Guys Please YOU ARE ALL WAISTING YOUR TIME ! I worked for BMW/BIB STILLWELL group in the factory's for 11 years in Tuning /programing THE ECU FOR THESE MODELS all your E60's from 2005 up to 2009 have sports mode manual shifting as standered ! + or - shifting is used at the drivers discretion if you do not change up the transmission will allow AUTOMATIC GEAR SELECTION AT ALMOST REDLINE RPM hence the "sport" ! Now if someone wants to know the reason why there is a sports light in the dash is also because we used the same dash/clusters in the 525i, 530i 540, 545i & the M5, that should answer all your questions. All this person was doing was bypassing the ECU coding telling the cluster that the transmission is in SPORT. BMW spend millions of dollars designing & developing something that works great but this video is basically saying they did not pass it on to the consumer, that would be silly now wouldn't it. Please do not try this as it is a MAJOR FIRE HASERD.
Good Work then. credit paid where it's due you got them all fooled..We produced the robots & conveyor systems in Pécsvárad, AAT-Várad Kft, they called "Gurtföderer" and "Übergang". that build these cars I coded the ECU's for these models personally Many many of them. But I forgot you know more. Don't' take my word for it, All you have to do is make one phone call to any BMW to see if you are right or I am ? better yet take the time to read you're Manuel !
+roskinc After reading that you should be embarrassed enough to delete this video but looks like you'll just continue to peddle your snake oil to idiots. How sad.
I have a 525d 2005, I can just push the gear to the left and make it manual. It takes the car to the rev that you like and no need to mess around with the car.
i have a 525i E60 and if i put it in drive then push the lever away from me the dash states its in MS mode which i assume is manual sports. If i push the stick up or down it just goes into manual mode.
I've just recently installed this on a 2005 e60 530D (UK) with 220,000 miles on it and can tell you it definitely makes a difference. Especially with the throttle. With both this sport button and D/S the result is fantastic! Mine is also remapped to 260BHP
This mod works. I have nothing to gain by posting this. I notice way more difference than just a lamp illuminating. Much quicker takeoff, car shifts much smoother, and the steering stiffens very noticeably. I notice the biggest difference when overtaking, much quicker reponse from gas pedal when passing others. Just enhances the car, by no means does it make it any more powerful. But he never claimed it would. 2006 530I automatic. I'm a believer!
LOL. Did you know that your gearbox has original "button" for it :D the M/S stands for Manual/Sport, when you shift it there it enables sport mode and does the same trick(gearbox allows for higher rpm's before shifting to next gear). It only enables manual mode when you actually use + or - to shift gears manually, just give it a try and you will see.
Not every car has that button. I have a 545i Sports Package, and it still only had the lever left for sports mode and not a button. The button came in later/newer models.
I can 100% confirm that this cable greatly improved the acceleration in my 2007 530i. I have the ZF auto transmission. The car accelerates much faster, along with much tighter steering when in the "Sport" mode that this button provides. "Sport" mode differs greatly (in a good way) from DS mode, the mode accessed with the gear shifter. Big improvement for a measly $30 and 30 minutes of my time.
The cable you sell is really nice. I installed it by drilling through that box after I split it open to see if I could clear the cable to the back, and it works great.
You put a lot of time into this video and made it very thorough. Keep it up. You will become very successful putting this amount of effort into your career!
So its a switch to turn the sport setting indicator on! Right so cool bro. One thing I have learnt about BMW's is just buy the right car. You found the car you like test drive it to the dealers and get the build sheet for it. Biggest reason for me is there are multiple stereo systems available to choose from, when the purchaser decides what options they want. Other than the stereo, everything else is just splitting hairs, because its such a sweet ride. Color and stereo.
Hey, the second time without "sport mode" you should have floored like you did the first time (where the pedal pushes that little button at the end of the pedal's travel).
