Im going with the Santa Fe! Me as a truck owner have been looking into downsizing from a 1500 to either a mid-size truck or a slightly bigger than mid-size SUV. This would be the only SUV outside of a truck that I would think about getting. Of course it boils down to pricing for me at that point which might eliminate the Santa Fe for me unfortunately
I was sold on the Sorento - then I saw the Santa Fe a few weeks ago at the release event, and I'll order a Sante Fe as soon as pre-orders open - for my purposes the Santa Fe is hands down a better option. Thanks for the Santa Fe videos - I've enjoyed your series.
I love these 2! i keep switching back and forth. But as of right now, Sorento because I dont like it when the signal lights are on the bottom. And I prefer the size of the Sorento as well. BUT design wise, I love them both. And you need more subscribers!
Both are great designs. I would like to see the production version of the XRT Santa Fe. That being said, the Sorento has been out for a couple more years giving it a likely advantage for reliability vs a 1st year all-new vehicle.
Kia just nails the exterior design so well. I got a Telluride back in 2020 the day it was available in Washington. I love that car so much, the exterior design with how boxy it is was perfect. The Sorento is also great but a bit too small for me now. I'm liking a lot about the Sante Fe except the rear end, just so goofy looking. But they do have a lot of great interior design ideas that Kia needs to adapt, like the center console storage area, the dual wireless charging, the dual glove box area, etc. Despite the rear end, I think I'd go Sante Fe over the Sorento.
The design on the Kia is more coordinated rather than that deliberate frenzy for a new design. But I have to say that there are so many new creature on this brand new Santa Fe which really make it attractive.
Both are great good looking cars. Korea's brands are showcasting very good products. That also includes it's technology industry. Solid brands out there.
Thank you so much for this comparison video. It's great to see these sister cars next to each other. For me, Kia's advantage is the better fuel mileage (I think) and that enormous sunroof. The Santa Fe has the better and bigger interior and large rear windows for the 2nd and 3rd row seats.
Thank you for the excellent side by side video, and pointing out all the good points of each vehicle. I am thinking of purchasing one or the other, but after watching this video I am leaning towards to the Santa Fe. Hope you and your well wife are doing well!

Reading your comment, I did cover this with my last vid on Santa Fe, thanks. There is no spare tire for domestic models - it's been the way for quite some time now on all HMG cars - yet there is a space reserved for one underneath (seems that way, it could be the space for AWD system though).
Here in Australia, the current Santa Fe's have been coming with a full size spare wheel, so helpfully they will continue to do so for the Aussie spec ones. One of the big bonus points for the car here because of the distances to be covered. @@CarSceneKorea
Awesome work .. thank you. I can't wait to see the test drive for the Sorento plug-in hybrid. Do you think it will be available any time soon ? Thanks again
Santa Fe precisely was designed with that in mind since Koreans are really big on golf. It was demonstrated by Hyundai that you can load golf bags horizontally without drivers.
Around 67L. There is remote parking assist, where you can pull the car in and out with a remote. Spare tire will most likely be there for the US models, sure do hope there would be dual exhaust tips 🤞
Hi brother I want to ask There is no much difference in the boot space of these vehicles. Seems like sorento is more longer. After third row u didn’t show the sorento so I can do the diffenciate between them.
I really hope Hyundai changes their mind and include the Black Ink to come to the US! Also, I hope they have the windows tented! It really makes the Santa Fe look even better!
You will get what you see on Black Ink to the US as well, just not labeled as Black Ink atm. The Calligraphy models will have blacked out badges and wheels available as options. Seems like that's how Hyundai USA is going to play for the time being.
This comparison is very similar to the Palisade versus Telluride debate. Over here in the U.S. Kia Telluride is outselling the Palisade, primarily due to the Kia having a more appealing exterior design. I chose the Palisade because it just has a way more usable and practical interior. And it looks like this theme is continuing with the new Santa Fe and Sorento.
