce and as well as the iPhone 15 Pro Alpha Omega Ultra Supreme (Flossy Carter Voice) or whatever the decide to call it this year lol and an Apple Watch Ultra and finance them with the 0% apr over 12 months because they give you the 3% Cash back up front. Win Win, like you said one could even look at the 3% as a discount on the total price of said items since you get it same/next day. All in all great video man. Consider doing this level of in depth Update content to ANYTHING you own in the tech space that you fell has gotten better over time. 🙏🏽

I love this credit card. It’s fantastic for financing Apple products and now, the savings account interest rocks! I love it that now my cash-back goes straight into savings. It makes me want to use it more.. which is the point! I never pay interest either because it’s very clear how much to pay to keep the interest away!

Apple has done nearly everything right with the Apple Card. The software, the billing, the wallet integration are all great. I just have two gripes. One is that it doesn't integrate seamlessly with Quicken. You can import the transactions but you have to do it in bulk at the end of each month when the statement appears in the wallet. It is not a huge deal but I prefer to see the transactions in Quicken as they process. If you don't track your purchases then this doesn't matter. My second issue is that the 2% Cash back on everything Apple Pay is ok but there are many cards that offer better rewards. My solution has been to have four different cards including the Apple Card and to use the one that generates the most cash back for that particularly purchase. It means I need to stop and think each time I pay for something. If the Apple Card rewards were just a bit better (e.g. 3 percent on travel, dining, groceries) I might be able to use it exclusively.

I totally agree, as soon as the card is used by you or anywhere you get a phone notification. Therefore it is very hard for someone who's stolen the card info to get away with it for long. And with other credit cards you might not even know the info had been stolen until days later, not to mention having to replace and cancel the card. Apple card is my primary card and I love using it. I've seen videos already bashing the new saving account and I'm like, how are you bashing a product you haven't used and tested?? Make it make sense.

The Apple Card security protection is very good. I had the same experience that you did. My number was somehow compromised and I had fraudulent charges and it was fixed as soon as I contacted them through iMessage. However, I recently had a similar issue with my Amex Card and yes, they had to mail me a new card (got it the next day) but they were able to update the number in Apple Pay without my doing anything and I could continue to use the Amex card in Apple Pay immediately. I didn't have to wait for the new card to add it to the wallet. Just thought it was worth noting

I got it and used it to get a new lawnmower from Home Depot and 1% rewards kicked in immediately. It also automatically paid my iCloud 2Gb bill for some reason, which was another 3%.

I would like to point out that when a credit card is stolen and you order a replacement, Apple pay/Google pay/Samsung pay all get immediately updated with the new number regardless of what card you're using. You can't use the physical card until the replacement arrives, but it working immediately in Apple pay works for all cards.

    • @aba792000

That does happen often but not always. Apple leaves it up to the issuer to decide whether they will automaticaly update their cards in wallet upon replacement of the physical card. Many banks do, but there are still some that don’t, so if you have to order a replacement card check with your issuer what the policy is for Apple Pay.

If they add something better to be integrated it would be much better. Always secure your credit card debt with an equal amount of cash, anything can happen and credit card debt that is unable to be paid for whatever reason will impact you financially for a very long time. Use a credit card as a debit card with rewards, of course emergencies happen and i dont blame people for using the banks money if an emergency happens, but just be vigilant.
Really know that credit cards are something you dont want to mess around with if you cannot pay it off, i have seen so many people after having their first credit card go crazy and end up in the 500-599 credit score range.

Do You need a credit score for it to qualify? Is there an Apple debit card ? Can children have it too ? Monthly fee like bank here ?

I was using Discover Savings as my primary as it was higher than most and easy to use. Added the Apple/Goldman Savings and it’s been awesome. Unfortunately not everyone recognizes their routing number yet for direct deposit.
Also I use the Apple card only for Apple Pay and T Mobile billing as the rewards aren’t great. I use Citi’s Costco card a lot for its gas and restaurant benefits and Costco purchases. I also like Wells 2% anywhere card and Southwest’s CC because of travel. The Apple Card is currently 4th in the tier list for me.

This happened to me, too. My bank was able to transfer to Goldman Savings through my phone, but not the other way around. After a lengthy wait on hold, because many are having the issue, they told me the work around was Apple Cash. Send from Goldman Savings to Apple Cash, Apple Cash to your bank.

@@ScottimusPrime my issue is my employer’s payroll system doesn’t recognize it yet. Still too new. Hopefully it gets added in by next pay period.

Would be perfect regular card if only they make at least one category 5%! Or even rotate it. I made this my main card back in 2021 before realizing I was missing out. Now it’s Venture X that’s my main card.

u can’t unfortunately, but u can pay your apple card bill with that money or transfer it to another bank like apple cash or a primary debit card

Don’t know if anyone else has had this problem but I have had this card for three years now and it’s been okay overall but the biggest problem I have had is that it denies large purchases. Like other cards it will send you a thing in the app to verify this was in fact me and I verify but it then still denies the purchase and the customer service then tells me I have to go make the purchase again. This is frustrating as say capital one will then process the payment once it is verified. This wouldn’t have bothered me as much if it hadn’t denied 2 iPhone purchases.

The Apr for this card is from 13-24% how is that a good thing to recommend? This review did not even mention that…. Most banks in uk have interest rates lower than that .

2:47 how do you know how much your minimum payment is ?
If I owe 2,000 and I stop using the card
How do I know how much I have to pay each month, so I don’t get bad credit

The fiscal card and the digital card use different numbers. Also with the fiscal card you can change the number it’s uses if there’s some kind of problem and keep using the same card.
The whole system is just awesome. They should also be raising the interest rate on the savings account soon because so many people signed up for it. PayPals savings account just went to 4.30%. I don’t use that though so I don’t know anything else about it.

the thing about fraud protection is every credit is federally required to have fraud protection as you can’t be held liable for transactions made with your stolen CC number

It’s a great card until it starts randomly declining charges. Or declining charges after you have gone through the steps to ok the charge.
It does not help your credit rating to have purchases randomly declined.
This has happened to us several times with the security features turned on or turned off. Support was unable to help us or explain why. Some of the purchases were recurring, previously approved charges.
    It’s mind boggling.

Something to keep in mind is that 4.15% is a 1 year rate. It will adjust annually and will likely go down.