Hey I bought this cable from you like 6 months ago and finally today I installed.. And I must say: thanks bud, I have a 2004 545i and it made a very drastic change.. The transmission just works completely different... I really like it... I noticed you came up with a new button but I just needed to try this and I'm very satisfied with it... Also very easy to install.... Thanks again..
Unless you're just messing with us, with sport mode turned on I'm hearing the engine wind up a lot higher in between shifts. That's not subjective, that's the engine spinning up to take advantage of the torque available in highers RPM's that you don't normally get to use. I believe this is for real. I say this because my 2002 325cic has a lot of grunt up near the redline, so that's where you want to be for more power. Thanks for the video, dude!
This mod is different than putting the automatic in D/S mode! This is a feature that is aviable in newer BMW's. This is the same as putting the car in 'sport or sport+' like in the F-series BMW. Disabling the 'sport mode' puts the car back in 'comfort mode'. Later, BMW added 'ECO mode' aswell to the F-series. So what does it do in Sport mode? Better throttle respons and maybe a bit havier steering (since the E60 has a hydraulic steering, it's already heavier), etc like the sport+ in the F-Series BMW.
With it on, you can notice how it's shifting around 5,600-5,800 RPM, and despite camera error, you can still see it shifting around the 1:00 mark of the gauge, or roughly 4,000 RPM. Higher RPM = higher engine output; more "butt dyno" is not bad for a $14 mod; I've spent more on women and didn't even get a kiss. I'm commenting as someone with automotive common sense; I am NOT affiliated with roskinc in any way, shape or form, but I'm willing to buy from him once I buy a BMW next month.
Hey guys! There is no difference but the shifting. It goes on the 2nd gear at 6-7k rpm, that's why it makes an illusion that it goes way better and faster. And what about the steering wheel, I have a clue that it goes more adaptive to the faster speed so it look like more tighter when you're turning around it. Same with the automatic adaptive gearbox (google about it) which let you run on the 1st gear to the red rpm section (7-9k) and it only shifts your gear while you're releasing the pedal and pushing it back again so it jumps from 1 gear to the 3-4-5-6 gear. Real Sport mode will eat your gasoline like a crazy. It will consume all your fuel tank for some just 100km ride. So don't be blind! :)
DS improves the shifting only, sport mode also alters the throttle and steering. I just tried this mod and it's not only simple, but it did improve my track times. I felt a difference on my 05 545i with ram air and supersprint exhaust. Great Tut!
OMG, just do it through moving from auto to manual, the only thing this does is hold the revs higher before changing up, it can't change the steering at all, that's your brain thinking it is just because you put a switch in, but what do I know when I have only been a BMW technician for 25 year.
Craig you may need to ask your boss for a few bmw technical courses. You are wrong. In E60s without the normal (dumb) hydro steering, Sport mode changes the steering.
Yes and a lot of E60's came with the Active Steering. It allows the steering to be easier to use in slower speeds, like for parking. And tightens up the steering weight/feel at higher speeds to give you a better, sportier feeling, without sacrificing comfort at slow and normal speed's...
+Craig Garnett Sport and DS are completely different; Dynamic sport. You've been there 25 years and have never read an e60 user manual? Smfh. Sad, you should be fired. +
Im really happy there still are young men who can work with his own car. Respect i have m-sport E60 too but manual , gonna try it when i have some time :)
No. Auto gear lever to left for Sport only takes revs higher and quickens changes. Separate Sport button tightens steering and improves accelerator response as well.
