Thank you so much for posting. I will be working on the factory stock transmission on my 92 D21D that I will be giving away and will closely follow this info. I can't thank you enough.
@@CMAutohaus I will be pulling this transmission out of this pick up pretty soon. I am giving this pickup away when I'm finished with it and I hope I can get in contact with you regarding parts for this Transmission in assembly
Can an S13 trans internals be updated with the S14 updates? My current S13 trans was rebuilt by a local shop, but it makes a bad bearing sound in 4th. By the time I got the trans replaced and found the issue and took it back, they had gone out of business. This all happened about a year ago. I've been hunting for an S14 transmission to start a good rebuild from, but I'm not finding anything locally. I'm tempted to just get the OS Giken gear set and upgrade shafts, but will that get me all of the S14 updates?
Where did you find the countershaft front bearing shim? Do you have a part number? Is the shim thickness dependent on the clearances of the countershaft or is it a set thickness?
So I've got this fs5w71c in a 92 D21D and the shifter plate assembly was disassembled when I got it. Between two of the mount bolts is a hole with a spring in it what goes in that hole and where do I buy that part. Thanks
Okay, so my transmission is fs5w71c. The transmission I'm looking to buy is from a 1996 240SX and says TA71B on the case, are these interchangeable? Thanks
how do you remove the gear on the front of the countershaft? I noticed two little notches on the front of the gear and i'm not sure if that has anything to do with removing it.
As soon as parts come back from WPC/Cyro treatment, I will film the next part Here is a previous S14 trans build: th-cam.com/video/5OWI7kz5hCo/w-d-xo.html
If you have to ask. Don't do it. But if your still asking... you still javent read up on transmission repair and tools. That being said don't rebuild it yourself. But if you are.... don't do it still
@OEFarredondo dude Ive rebuilt plenty of trans before lol, just was wondering what kinda of puller he used to pull gears off the main stack, seeing as hes a home mechanic he probably didnt buy a super nice puller which is the same boat im in lol
@TylerBigHead I honestly wrote that to give you a list of toils but I sent it and was going to just say don't do it but if you do here's the tools etc... I just kept writing out of making myself laugh at my redundant stupidity. Any ways I'm still looking up the list
@@OEFarredondo only the OP of this video can give the list of the tools he used, I really only care about this trans as I have 4 spare of them that need rebuilt
Hey Nathan. We get general inquiries all the time, but we are also a functioning shop in one of the most expensive areas of the country. Please consider buying some merch on our webstore or joining our Patreon first.

@@bryandyer6912 We cannot help on parts sorry, but everything can be found with a google search
@@bryandyer6912how did your rebuild go? The search to find a replacement is hard to come across to buy.
Love these type of educational vids and repair journals.
Glad you find these useful!
I know who I'll be calling when its time to build my OS Giken SR trans!
I look forward to an OS cross mission!
love the 240 videos. keep them coming.
Will do! Stay tuned for the rest of the build!
Could you make a video of the deburring process? Enjoyed the technical knowledge very much! Great job dude keep them coming

This transmission was also in the 300zx z31s
Quite an informative video! Great!
Do you happen to have any experience with the os giken gear set for these transmissions?
I do not personally. But they seem to be VERY popular for these transmissions.
is there any way a os giken strengthened mainshaft can work with a standard sr20 gearset?
Where did you find the countershaft front bearing shim? Do you have a part number? Is the shim thickness dependent on the clearances of the countershaft or is it a set thickness?
Shims are still available from the dealer. The FSM clearly outlines how to choose shim thickness
when my s13 tranny blows im coming to you bro. if I find one for cheap gonna rebuild for backup.
Find an s14 trans. All the updates are wroth it
@@CMAutohaus how do you identify s14 transmission?
My question is, do you have the part number for the Nissan oil gutter?

I'd look at the Nissan EPC. For sure a spring goes in there, but not sure if a check ball as well. Parts should be available from the dealer.
@@CMAutohaus thanks. I appreciate your help

Ignore the TA71B. The bellhousing should have a hole on top for the CPK if it is a s14 trans.

Have you read the FSM? Its pretty straight forward, but you need an SST
Where’s part 2
