- Service guys might disagree, but last time I checked I have two hands and a brain just like them, so you and I can service our own equipment too! Professional service guys are still my knight in shining armor though!
How to change the developer for cyan, yellow, magenta or black on a Konica Minolta Bizhub PRO C6500. Can be intimidating the first time you do it, but its pretty simple. Obviously if you have a service contract you don't need to do this, but if you are in a situation where you can service your own machine you can save some serious cash by doing this yourself. You can also cause some damage if you do not follow the service manual but it is pretty simple and the more you do on the machines, the more confident you become. It's also very easy to change the drums and coronas too. OEM part numbers for developer are Black: DV610K, A04P600, Cyan: DV610C, A04P900 Magenta: DV610M, A04P800 Yellow: DV610Y, A04P700
Buy a service manual and you can literally do all maintenance items for your machine. All Konica boxes are very similar, you should be able to follow these steps for newer and faster machines like C6000, C7000, C8000, C2060, C2070, C3060, C3070.

@@pokieraouloeleman5268 Likely you just need to replace your Magenta developer. That code means Magenta density is below normal. What percentage are you at? If its up close to 300% its time to change it. It could also be your developer unit. Check the life on that.

Hi, love your video’s, we have started a small print shop 2 years ago, cash strapped at the moment, my wife is full time (graphic artist for 25 years) and I’m still working a full time job, I have started servicing a Xerox 700i and Ricoh 5110s, I need a copy of the service manual for the Xerox if anyone has one, did anTB on the Ricoh, big job and was worried if it would ever run again but it worked out well, they are not the easiest of machines to work on, the local Ricoh dealer will not help because it is the largest Ricoh in town, they have not worked on them and they didn’t sell it to us. We keep putting what we make back into the business and we still have a lot to learn, your video’s are great for content and inspiration.

Recently we've just acquired another Bizhub Pro C1070 machine, much more efficient in quality but apparently more complicated in maintenance.

I'm learning how to do my own service. A technician that service our machines is a truly great guy and I consider it as a friend, they teach me a lot and always answer my doubts and indicate me what to do when I get stuck on something.
I really have fun doing that.
Btw, I have one bhc308 and one press c7000.
Here in Paraguay all technician advocate for Ricoh presses, and thank you, a year ago I decided to go with KM.
A much more expensive machine to buy here, but on a mid and long term a lot cheaper to maintain and with a better quality print (on my point of view). It is a no brainer decision.
For the next year I truly want to do an upgrade an look for a 3070. I hope the business allows me to do that jump.

Most developers will run past their recommended cycle life, but be aware that the machines may start using more toner to compensate for the developer as it ages.

Hey how's it going. I found a box of magenta developer in my garage recently from back when i used to service Lexmark printers for a few years and I seem to remember thinking the developer was somehow magnetic, and I was wondering if you could make a magenta ferrofluid out of it. I stumbled onto your channel in a search to confirm this and then wound up watching your videos for the rest of the night. I do miss that job, and watching your channel has scratched that itch that I miss from it. I never would have imagined such a channel would exist, but this has been really fun to see your process and how you maintain the machines. I really like that your konica minolta machines have the tools you need attached to the doors. Lexmark was never so thoughtful!

For years I serviced my 6501. I have a brand new 2060 that’s under a service contract. I currently have to take care of my 654e and 554 Konica’s.
Its good to have some on contract and others you service. Gives you options.

It depends on several things, but typically you can 400,000 or more clicks if you keep up on corona replacements.

Hello, I just found your videos and loving them. I've been running a c1060 since they have come out and as much maintenance that I can by myself. Have you ever changed developer on your 1070? I have not be able to find a video on that. Currently I call a tech to do it. But it.seems like something that should be fairly simple. If and when. You do, please post a link to it. Thank you sir. I service all of my Epson Machines myself (all Inkjets) and my one Laser Printer (Brother), but non of them are of the caliber you are using so im not sure if that counts :)
Can you help me on my C3070? I have a never changing C2221 ERROR after changing my drums. I even purchased a new transfer belt assembly but got that error right now back. Sensors are new.

C6500 is a good machine. Be prepared to replace all the drums, developer and corona wires unless you can verify they are new. Also check the age of developer units, belt, rollers. The newer 1070, 2070, 3070 machines have better quality and longevity if you can find one of those.
Tap on the housing with screwdriver handle and rotate mag roller and run vaccum nozzle of mag roller. Keep doing this until you get every last drop of toner/developer out. (dump it first).
Good tips!
Make sure to keep your finger on the Mag Roller to prevent build up of static electricity.

Good afternoon. Dear sir, I've followed your instruction for replacing the black developer on my CS 665pro because of the 2454 error code. I try to run the tests as you demonstrates but now my machine gives this error 2456. after turn it out and waiting for a while it shows me 2453. Can you help me out? Thank you.

Could be a bad sensor on the developing unit. If dev and or dev unit are old I'd replace them.

Yes, developer is toner and metal power mixed.
how about using a regular shop vac or a canister vacuum?
Regular vacuum would allow some toner particles through the filter and into the air. Toner vac has much better filtration system.

@@algirdassokolnikas4087 Hi I know its been a month and I'm not "Just A Printer" but I used to service similar machines. You don't need any particular brand of toner vac. Just be sure it has a filter that is designed for toner, between 1 and 5 microns. You don't want to use a normal vacuum as it will stir up these extremely fine particles and they are not good to breathe and will dirty everything they settle on.
I agree that a service vac is a much better option than a regular domestic vacuum cleaner.
When I was working as a copier tech some years ago in the UK I always bought service vac machines from RS Components. They have a huge website, check them out to see if the can help you

Oh no! Put some paper down and vaccum every last drop of old dev out of it. Get a 3 M Service Vac (sold under a new name recently). Get the regular toner/dust filter.
I no longer hand this machine. It was a good machine!

Maybe open the door during the adjustment and see what the magenta marks look like on the belt. This might show an imperfection with the magenta transfer.
You mean the charging roller in the transfer unit for the magenta is having a problem ?
Clear the parts counters before you run those adjustments.

Sometimes when I keep getting errors and drums and developer are getting old I just replace them all. Drums, developer, wires.
