- A classic Pretzel Dark Ride from the 1950s can be found in a small retro fun lakeside park. Step right up as we land in Sylvan Beach, New York to explore Sylvan Beach Amusement Park. Right in the heart of the park is a classic dark ride that has not really been updated since its start in 1954 named Laffland. Join us as we go along on a couple of rides sharing with you the whole experience. But do not worry we also bring you along for a whole park tour including checking out some classic arcades. And on the note of arcades, in the middle of the park is a separately owned arcade named Carrello's Carousel Arcade that houses a carousel from 1896. This place is amazing and timeless and we are so happy we are able to share it with you.

One of my biggest regrets in life was not going on Laffland when I lived in upstate New York (it was during the height of COVID so they weren't open for most of the time I was there). Also, trying to nail down my favorite dark ride is a near impossible task. I think as a gut reaction, I would say Spaceship Earth, as I love a good omnimover and the nostaglia is strong for me with that one, but there are plenty more out there I love. What is your guys favorite dark ride?
@HelloIAmClutch it stinks you missed it. Favorite dark ride is a tough one, it would have to be The Old Mill at Rye Playland for pure nostalgia reasons. Best haunted house style dark ride would be the one in Ocean City Maryland.
@@JoeJoyHaveLanded During that same period of time I at least was able to make a trip to Rye Playland so I got to go on The Old Mill! For sure a classic. I desperately need to make an east coast boardwalk trip to get to Ocean City, among many other places. Never been!