@rocelioussmith8266 The starting price of the two are the same, unless someone wants to say that a few hundred dollars will actually sway their vote? Additionally, the top Telluride trim (sx prestige) now costs $770 more than the top palisade trim (calligraphy). The Telluride does not give you more options for the money, it gives you less. The gear selector is personal preference, where the kia gives you a traditional shifter. Palisade gives you the push buttons that people love to hate. But the button layout of the hyundai is what allows you to have massive storage space in the center. You also get power folding 3rd row seats with the hyundai. Etc. Trust me, I've weighed all the pros n cons METICULOUSLY before choosing the palisade. I'm very confident in saying that the kia is outselling because it has a more rugged boxy design. Just my 2 cents.
Well, I can't stand Palissade's Front and rear ends ! That grill is a bit too much ! In Canada Palissade Ultimate Caligraphy has almost the same price as the mid entry level Telluride SX ! Top trim Tellurides (X-Line, X-Pro) are roughly 4 to 6k more expensive and feature a better dashboard layout (dual 12.5 screens) compared to the Pallissade's 2019 carried over one !
Think Hyundai would give us a genuine product, which will have solved all those problems. I don’t see bumpers being much of a problem to install a tow hitch.
Hi... asking about the Santa Fe space between the rear wheel wells because we need to transport 2 adult mobility scooters. They are each 22 inches wide. So I really need 44.5 inches to load them next to each other. Hope this is a clearer question. ? Width at carpet level between read wheel wells please. Thank you.
Dropped this comment on your last comment, hope this clears things up. 42.5in perhaps? Is this what you are looking for? (timestamped, so will take you there right away.) th-cam.com/video/ooImNqpcDak/w-d-xo.html
@CarSceneKorea YES. THANK YOU. I watched it again. Saw you. My wife says your video is the best we have found. I am 85. She is 82. We have already contacted a dealer and want this car. Why? Safety and everything you mentioned. We will buy 2 more adult 4 wheel mobility scooters, The Scout model, which are only 19.7 inches wide. We carry the Golden Buzzaround EX scooters now in our 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500HD. We agree with your enthusiasm. The car looks unbelievable. Thank you very much.
In terms of exterior - 2024 Kia Sorrento In terms of interior - 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Now I'm not saying that Sorrento has a bad interior and Santa Fe has a bad exterior. But when you compare both these cars with each other, you can tell which thing is comparatively better in which car 🙏
HEV in Wolf Gray. The wife is waiting to see if the 2024 HEV will come in wolf gray. Then it's a done deal. It's a popular color in my area. Don't understand why it's not in the Sorento HEV.
With the second and third row seats laying down flat, what is the distance from the back of the driver’s chair to the back of the boot? I want to know if I can lay down in it. Thanks so much!
I currently have the Kia Carnival SX Prestige and want to go into a more SUV then a MPV. I like both designs of the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe but not sure which one to go with. I do go outdoor camping and need a vehicle that is good outdoors. Not sure but need help choosing.
Sante Fe. My Sante Fe is nearly a full time off-road vehicle. Wet fields, and mud and snow covered cottage lanes. 6 cyl AWD. Winter tires all year. High test gas. Undercoat if used in mud and snow. 260,000kms.
Good job on comparisons and measurements. One question on the measurements is how far out do the rear hatches extend past the bumper when open? Santa Fe looks to be almost 3 feet beyond the bumper, can that be? Compare to the Sorento open hatch? It will make a difference on what fits in my garage. Thanks, great job, best comparison I've seen.
That is precisely it. I actually did record some of that at the end of the video, but seems like it was cut off due to the camera angle. Santa Fe's trunk is much longer and larger than any other SUV out in the current market in its segment. But the good new is that you can manually set and control how much you'd like the trunk to open to prevent it hitting everything.
Overall , I like the Santa Fe and it's great new design 😃 and like you said , it's really practicality that wins ( for me ) , because of the roominess of the interior 👍😁😎
Just inked a deal on a 24 Sorento even tho del not expected in Canada for 4 months minimum. Traded in my 22 Telluride because great trade in value and wanted to down size just a little.

Do you think a tow hitch will work on a new Santa Fe? Seems like the bumper is really low, maybe too low for a tow hitch?
Think Hyundai would give us a genuine product, which will have solved all those problems. I don’t see bumpers being much of a problem to install a tow hitch.
A fully redesigned model will always look better than a refreshed one.
Hi... asking about the Santa Fe space between the rear wheel wells because we need to transport 2 adult mobility scooters.
(timestamped, so will take you there right away.)