Philip Blakemore but if he slaps the gear to the left which means "manual" shifting for a triptronic transmission, he can control the cars rpm however he wants and can shift at a higher rpm
Berk Gosteren that's true for tiptronic but it looks like he has normal auto box. So moving lever to left would give "sport" auto if you leave it or manual if you move up / down.
ayni aractan bendede vitesten sport rejime aldigin zaman ds yazior burda oldugu gibi sport yazmior onunda tek esprisi 7 binde vites degistiriyor burda ise lexuslarda oldugu gibi arac sport seriye gectigi zaman kimlik degistiriyor:)
I bought a sport mode button from this guy back in 2015. He is legit, I installed it in a 2007 530xi. Yes it worked, yes it made a difference in performance
If the mod changes the steering weight as well so you can use the "manual shifting" mode with enhanced steering feel then this is very worthwhile. From what I can gather this may be part of the "sports automatic transmission" option. What's more it's possible that when the sports buttons is pressed that the box may "auto blip" when changing down in manual shift mode....anyone checked this out?. Whatever the above it's a nice find. .
Brought this kit the other week for my bmw 525D and got to say it works great just like he says when Sport mode is on the steering hardens and goes faster. Thanks Roskinc going to try and fit the Dension Gateaway 500S next.
It worked...definitely keeps the RPMs up, shifts faster, and a lot more peppier. Was surprised. Definitely worth the time to do the mod... I have a '06 525i.
@@user-oq3lv6lv7x clearly these people have tried that and found that the new button makes a much bigger difference so please stop trying to stick up for the people who claim they work for bmw and this isnt true. If so many people have tried it and say it works then maybe bmw is hiding features to control costs while not changing anything on the assembly line?
The sport mode just sharpens up throttle response, it shifts faster and it will rev before it puts in the next gear, nothinh strange about it. I have driven a bmw 760Li for 1500 km with this functionality, it has comfort, normal, sport and sport plus mode. in the comfort mode it doesn't change gear more than absolutely necessary which isn't often as you have 750 Nm of torque between 1500 and 5000 rpm :-)
It sharpens the throttle response, giving the impression of more power. While the same effect can be achieved by putting your right foot down harder, it does more than 'absolutely nothing'.
personally i have only tried this on my car. but from what ive read online, i havnt seen a case where this didnt work on a e60 regardless of model e60. its such a cheap and easy mod, its worth a try.
At the pedal there is a click called kick down if you press the gas pedal all the way down it will go in sport mode automatically but you must also switch the automatic gearshift to SD
I thought on the e60s that in order to go into sport mode you just push the shifter to the left for auto shifting but if you don't auto shift on the dash it says s so I figured that was for sport mode am I wrong? And what he's doing here is more of a transmission sport mode maybe? I'm not sure I'm on my first BMW now and it's a 2010 E60 with the n54
This mode is on basically all BMW steptronic automatics just sled it over where the manual stuff is and not move it up or down after and it should be in sport mode
There's haters everywhere Roskinc. Forget that fool keep up the good work. You just trying to share the e60 goodness without having to pay the German price. Everything works like you said. Waiting to see what you got next.
I tried this mod ages ago, and honestly, there is no difference in anything, just placebo effect, and a whole forum thread about this agree on that. Cars with sports driving mode have aditional hardware, different gearbox, and different software, etc. This only enables the "sports" text in the dashboard nothing else. That text is there simply because BMW uses the same cluster and other parts in different platforms, there was no e60 with this "sports" mode option from factory, that was only intended for 3 series.
Roberto Merino What E60 do you have? I have a 545i and i can tell you that my car drives completely different. The throttle response is sharper and the gear changes are more aggressive, under brakes the car will shift down on its own to a much lower gear then normal, aiding in reducing speed into a corner but also being ready to accelerate back out. The normal M/S Mode does not even respond as quick, even if i manually select. Both the gearbox and the Engine management have pre installed software settings to do with mapping of accelerator position vs throttle and gear change parameters. all E60 run on there default setting and if you had bought a E60 with the M pack options this sports mode would be included. All this would do would allow you to toggle between its default settings or its second set of settings. it makes sense that BMW would do this as it means they don't have to add additional hardware as its just software based and only add the switch to the vehicles optioned under the M banner, it keeps the costs down. its no different to adding in options like opening and closing windows from the key fob which is a stranded feature on a 545i but not on a base E60 but with a recoding of the software all E60's can do it. they all share common modules, wiring harnesses etc. all car manufactures do this.
bo05ts I have a 535d M packet. The thing is that this "sports mode" was never offered for the e60 as an option. So it seems the software side is not present in the hardware, even if the switch in the cluster is present (as the cluster pcb is the same the use in the e90 and others). Closing windows with key fob was present from factory on mine, it is standard on the E60, only depending on Region. That is a different story.
