Practising Barrels With Jinx - Learning The Pattern and Fixing Issues

I’m currently teaching Jinx the barrel pattern. I’m also learning the correct approach for the barrels and where to put her to get a nice clean turn. Im also working on teaching Jinx not to drop her shoulder before turning and also not to anticipate the barrels. I want her to wait for me to ask her to turn before she turn by herself. When Jinx does anticipate I just turn her the other way to the barrel and turn her in a circle or disengage her hindquarters.
I’m also not doing the exact same pattern every time because then she will get bored and start to think for herself. So sometimes I will go to the left first or just do two barrels for a few runs.
Once I have the barrel pattern perfect at walk and trot then I’ll move into lope.

Great job! I love how you stopped trotting when she slipped not all riders would do that. Is the arena almost finished?

Thank you, I want to take the best care of her as possible 🥰
The arena is fully finished except the granite. We are thinking that the paddock might be dry enough in a few days. The rain finally stopped.
