The good folks at Konica-Minolta cancelled our maintenance contract for a bizhub 1200 pro saying that the machine is obsolete. I see that drums and developer are easy to find on the internet so I will be doing many things myself. Once the parts come in, I will be going back to this. Your drum looks a different color. Is it aftermarket? Where'd you get it? I see some on aliexpress, but I'm nervous to buy from an unknown source.
Minolta 165 e. Changed to new compatible developer, drum, blade. Using orignal toner. After 2000 cps, faint & less density copies. Uneven white prints. Reason?.
Hi, great video again! One thing I still am struggeling to fully grasp the purpose of: What is the developer used for? It is not the toner but it is a consumable you need to replace. Could you maybe explain the topic in one of your future videos? Thanks a lot!
In a dual component machine there is developer, a kind of fine metal granules powder, carries the toner feeded in developing unit to the drum via developing roller, a precisely placed magnets in it. If I recall it was thoroughly discussed in Minolta ep6000 service manual, if you can find on internet.
Sorry! I was in a hurry to get this done that I didn't explain more about it. On this machine the developer needs to be replaced. The developer carries toner from the developer unit to the drum and over time it wears out and carries less toner. You loose density. I'll have to talk more about the theory in the future. Great question!
Do you use Konica OEM or 3rd party developer. Same question for drums. I didn't see a Konica trademark on the bag. If 3rd party, do you see any quality/longevity difference? Any specific 3rd party you prefer?
Hey Dan how are u just a quick question I have a konica minolta c1070 machine and it gave me a c-2841 I did all the detective work and it seems like it's my mother board and I just can't find it online do you know any website that I can order from ? Thanks Dan! ☺️
you rock I need to do this on my 1052 press. I also need to change the cleaning blades do you have a video of that in this style of machine? I have a 1mm PM kit on the way. Where do you get your developer?
Just replaced the cleaning blades today on my 1200, I should have filmed it. It is very simple. just 4 screws on the top of the cleaning unit. Then remove the filter screen on top and there is one screw that holds the cleaning blade. I should make a video showing that.
@@davidbrasier1239 Yes, you replace the one blade. Then you need to move a lever on the left and right of the unit to switch the next old blade. The manual will show you.
Thanks for another great video !! Can you make a video how you market you're product how the costumers come in contact with you're company thill the printing process. I just started a printing shop and is hard to let know the people that you are in business and do the orders as well. Thanks !
@@justaprinter we did it quite good on a 1052, when turning the registration section sideways a little bit. But now there is skew in cross feed direction. Any ideas?
I was a color tech with IKON. I loved the IKON 650/550 which were rebranded KM C6500/5500. I also did Canon 7000 and Ricoh 900. Retired now, but I miss the KM color boxes, they were well-built machines. Very tech-friendly. Amazing that they are still just chugging along, I retired in 2011.@@justaprinter
Working alone is best thing ever.
Haha, it has its perks for sure. :)

I only use OEM after that bad generic drum experience I had. I have found that OEM is worth the slightly higher price, just to save me time.

I never had to change a motherboard. There is a company called hytec repair that can repair boards.

Thanks for the idea! I'll see what I can do.
Very nice. Do you have also a website to look for used konica printers?
Sorry, I don;t Ebay is a good starting point. Search the web for used konica minolta.
How do you deal with the skew in feed direction, duplex printing?
There are some adjustments for this on the 1200. The 1070 and 3070 are pretty amazing and they don't need much adjustment.

Please learn how to configure the 6500 Pro
I no longer am running my c6500. That was a great machine.
Do you have lessons about it?
