Chef Gigg ( / chef_gigg_kamol ) is both the Iron Chef and Top Chef Champion of Thailand - and when you see his unbelievable cooking skills, and the speed at which he can cook, you will know why. It’s so much fun to watch him as he handles the wok, controls the fire, and know precisely how to cook Thai Chinese food over a raging hot fire, quickly, and effectively.
Lerd Thip (Wanghin) ร้านเลิศทิพย์ สาขาวังหิน - Along with my friends Khun Tan ( / itan , and Khun Tape ( / pongtap_lunlaman , we went to Lerd Thip (Wanghin) ร้านเลิศทิพย์ สาขาวังหิน restaurant in Bangkok to eat Thai Chinese seafood, which is Chef Gigg’s family restaurant.
Here are the main dishes he cooked:
Curry crab (ปูผัดผงกะหรี่)
Braised duck (เป็ดพะโล้)
Red curry spaghetti (สปาเกตตี้ฉูฉี่กุ้งแม่น้ำย่าง)
Sour curry crab (แกงส้มปูไข่หน่อไม้)
Basil fried rice, wagyu steak (ข้าวกระเพราเนื้อวากิว)
Pearl of the Andaman (ไข่มุกอันดามัน)
Crab noodles (ปูอบวุ้นเส้น)
Lime pork (หมูมะนาว)
Steamed crab (ปูนึ่ง)
It turned out to be quite a crab night of Thai food, Chef Gigg kept on making the selection of giant mud crabs that he had fresh in stock. First he made a crab curry, known in Thai as boo pad pongari (ปูผัดผงกะหรี่).
In addition to Thai Chinese seafood, Chef Gigg also includes a few Western influenced Thai dishes on his menu, like red curry spaghetti with river prawn and basil fried rice with wagyu beef steak. I’m not typically huge on Thai fusion food, but these are both incredible dishes. The basil fried rice is not a cheap dish (price - 1,500 THB), but it is uncontrollable good - like comfort food on top of comfort food.

OMG man Chef gigg has amazing skills,speed,experience and he's so friendly and sit with you to eat,he's awesome.
I’m a frequent customer there, my house is nearby the place. Just wanna tell that his food is truly divine, some dishes are probably the best in my life so far.
The price for a normal dish is less than 5 usd, however, for special dish like wagyu beef or crab, the price would be around 30-50usd.
Try to avoid visiting during the prime time usually 6-8pm, since this restaurant is considered a cheap eat for the locals as well so it’s always packed and service during that time will be sub-par.

Definitely One of my favourite restaurants in BKK....besides the delicious food the service was excellent & very prompt..... Chef Gigg even help mix the wagyu fried rice for us... we felt overwhelmed... a true genius
We stayed in Chidlom and we took Grab to go there on a Saturday evening and told the driver to take the express way to avoid the crazy traffic jams as advise by Lerdtip.... took around 30mins to reach there

Mark Weins actually updated his description on the price…the Wagyu fried rice is now 1500tbh
When we were there 2019 we had Wagyu fried rice, yellow curry crab, fried pork, morning glory & 2 beers for not more than $2500 bath.. can’t remember exactly

Holly D however his prices not so humble for special dishes. No prices on the menu shown, he gave bigger portions for Mark and charges more for farang. Quite sad, not so humble :(

Had the same idea until I checked the place out on Tripadvisor which is showing a few horrific service reviews. One claimed there's different prices for foreigners... I'll wait for more reviews to come in to dispute or reconfirm the current concerns. Hoping they're false claims.

To be honest, when I first started watching Mark eat I thought his faces were over the top and kind of phony for the camera. Now that I've been here awhile I find that I know his personality and incredible LOVE for food and I understand all the faces, hyped descriptions of every morsel, etc. Now when I watch other food channels I find them boring and absolutely love his over-the-top excitement for all things food. I can only imagine how satisfying it is for the chefs to see his expressions when he samples their dishes. I do wonder how he eats some of the hairy snouts, intestines, stomachs, etc. But hey, to each his own! Now I wouldn't have it any other way! I wonder if he cooks himself. Either way, I can't wait for more! TOODLES NOODLE : )
Rosie Palm agree lol. A lot of the food eating channels are just to show off. Mark is an authentic food traveler. It is difficult to travel with a young child too. He knows Thai even if he isn’t Thai and he gets along with people of different backgrounds where they all feel comfortable around him and let him eat with their families and friends. Complete immersion..And he doesn’t travel “in style”

I'm just finished my instant ramen soup!😋but watching this video, I just savoured all what I saw. I liked the sliced pork with that sauce.🤤 The fried rice, my goodness, those red chilly peppers giving a fiesta spicyness to the rest of the dish. Delisioso! There is no doubt in my mind that all the dishes are wonderfuly delicious! Like it!
