STMLT stands for Stimulates (ステミレイツ is a rough transliteration: su-te-mi-re-i-tsu). They're kind of an idol group, but a band, if that makes sense. A bandol, a band of idols. Owned and created by a talent agency or something (I haven't really figured this out yet ahah) via auditions, they are youtubers doing all sorts of silly youtube content xD challenges, food reports and stuff. Some members do gravure as well. They don't write any music but they play it with talent and the singer writes the lyrics I think. Really sad that the sax got fired due to breach of contract, whatever that means.
As far as I can tell they are "Indie" in terms of management. They were formed by their producer "Ecchan" Etsuko who is a famous youtuber in Japan. STMLT are TH-camrs + Girls Band, because Ecchan loves girls band music she did some music herself but decided to produce a band for which she writes and produces songs. As TH-camrs they do daily videos, usually featuring pranks or drinking/eating competitions. They do a lot of collaborations with TH-camr + Idol groups Okopure and FR2PON! and together have started their own label "DreamARK Record". The members were selected through audition. Vocalist Yukippe was an office worker who did a bunch of anime song covers and took the opportunity to break free of the daily grind and try the TH-camr + musician life. Drummer Gomichan was a session drummer who supported various Idol groups. Bass Akira was a sales person on or of trains? not sure how to read the translation, she either sold trains or things on trains. Guitar Kirara was in The Coinlockers, an Idol girls-band project by Akimoto (The AKB48 guy etc.), she is also a university student doing a study into how music can help repair brain damage. Keyboard Ayanon was an Idol and friend of Gomichan, she only just started playing piano/keyboard, the screaming backing vocals were Ecchan's idea Ayanon had no prior training. They focused their first year and a half on building a steady TH-cam audience to have a steady income, this year (2024) they plan on expanding their musical audience and are doing their first tour.
They've been going a few years as a full instrumental Idol act, but only released music recently. The key boarder is very loud, also super energetic and reminds me of Miku.. Jusy way louder, there Vlogs are fun but all in Japanese only🇯🇵🤘🎸
Weird, contrary to you, I actually love her vocals and the mix, the overdubs on the voice sounds great to me. This girl gives me Su-Metal feelings (they even look like each other physically). Sadly, the sax doesn't shine that much on the whole EP (nos just this song), I hope they give more space to it on future releases.
Love the music. I am just not sure on the vocalist, I like it but just not sure if is going to lead me to want more. I will have to listen to a few more songs.
Same for me. Music is mind-blowing to me but the vocals make it kind of bizarre, but still cool at all. I'd like to see a live video of that song just to see how they really perform when there's no studio and no producer mixing things up. But with what I read here and what I've listened of their other songs, I fear that this song will stay some kind of one-hit-wonder for my playlist. @STMLT: Come on girls, prove me wrong - and get the sax-player back! 🤘
This band has unfortunately fallen apart. There are only 3 of the original 6 members remaining. The saxophonist was fired over some very ambiguous “contract violation” and the drummer and keyboardist/growler both quit this last month. The 3 remaining girls do nothing but sit around and film themselves getting wasted. They only released one new song in the past year. I don’t think they’re going to be around much longer…which is sad because they had a good thing going.
@@HarveyAnk oh I know. I’ve seen their recent videos with the 2 new members. It only resolves their lineup issues…it unfortunately does nothing to rectify their sordid history. It’s a shame too…if there ever was an idol band that truly deserves to fade into obscurity, it’s STMLT.
@@Josh-the-bassist dang it I was wondering why the newest music video that just came out a while back I didn't see the saxophone and the keyboard singer and it looked like a new singer for the growling and crazy vocals but the original singer still there which is awesome so beautiful voice and a couple of other band members are still there since this song Twilight
@@shawnwacek6791 yeah, Mion the saxophonist has joined another group (this one is more J-pop than rock/metal), the original drummer and keyboardist/growler both quit. The former drummer is now doing YT vlogs and the former keyboardist has become a runway fashion model. The original vocalist, guitarist and bassist are still there, but the rest are new. The new drummer is really good. The new keyboardist is decent, but she doesn’t seem to be a serious musician. I don’t know if she’ll be around for long. They’re definitely a different group than they were a year ago, but I lost a lot of respect for the band when I found out how much and how badly they had abused Mion, who was a juvenile at the time she was a member. It was really horrible how they did her. I’m glad she’s in a better situation now.

Am I the only one who discovered this song because of a YT ad?
Me too! Instantly hooked on the drums sound and the growl, and decided not to skip it. Best decision ever!! I listen to their songs everyday now lol.
Same XD it's really cool
@@0solatorio0 me too
Same but dang it was it effective 😭
Nope Me too... and a cracking tune it is

So they are like a discount Babymetal of some sort?
@@thaedleinad They are nothing like Babymetal xD
And Babymetal are just one metal idol group among dozens of others by the way
@@TheLeomarti This song sounds like Babymetal to me

Don't know much about them but I was told that they are a group of High School friends.
They came together through audition.
Notice a Maids hat on the drum kit not Akane so cool,I like this not sure it's an electric kit😮

It's like a heavier version of Lilygakkidan.
