Pulled out my 510 this summer and found an oil puddle under the gearbox, a KA24 box behind an FJ20. This looks tough, but I'm going to have to give it a go. Thanks for the video.

Thank you 🙏 Well I am by no means a professional, so i just hammered it on. I couldn't fit the entire assembly on my press so a hammer was the only way i could think of
Great video! I am trying to rebuild a FS5W71B trans out of an '82 280ZX. You mentioned a supplier in the UAE. Can you share contact info for this vendor?
These were the two kits i ordered from Amazon. 12PCS Bearing Splitter Gear... www.amazon.ca/dp/B08BRFTN1V?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share 2 Jaw Bearing Puller, Adjustable... www.amazon.ca/dp/B08G4VV94J?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Hi there, where did you get the rebuild kit for the silvia sr20det trans?! I also have a jdm s14 and my trans is at the rebuild shop and they told me the internals were different than the 240sx trans and im having trouble sourcing parts and researching what I need on my silvia sr20det transmission
I actually just put the parts I used in the description of this video. Basically i had to source parts from a few places. The internals between the 240sx and JDM Silvia are very similar, the only difference i found was the 3rd gear synchronizer is a 3 piece on the Silvia but not on the 240. Best of luck with your rebuild

Thanks, we appreciate the nice comments! All the best with your gearbox rebuild, it's tedious but very rewarding in the end

That's too bad to hear! Hopefully you don't need to do a full teardown but just replace some seals
Excellent video mate! Looking forward to the next instalment. I've just bought a spare S13 box, and am thinking of attempting to refresh it myself.
Best of luck! Don't hesitate to contact a transmission shop if you have questions, and make sure to get yourself a factory service manual
This is so cool. I love these kinds of videos. Keep us posted.
Thanks man. These types of projects are tedious, but worth it
On the input shaft what kind of key insert are those? The weird looking clip or does it have a lock ring with look like woodruff keys? Thank you
awesome vid mate. question, if only needing to do the input shaft bearing, could I skip through the part where you remove the shift rods?
Can you please provide the part list and maybe links in the description? I need to do my transmission too and dont want to make mistakes with orders.
Sweet video just 1 question is it possible to just replace input shaft
Thanks man. To do that you would still need to do almost a full teardown
Please put link to rebuild kit
Have you ever seen The bell housing damaged so much that you couldn't install the input shaft bearing Without a bushing or welding
What bearing puller is that @ 7:05?

Awesome video man! When installing the rear counter shaft bearing do you just hammer back on? Or a special tool is used?

Nice video man! Question, whats the model number on the side of the bell housing? I'm trying to work out if my box is an s13 or s14.. Thanks
Where did you get the service manual
Look for the S14 Manual + S14a Supplement on NICOclubs site
