- AGAIN, THIS IS A NON FIRING TOY AND WILL REMAIN AS SUCH- NO TRUNION, BARREL OR COMPLETE BOLT /FIRING PIN. IT IS MADE OF SOFT MILD STEEL, LITERALLY HARDWARE STORE PIPES AND TUBING. NO TEMPER OR HARDENING...
Just wanted to post a close-up of the relationship of the selector and trigger/sear/disconnect interplay.
Note in SA position the disconnect rear sear comes up to catch the bolt when trigger is depressed. Let go - and the bolt loudly jumps to the main sear.
In A position - both sears stays down as a selector cam lobe keeps them there.
I tried to make a very simple relationship and the assembly of upper and lower.
The only screws I have- 2 for the flat trigger spring+guard and one screw that attaches the pistol grip+ trigger guard.
Those don,t need to come off.

The actual barrell size he means as it has to be the regulated size for that round hahah diameter is length if you look at it that way
Calibre isn't right it's what it's chambered in not calibres, as calibre is the size of rounds fire not the barrel diameter as some are rifles and that increases diameter by a tiny but undifferencial amount

Thank you for kind words. Magazine is the difficult part of a gun. Even some commercial gunsmiths didn,t bother or dare to make their own proprietary mags- used the existing, reputable, reliable ones.
I used a Hk 270 mag for most of my plumbing punk models.
Funny , it I have a project of a video about home made mags by others I had discovered. Just need to find time to put it together.
I really like the work you did on the selector switch. Was this inspired by the Swiss m 45, or is it just similar because of the simplicity?
You mean Swedish m45? I don,t recall if it had selector switch or it was only full auto.
My selector switch and most of the gun is modeled after URU. But the camshaft design of selector/ safety switches is quite common,
Even AR 15 and M16 have them.

No problem. Look up the real URU on the Forgotten weapons, to me it,s the best simplest SMG. Perhaps simpler than Sten which has ~ 50 parts. Uru claims under 20 parts.

No. I just found online an exploded view of URU and enlarged it to a scale, printed out the picture of the trigger, traced it and cut from 1/4" steel plate. Than built the rest around it. See all the videos about it, You will get better understanding

No it is one piece trigger/ sear/ disconnect . It has no binary function. The first loud click on release is just the function of disconnect and reset. But this model has fire selector., single vs full auto

I love the design of this prototype but I’d be a little worried about the firing pin shooting back at me. Looks like a badass gun though.
The spring guide - not a firing pin. It has a shoulder, by which the spring holds it forward against the bolt. It,s not gonna fly out. Also, many guns have parts moving backwards, like slide on a pistol. One must not place the face on it,s way.

I have given pretty much most of the details- common hardware store materials, one off parts and other particulars in the description which accompanies the 1t clip about this toy and a little more in other episodes. I never had any drawings or blue prints, as I create intuitively and improvising - I was blown away by THE URU trigger/sear /disconnect as one piece, found it,s picture, printed, scaled reasonably and made one from 1/4” steel . Then one lead to another , like playing jazz …
A mechanically inclined person or a professional mechanic can put 2 and 2 together. Thanks for watching

Yes. The barrel and trunion have not been made
This dummy gun is scaled for .22 ( 5.56mm)caliber. The original URU was in 9 mm and I believe in 32ACP.
I had no intention to complete the gun, only wanted to see and demonstrate the URU MECHANISM.
But if one was to complete it- multiple options for the barrel: for instance use of appropriately chambered .22 air gun barrel etc.
Trunion comes from a plumbing fitting - my receiver is just a standard threaded plumbing pipe.
As for ammo- if .22 standard ammo is not available, than I don,t know what is….

I have never made any drawings. I went from existing plumbing sizes and scaled picture of the URU trigger. The rest was improvisation on a fly. The decent details of the build are in the several videos and descriptions. Thanks

What is the length of its barrel? Need to have a system to push back a cartridge and lift for relevant bullet velocity
Asked and answered many times. No barrel- just blind nut-cap. NO BANG- EVER. Just a mechanism that mimics real gun- a fidget for older nerds

Lock it open an cut the guide rod square off the back and the remaining lenth replace with a tube that the spring holds over,should not bunch up..nice job ..sink the bolt top half in to frame and shave excess off,blueing my 2 cents..you look up GB 22, stable on 9mm said engineer designer,we only saw 22 tho...simplest 4 part square frame sidearm..