Roberto Merino have a read of this, 04_E60 Driveline.pdf - M5board.com It explains the E60 driveline setup and how all the control modules work together and the FDC (Sports mode) you will see that all the required hardware is present along with the software in all E60's. The only thing missing is the switch to trigger it all as i mentioned earlier.
+bo05ts Thank you so much for your knowledge. I am a soon to be a proud owner of a 2005 545I in which I will use this mod to install and engage a sport mode switch. I googled and read the 04_E60 Driveline.pdf which confirms on page 11/20 the "Sports" button mode option. Again, thank you.
Thank you for validating my assertion. Mr roskinc won't like to see this because he builds and sells the cable to do this "Sport Light" add. I just wanted to make sure that people knew what they were buying. But you all should buy this... if you want to feel sporty.
Well Guys I've got a 535D Sport. Just so you know....... ALL THE SPORT MODE DOES IS IT KEEPS THE RAVES UP FOR LONGER!! It does not give you more power at all it does not change anything with the steering wheel what so ever!! This is the reason a manual version doesn't have a sport button because the RPM's are controlled by you. If you put the auto on on manual you can make it just as fast as with the sport version that this guy installed!
in the video i didn't say it will increase HP, the sport button IS a feature from factory, but to add it cost over $250 in parts alone i just show people how to do it cheap and on your own. the steering gets a little stiffer, and the throttle response better. of course the rpm shifting changes as well. the video shows ALL that, no tricks here, look at my other videos, im just here to show people how to do cool stuff to their e60's, not trying to get people to do anything to waste their time.
I have a momentary switch / cable on order. Where can I get those fancy cleated cable ends? I feel for you having to deal with these ignorant comments. DS does not equal SAT, which is what you're unlocking by shorting 8 and 10. SAT changes steering, auto shift points, gear changes become more 'dramatic' and throttle response increases beyond DS.
Pretty much this is for when somebody wants to race him, he can hit the button on fly to put into like a race mode which pretty much just advances the ignition on the fly with out having to turn the round dial. Kool man. And for the people out there it's not hacking it's learning ur car after all its learning you.
It is. The same instrument cluster was used on all 5 series models including the M5. What the button does is bypass the ECU coding and allows redline rpms before shifting. Its a MAJOR fire hazard
2nd post... Wife loves to drive my car. Without her knowing I flipped on the sport mode. She says "I think something is wrong with your car". I said what did you do, she says it keeps jerking when I press the gas and it never did that before. What she called jerking was the pick up with the sport mode switched on. When I flipped it off for her she said yah thats better. She noticed a difference. When i told her what I had done to the car she said "oh cool, I dont like it".
well mr JOHN, i actually designed the e60, so i think i know a lot more than you. im actually in top secret development with BMW and nasa, we are producing the first flying cars reaching top light speeds, and of course, im adding a sport button.
What a bunch of stupid people, I know the BMWs cause I worked for the brand and I can tell this thing doesn't do shit guys. Think about it one minute, do you think BMW would put a sport mode on every serie 5 just for fun and wouldn't allow people to use it except with this tricky little cable? This cable is nothing but an illusion, all it does is turning the "Sport" light on, that's it, just a light, nothing more, and as you people are persuaded that it's magic, you have the impression that it changed, but it didn't. This "sport" light is present on every BMW e60-e61 as it is the exactly same dashboard on every serie 5, even if there is not sport mode. Jesus.