My pleasure. Glad you found my video helpful! Enjoy your Santa Fe!
Any clue as to what the future Sorento would look like!
Thanks and greetings from San Jose, Costa Rica 👍
Glad you like it! 👍
What's the horizontal width between the two wheel wells inside the car? I wanna know if I can fit 4x8' plywood :)
Hope you found the answer to this by now, sorry for the late reply. If not, please refer to my earlier video, I have measurements.
Santa Fe is awesome and the new design is amazing!….❤❤❤
I was ready to buy a 2024 Santa Fe but realized they dropped the Plug-In version?! 😞 They made a great replacement for the Ford Flex.
In terms of exterior - 2024 Kia Sorrento
In terms of interior - 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe
Now I'm not saying that Sorrento has a bad interior and Santa Fe has a bad exterior. But when you compare both these cars with each other, you can tell which thing is comparatively better in which car 🙏
Santa Fe 6 ❤❤❤❤❤❤
How does this have a HUD but when I went to the dealership they said it doesn’t have one.
Is the 2024 sorento different than the 2025?
That could be the market difference or trim difference. Models I show are Korean, domestic models.
Is there a way to option either one without the third row, or are they standard that way. (Mainly for the NA market.)
There is the five seater configuration without the third row. Therefore you have a much larger trunk.
HEV in Wolf Gray. The wife is waiting to see if the 2024 HEV will come in wolf gray. Then it's a done deal. It's a popular color in my area. Don't understand why it's not in the Sorento HEV.
Sante Fe looks very nice 👍 great change to the rounded body style.
With the second and third row seats laying down flat, what is the distance from the back of the driver’s chair to the back of the boot? I want to know if I can lay down in it. Thanks so much!
It's at the end of the video :)
Hi brother
How many luggage can fit in both cars.
Can you show the difference?
Santa Fe has larger trunk space obviously, but Sorento is just as big. I don't have the cars for me to measure unfortunately 😭
Outdoor? Santa Fe hands down bc of that trunk alone. Watch my roof top tent Santa Fe vid.
Sante Fe. My Sante Fe is nearly a full time off-road vehicle. Wet fields, and mud and snow covered cottage lanes. 6 cyl AWD. Winter tires all year. High test gas. Undercoat if used in mud and snow. 260,000kms.
@@suzamac3260 I really was blown away by the Terrain modes with AWD, can't imagine what it'd be like with winter tires on :)
If the Sorento and the sante fe had a baby, I'd like that
For me I prefer the design of the Sorento even though it is a nice surprise the new Santa Fe.
Overall , I like the Santa Fe and it's great new design 😃 and like you said , it's really practicality that wins ( for me ) , because of the roominess of the interior 👍😁😎
Totally agree!
The Kia Sorento facelift can arrive in South Africa September & all new Hyundai Santa Fe October .
New is new though and in this case im chosing the new Sante Fe, no doubt about it👍👍 That said though, the new Sorrento is no slouch❗️
Great review, nice car from Hyundai KIA. Try get a camera guy.
I really wish I could afford a cam 🥲 Will get there one day, soon enough hopefully!
Can the co-pilot view the navigation so as to help the pilot/driver with directions?
I don't see any hardship involved there.
All new Santa Fe but as same platform as Sorento facelift. It’s an old platform, is it because they will design a new one for Kia Sorento next gen?
When can we expect your test drive of the new elantra N? it's been awhile since you said it'd be coming
I can finally tell you that I'm working on it now. I had priorities, thanks for waiting!
Can you do PHEV (EV only) range comparison of both please?
We do not get PHEVs in Korea unfortunately🥲
@@CarSceneKorea Oh, I didn't know that. Thank you for your reply
Simple, perfecto ando excelente video
Need to go over the space/leg room between them.
Will do in the future!
Just inked a deal on a 24 Sorento even tho del not expected in Canada for 4 months minimum. Traded in my 22 Telluride because great trade in value and wanted to down size just a little.
If you are willing to give up a bit of size, Sorento will actually be an upgrade in many ways! Congrats!
Any of the suvs have ambient lightings?
Both do. Santa Fe has quite a lot.
Do you know if they will give us the XRT concept?
Not exactly like the concept, but there will be the "production version" of it.
