I bet not to many blacksmiths would fancy fiddling with those fine parts. Smaller hands/fingers the better. Nice job. Stay safe. 😷🇫🇷🇬🇧😎🍷

Hey man! When you do the charge grids on those models all the way up from the 1200 onwards you should also pull that LED block out and clean it.
Dusting from the charge grid not applying even voltage will cause build up on the surface of the dust proof glass and create a void region or uneven density. Pull it out, and there is a small hole at one end of the glass. Use a cotton swab and a small amount of technical grade alcohol, wipe it in one motion towards the hole.
Really easy way to improve front to back density and no parts required.
Also under the drum is your discharge wire and it can cause the same issues sometimes. Good practices would be to replace it when you replace the charge grid to ensure the drum potential is cleared adequately so the cleaning unit doesn’t get overworked. Not doing this can cause excessive toner build up post print cycle that the cleaning unit blade has to scrape off and can wear the blades out really quick.
    Have fun!

Good to know. I was needed to replace cleaning blades frequently. I'll have to replace the lower discharge wire. Thanks for the tip!

I'm getting a 'skid' mark on every 5th copy on the back and every 25th copy on the front of my 951 pro. Service guy should be here Monday I hope. So strange how consistent this mark is on my 11x17 about half way down and 1/3 to the right side. Great videos - keep it up.

Don't know if you've ever tried it but using a pencil eraser to clean the coronas works really well, drag it across the wire after taking the grid off. You can also fold over a small piece of scotch brite pad in a "V" fold in between the jaws of needle nose pliers to scrub the wire. Windex is really good at removing the ozone stains from the shells ... always finish cleaning by brushing off or blowing them out. I worked for a Dealer that never bought us the parts we needed ... so I rewire coronas by using Corona wires from a spool of corona wire ( Much Cheaper ) made loop ends with a spring hook or a small Philips screwdriver. The Windex trick works really on the Grids as well, spray on ... lightly wipe off with a lint free cloth, then fold over a piece of paper and put it in the middle and pull it through once or twice. The last Konica Color copier I worked on was the C650 ( Retired )

Oh wow! I didn't even know you could buy corona wire on a spool. Sounds like you had to work for your paycheck. Thanks for sharing!

Had two types of Corona Wire on a Spool ... 80u Unpolished tungsten and 50u Gold Plated used for Grids and some of the older machines !! I used one of those click eraser pens by Pentel because the corona wire cuts through the rubber and you have to eventually cut some off for fresh. Scotch Brite pads by 3M are good to use as well as the corona wires don't really fail, oxides build up on them and the electrostatic HV discharge in those areas ... using a small square of Scotch Brite pad you can fold it and place it over a wire and clamp it with a pair of small needle nose pliers and gently run iy back and forth which will polish the wire and remove the oxides ... Konica and other makers will deny this but it does work ... been doing it for years, even showed a print shop I used to service how to do it ( they service their own machines as well ). You can use Brasso or a similar very fine polishing compound on the drums to remove light surface scuffs ( headlight polish or plastic polish might work ) just be sure to make the last step and alcohol wipe down. Also get a bag of Patting powder from Katun or Precision to powder the blades and drum for assembly. ( Zink Stearate ) Butyl Cellusolve, (Whte board cleaner) is a good cleaner for rubber feed wheels, Precision and other suppliers sell Rubber Rejuvenator.
I suppose though ... if you are getting a million plus on drums ... it's probably time for replacement anyway !! Also when working with the Photosensitive Drums, try to keep them covered ... sunlight kills them ... interior light even 5 minutes tends to degrade them, although they recover in a few prints ...
Accidentally got into copier repair almost 40 years ago ! ... if you have maintenance agreements make sure the Dealer replaces the parts according to Factory Spec life - Dealers like to turn counters off to up their profits M/A cost is based on Factory Life on parts so they make more if they don't replace parts !!!
    Best of Luck !!

The easy way and most safe is on the spring way! You are so lucky with Corona wires! 😂

I'd like to know: Do you run "Maximum Density adjustment" on 3070 and how you measure the charts. We have C2060L and i1 pro2, but the manual say nothing.

I use my Fiery Rip to do the calibrations. You might be able to do it without the Fiery, Not sure.

Highly recommended: an Amazon box of white cotton gloves. Thought not necessarily disposable (i.e. they can be washed), it is just better to consider them as disposable, and be done with it.
That way you CAN 'touch the wire' and such.
You'll be much happier in the long run.
And they're cheap. 'buck a throw'

hi, can you help me with error c-0119

    • @justaprinter
      @justaprinter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

The transfer belt cleaning motor (M5) speed abnormality.
The M5EM error detection signal is detected twice in succession within a specified period of time after M5 was turned ON. Try to find the sensor on the back of the machine and clean it. Hopefully just dirty. Or toner is stopping it from turning.