+BXtremP I just installed a cable today, and wouldn't you know, it works. Press button while cruising and it will immediately downshift so it goes up into higher rpms. The throttle response is much quicker. And when slowing down it will downshift earlier so the car is ready for hard acceleration once you clip an apex. :) In reality what costs money is for car makers is having to do things differently for each model, just better to keep the already programmed Sport mode for luxury models and just skip the button. And then you can charge $1000 extra for this luxury while we who have installed the button ourselves knows that it only costs $1 in reality. Volvo did the same thing, use the same engine for two differently priced models, just make sure you tune down the engine so it doesn't produce as much horsepower in the cheapo model. Really great for chip tuners who can unlock 30 hp with just a ROM upgrade.
because they do everything the same even if you didin`t bought the full options. Options are there but without "acces". With a trick like this you save a lot of money, just so you can have it from factory:)
Did my 05 525i made my own wires. To turn on I just touch wires together for a split second and and let go this is not a on off switch its a different kind of switch that's only active when you press it works great!
David thank u for ur kindness BUT my friend this button is ONLY for SMG. u can check other videos on youtube ---> "545 smg" and u can see the same "sport" flashing on cluster. by the way I dont think there will be difference in NORMAL automatic transmission shifting, because this SPORT mode is only for SMG
Had E90 330iA and this did exactly same as it was on sport mode vs normal. Those who doubt, look at the shiftpoints, engine really revs to limit with sport on.
Yes because all you have to do is when you put into drive while parked just press to the left, if you want shift yourself after you push to left push up into first gear, and down shift into 2nd etc. Dont mess up your car or buy anything.
Hi Stephen I have 2004 5.30d I have tried this but nothing happened.Do I need to do something different for diesel automatic? Sport doesny come up to cluster. Thnks
This alters the throttle response. Not the same thing as sport mode on the gearbox. I have a button on my M135i to change this. It comes with four modes. ECO PRO, COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+. I also have sport mode on the gearbox.
man why do you not press the gas when sport mode is off ?? to me it sounds like you allmost not press the gas at all ....but when you turn sport mode on you hit the gas ?? make a new video and show us that you hit the gas full in both mode ...!!!
@@arandomdeadmau5fan861 I have the 2006 525i and all you need to do is put the (automatic) shifter in drive then to the left without using the manual shift.
I was more meaning you don't NEED a sport mode for a manual, because you are a badass and can drop the clutch because you are a man and you drive stick. Not automatic like a 10 year old girl.
you should read the comments from the people who have USED this feature, and they can tell you first hand some difference...plus, its so cheap, why wouldnt anyone wanna try it out..after all arent we all after trying new things with our cars? have you used this feature? theirs always that 1 person who needs to act like they know what their talking about, and that 1 person seems to be you. but thanks for keeping my video alive with the comments!
Nice man ! ! ! This only works in models with a automatic gearbox, it makes your gearbox push the engine to 6 RPM. And no not only the M5 has this light, many of this auto gearboxes from BMW have this option, but not on the lighter models like 525i.
It's still short shifting from 3rd gear onwards. I have a 635d m pack and it learns your own style by using sport mode and using the manual option with paddle shift. Use it often enough and your car will learn your shift preference over s short period. Mine is a diesel with 386 PSI and 704 Nm due to remap. Don't even think of economy. It burns the oil quickly when you drive it with enthusiasm !
I have an e39. Is this possible for you to comment? On the forums it is not clear whether or not sport mode (moving the D to the gate on the left) will change the throttle curve or just simply put the Steptronic transmission into manual mode. If there is a better throttle response from stop to mid point, like the e60 I would like to do it. Where did you sourct that button and the BMW terminal ends? By the way, I really liked watching this video. I am a surgeon. You are so fast and also coordinated. Have you ever thought about going back to school and becoming a surgeon, or gynecologist?
so basically bmw charge for a button but all the 5 series have the option built in, its just bmw want to charge extra to say yes this one has the sports pack but really it just has that button, good vid
in my car at least i notice a difference between sport and ds (stick to the left). when used together, peddle get even more sensitive, my passengers even notice right away when i use both DS and sport at the same time.