1) I have never been happy with the external guide rod. IT WAS A TEMPORARY RIG, JUST TO SEE MY TRIGGER GROUP ALL TOGETHER. Plan is to do like the ORIGINAL URU- the smaller spring with the guide imbedded in a grove on the top of the bolt or like in Russian PPS43 on the side.
Your suggestion of a telescoping, as I understand guide rod consisting with a solid and tubular halves is impossible for this particular application- the bolt travels so far back that both halves would need to be so short so they wood separate when the bolt travels forward again. Very short receiver and perhaps impractical disconnect system for 22LR . But I did ,t intend to shoot…
2) My lower receiver is only 3/4x 3/4 square tubing. The 2 main pins(7/16”) : the trigger pin and the selector- barely fit in the tight space - everything is very tight. Also the vertical alignment of the sear and the bolt has been established. Can,t move everything down. If I had rectangular tubing , let,s say 3/4 x 1 1/2” , then I would do like the original URU did- open up the top for the round upper receiver to cradle in.
So I would have to redo the whole thing, not just improve it. Also I kinda like it,s exposed steampunk look. I did it on the fly…with whatever I had…improvised….a conventional effort for such a fun object would be tedious.
Plus I,m moving on to other things to explore…
3) Speaking of the other things- not sure what you meant about GB22. The purpose of my exercise was to try to make a simpler cut of the frame, not having fancy equipment: a series of big and small holes connected by a grinder accomplished that for me and might do the same for others

I will get rid of the outside springe guide at some point, make everything neat and internal, like in the original URU
@@STEINBVG could set up the rod like a swedish KG99 . and put a hole in the bolt above the chamber with the rod running through it as a guide
The bolt is tiny. Difficult to drill now as everything is done, but I can do it as a groove on the top- like original URU or on the side like PPS43. Much easier retrofit….just don,t have time. Distracted by the single shot.

That brass cap is literally the full length of the barrel. Mayaswell hold the round with some pliers n hit it with a hammer, might be more accurate lol
That brass cap is literally the ‘barrel’ . The gun is not a shooting model, not in the USA circa 2023…where hitting a round with a hammer remains legal…so far.

I do not draw to that extend. Sometimes some parts napkin sketches...But even if I did, I would not want any legal or social issues complicating my life by distributing the blue prints. If one has enough of mechanical skills, it's easy do emulate any of that by just looking...

Хороший вопрос. Он подвешен,но не болтается. Впадает в нижнюю коробку. Вправо-влево минимальный люфт. Сверху замыкается верхней коробкой. ,Чуть больший люфт по движению спуска. Но в целом все плотно.

Спасибо. Но 80 % это идея гениального бразильца создавшего 9мм УРУ пистолет пулемет . Я только отшкалил его в 22LR и ещё более упростил селектор и связал его с разборной кнопкой общей пружиной

No ejector or extractor? How then?
It has ejector, but no extractor. In some cases, you may not need both.
See my open bolt Gevarm and Voere.
Blowback directs the shell straight back. if there's no place to get stuck- it will bounce out. An ejctor deflects it more consistently( even a protruding 1 side lip on a magazine can serve that

It has a 1 inch barrel! Even if it could fire, you would not be able to hit the side of a barn with it.
That brass thing is a 1/2 pipe thread plumbing cup. Not barrel . The same cup is in the back drilled to allow the spring guide come through. See the other videos - clearly seen.
If I were to make a barrel, who says I could not make it longer?

Все правильно. Ты абсолютно прав . Но борз я так думаю не мелкашка. Затвор толстый, тонна места для продольного отверстия. В моём случае затвор маленький . Места мало. Сверлить трудно. Это был просто эскиз проверить курок и полуавтомат разъединитель. А пружину с направляющей я сымпровизировал грубо. Собираюсь переделать новый затвор чтоб пружина была внутри коробки: поверху в канавке затвора как у оригинального УРУ, или сбоку как в ППС. ( легче моими грубыми инструментами)А что до эжектора- у меня выхлоп сверху: снизу направляющую/ отражатель не воткнёшь - габариты не позволяют+ там выточка для подхватывания патронов из мага. Поэтому я сделал мой маленький фиксированный Г-образный эжектор…. А так спасибо- шаришь…Но это теория… мое изделие не стреляет…
@@STEINBVG кстати, в твоём случаи вообще можно выбросить эту направляющую, у тебя пружина в трубке некуда не денется, как у многих ПП.
Ok. С тобой стоит поболтать…Расклад как в Стене, с большой пружиной почти на весь диаметр коробки старомоден- хотя например два моих редких и похожих ружья мелкашки (Voere and Gevarm- посмотри) со свободным затвором именно так и устроены. Но! Как и у Стена, затвор имеет направляющую глубокую юбку в которую входит пружина- и ее шлейф не цепляет при движении вперёд за шептало одиночного огня. Для мелкашки очень важно не терять энергии- патрон слаб . Я не смог выточить такое углубление в таком маленьком затворе. Кроме того , спуск и разъединитель как одно целое выступают глубоко внутрь коробки и мой палец работает ‘пружиной’ держа затвор.Пружина трёт об бугорок разъединителя при выстреле, поэтому я уменьшил ее диаметр и поднял кверху- не терять момент( добавь также что энергия тратится потом на съемку патрона и удар по капсюлю) . Усилив пружину я мог бы преодолеть трение… но тогда похерил бы свободный откат- а он при этом УСМ ох какой длинный- ведь он был сделан для 9mm parabellum- а там тонна энергии на все!
