13 to 1 compression holy shit. I had a build 3.2 vr6 engine and had 12 over 1 compression and that car was already so aggressive, the gas response was crazy so I can imagine how this would be. On a side note I am looking to import a Cayman s sport 987 with a 911 997 3.8 motor bored out to a 4.1 with 410hp and 480 from Germany but where I live the rules are so stricked so we don't know if it will pass technical inspection here but my importer is trying to find out if it's possible, if so than I bought myself a mean tracktool, it got so many mods only the chassis is still stock lol, gonna be sick but I don't have high hopes tbh.
Dude that will be insane. Such a good platform for track once u get the oil mods settled. You won’t be dissapointed! Good luck on getting it! I’ll try to make a build breakdown of all the performance parts that went into this car.
@@phatmanrx7 The car is already completely track ready. Oilpumps for constant oil supply, motorsport oilpan, extra cooler for the transmission, you name it it's got it all. Curious what mods went into yours, realy seems like a serious build!
Absolutely, minus not doing the high compression pistons. It would prob be best to stick to the stock 11:1 or go a bit lower if u plan on running higher boost
@@phatmanrx7 Hertech has been doing closed deck big capacity builds for decades now. Not only do they close the top deck they add support rings to the bottom of the cylinders
I believe 2.7 you can only go up to a 2.9. You may want to consider just buying a block from a 3.4 since iit will end up costing the same. Extra stripped blocks can sometimes be found for like $1000!
Total cost for this engine I posted in this video! PORSCHE 911/CAYMAN/BOXSTER ENGINE REBUILD COST - MY MOTOR COST (WHAT TO EXPECT) 987/997 M97 3.4/3.8L th-cam.com/video/SDmAA4LCOJY/w-d-xo.html
waddup phat :P lets cruise this week if you have a car that works right now lmfao. pretty sure I was there at the track when you blew up her hopes and dreams :(. you took it very well tho. respect.
It’s super lightweight forged! Icthink total all in I’m about 22k I will make a video breaking down the cost of each part and whether it was necessary or if you can get away with a cheaper rebuild
This is going to be a beast on the track, sick!

Can’t wait to see this thing when it’s finished !
Would this rebuild be good for a turbo application?

500hp for the win!
Finally another video! 🔥
How did this motor work out? Reliable? HP output? Thanks
Are those steel sleeves? And why not go closed deck?
They are. I don’t think anyone’s done closed deck for these cars

How many whp are you getting with the 3.8 ?
Great information thank you for producing this. One point of feedback, an interview style could work better than both talking simultaneously.
Love those fender flares, where did you get them?
Precision Porsche!
is this also possible with 2.7?

Thanks! Haha the other cayman works but I haven’t been driving that much, been so busy