Awesome, received fast, installed fast, and it's sick. Installed on a 2006 550i, very noticable change in Steering, Exhaust, Trans, RPM's.... Good Job, Awesome Product.... Just Ordered for another bimmer, Thanks
Putting "Turbo" or "Sport" sticker on is way easier/cheaper and yet somehow produces the same result.
Dont mess with e60 electronic or she will bite

I messed with him and he bit
Installed this option 2 years ago. Still doing fine thanks Roskinc

What are u doing? 😂😂🤣😂you lost me once u started taking apart the dash
DS improves the shifting only, sport mode also alters the throttle and steering. I just tried this mod and it's not only simple, but it did improve my track times. I felt a difference on my 05 545i with ram air and supersprint exhaust. Great Tut!
Just got his installed on my 06' 525i and it works just like you said. Install was easy thanks to this video!
Craig Garnett did not weight the steering but transforms throttle response and gear box changes
sumiix hope you learned your lesson from bill cosby
Im really happy there still are young men who can work with his own car. Respect i have m-sport E60 too but manual , gonna try it when i have some time :)
if you take gear to left you have the same mode as sport you do not need anything more...
Philip Blakemore THE CAR IN THE CLIP HAVE STEPTRONIC GEAR BOX,TIPTRONIC IS FOR AUDI NOT BMW!BMW USE STEPTRONIC GEAR BOX NOT A NORMAL AUTOMATIC!
I bought a sport mode button from this guy back in 2015. He is legit, I installed it in a 2007 530xi. Yes it worked, yes it made a difference in performance
Is it still available for purchase?
@@zelimfiregerikhanov3067 I have no idea.
Is the car is lci ?
@@DiroxBenchamrks it was pre lci
Percy G that’s was d/s mode is for...
The interior is so gorgeous. Omg that leather finishing with wood.
How about just buying a manual car if you want this kind of stuff? :)
personally i have only tried this on my car. but from what ive read online, i havnt seen a case where this didnt work on a e60 regardless of model e60. its such a cheap and easy mod, its worth a try.
how's that different from the DS mode you can select with the steptronic gearbox?
What is the ds mode ?
@@jaredlazaro4289 the ds mode is the sport mode right next to drive. You just got to shift down to drive the left on drive and u will be in sports
At the pedal there is a click called kick down if you press the gas pedal all the way down it will go in sport mode automatically but you must also switch the automatic gearshift to SD
So would it make a difference to use the sport button AND the DS mode?
TwasButNowAint you can do both but too sensitive for my taste but does work
Huge difference
I thought on the e60s that in order to go into sport mode you just push the shifter to the left for auto shifting but if you don't auto shift on the dash it says s so I figured that was for sport mode am I wrong? And what he's doing here is more of a transmission sport mode maybe? I'm not sure I'm on my first BMW now and it's a 2010 E60 with the n54
This mode is on basically all BMW steptronic automatics just sled it over where the manual stuff is and not move it up or down after and it should be in sport mode
yep!
Tyler Walter you can tell difference between sport and shifting to left. Almost the same but you can feel some
Difference
Again, thank you.
pn
Thank you for validating my assertion.
Mr roskinc won't like to see this because he builds and sells the cable to do this "Sport Light" add. I just wanted to make sure that people knew what they were buying.
But you all should buy this... if you want to feel sporty.
Can you make a tutorial on how to create that button/cable?
Well Guys I've got a 535D Sport.
Just so you know.......
ALL THE SPORT MODE DOES IS IT KEEPS THE RAVES UP FOR LONGER!! It does not give you more power at all it does not change anything with the steering wheel what so ever!! This is the reason a manual version doesn't have a sport button because the RPM's are controlled by you. If you put the auto on on manual you can make it just as fast as with the sport version that this guy installed!
in mine I have an 07 the steering wheel gets a lot stiffer and it feels like im driving a go kart and the throttle response is better
Does this work on Corolla?
+julanda 101 it sure does, works on any car, improves fuel economy, your hair grows back, etc.
I want to buy the cable! can u guide me please!
julanda 101 tried on my prius. turns straight into a supra. im guessing itll work for all toyota
Forty Seven tranformers allspark powah!
Confirmed on a 07 honda odyssey
Well to all the people say this does not work. I have just fitted this to my 545i. I works! simple!
in the video i didn't say it will increase HP, the sport button IS a feature from factory, but to add it cost over $250 in parts alone i just show people how to do it cheap and on your own. the steering gets a little stiffer, and the throttle response better. of course the rpm shifting changes as well. the video shows ALL that, no tricks here, look at my other videos, im just here to show people how to do cool stuff to their e60's, not trying to get people to do anything to waste their time.
Not evening going full throttle in non sport mode. Convenient that this guy is selling a product and making a video on it
I have a momentary switch / cable on order.
Top Gear top tip, sport buttons make the car worse!
It's a placebo effect until you show some hard facts.
My 2004 520i working great with Sports mode. LED button on dash, just need bit more drilling. Thanks for the video.
There's a sucker born every minute.
It is. The same instrument cluster was used on all 5 series models including the M5. What the button does is bypass the ECU coding and allows redline rpms before shifting. Its a MAJOR fire hazard
You're just too cheap to buy it and try it first before you open your mouth and disrespect people. You're the sucker.
That’s Insane ! What a difference! Excellent Video
In reality what costs money is for car makers is having to do things differently for each model, just better to keep the already programmed Sport mode for luxury models and just skip the button.
+bethlabortionclinic another person claimed a "sport mode" icon showed up in the cluster with this sport mode button, does it for you?
+McBiggie1 Yes, it lights up in the instrument cluster.
because they do everything the same even if you didin`t bought the full options. Options are there but without
"acces". With a trick like this you save a lot of money, just so you can have it from factory:)
+bethlabortionclinic I tried moving the shifter to the left and the exact same things happened. weird
Did my 05 525i made my own wires. To turn on I just touch wires together for a split second and and let go this is not a on off switch its a different kind of switch that's only active when you press it works great!
Nice duude)) but what if just to shift transmissoin mode into S mode?
David thank u for ur kindness BUT my friend this button is ONLY for SMG. u can check other videos on youtube ---> "545 smg" and u can see the same "sport" flashing on cluster. by the way I dont think there will be difference in NORMAL automatic transmission shifting, because this SPORT mode is only for SMG
doesnt work. it only lights up the sport led on the instrument panel.
Then you did it wrong, or something is broken
@@sumiix I'm surprised you didn't tell him to read his manual, if he has one....
Good video. Just turn ON the Lights so the rpm is visible.
"How do you put it into sport mode?"
Well, it's complicated..
Had E90 330iA and this did exactly same as it was on sport mode vs normal.
Those who doubt, look at the shiftpoints, engine really revs to limit with sport on.
Does this work on the 535D 2004 TwinTurbo m sport?
Yes because all you have to do is when you put into drive while parked just press to the left, if you want shift yourself after you push to left push up into first gear, and down shift into 2nd etc. Dont mess up your car or buy anything.
Plus your winning with the twin turbo, im sure you kill the road in regular drive mode LoL
One thing that is different that u can hear for sure is the shifts on the transmission way more aggressive with the button on..
He
can you do it wtih the 535D.
Rmj-audio Hifi no :(
Man I did my 06 525i yesterday and i love it so far
Works on 535d on 2006.steering comes more heavy.seems to work x
more responsive
Stephen Catt hey i have 335d 2006, did you try that? why would bmw hide that!?? how do u know it works?
Hi Stephen
I have 2004 5.30d I have tried this but nothing happened.Do I need to do something different for diesel automatic? Sport doesny come up to cluster. Thnks
hakan sucak it has to be automatic.
hakan sucak I have the same thing. I don't see anything in on the dispay... Don't know what do to :-( 2007 525da
Nice for the poster to find a "Type-R" logo in the cluster.
does it work for 2004 BMW 530I
Have you tried this shit? Any results?
ALUMNI2K yes work on bmw530i 2004!
Only on SMG transmission
This is why I found an e60 with a 6 speed. Makes an everyday saloon feel a little more special. I dont know what sport mode could do in my car.
All these is doing is turning sport mode on with out shifting it left
This alters the throttle response. Not the same thing as sport mode on the gearbox.
I have a button on my M135i to change this. It comes with four modes. ECO PRO, COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+.
I also have sport mode on the gearbox.
These videos are great for learning how to R&R interior bits for whatever you are up to...Thanks Rosk!
on manual, very little results
the different is there, some people don't believe, but look at my feedback, it works
man why do you not press the gas when sport mode is off ?? to me it sounds like you allmost not press the gas at all ....but when you turn sport mode on you hit the gas ??
make a new video and show us that you hit the gas full in both mode ...!!!
same thought man i have a 530 and the sport button crap is the same when i flat foot it
I agree he didn’t press it
From what I'm noticing the transmission shift pattern goes to 4000 in normal mode and 6000 in sport mode. But you can also do that in DS manual mode.
@@arandomdeadmau5fan861 I have the 2006 525i and all you need to do is put the (automatic) shifter in drive then to the left without using the manual shift.
FACEPALM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for this DIY. It took me half an hour to get it done. I used pins from my old PC fan to connect to #8 and #10 of the module.
There is no "sport" mode for a manual.. Lol
Are you blind? You can clearly see the relatively old automatic gearbox lever... Not to mention the whole driving part.
as you can see it's automatic gearbox! IDIOT :DDDD
There is for a gtr
I was more meaning you don't NEED a sport mode for a manual, because you are a badass and can drop the clutch because you are a man and you drive stick. Not automatic like a 10 year old girl.
VONTE CROMBIE
Habe das bei E60 Baujahr 2003 eingebaut und das funktioniert 👍 klasse Arbeit
i made it in a e60 530 d and it works
you should read the comments from the people who have USED this feature, and they can tell you first hand some difference...plus, its so cheap, why wouldnt anyone wanna try it out..after all arent we all after trying new things with our cars? have you used this feature? theirs always that 1 person who needs to act like they know what their talking about, and that 1 person seems to be you. but thanks for keeping my video alive with the comments!
What a little sneaky ninja... You are good...
Nice man ! ! ! This only works in models with a automatic gearbox, it makes your gearbox push the engine to 6 RPM. And no not only the M5 has this light, many of this auto gearboxes from BMW have this option, but not on the lighter models like 525i.
Several 525i's on here claim it worked for them as well. I have one and am about to try this.
Just installed the new sport mode cable worked awesome thx.
Have you ever thought about going back to school and becoming a surgeon, or gynecologist?
damn you disassembled the dash so quickly, a thought it would be more complicated since it's a bmw
so basically bmw charge for a button but all the 5 series have the option built in, its just bmw want to charge extra to say yes this one has the sports pack but really it just has that button, good vid
for a 525 it sounds sick. nice wheels too
Shorting pin 8 to 10 gives you a pretty "Sport" light. It will make you feel quite sporty, but it won't do anything else.
in my car at least i notice a difference between sport and ds (stick to the left). when used together, peddle get even more sensitive, my passengers even notice right away when i use both DS and sport at the same time.
Cheers mate I have a 520i and used your item and your description is perfect. Thanks. Also I live in England so your internationally known.
Man I love the e60 5 series. Going to buy one in the near future.
Awesome, received fast, installed fast, and it's sick. Installed on a 2006 550i, very noticable change in Steering, Exhaust, Trans, RPM's.... Good Job, Awesome Product.... Just Ordered for another bimmer, Thanks
