Kia just nails the exterior design so well. I got a Telluride back in 2020 the day it was available in Washington. I love that car so much, the exterior design with how boxy it is was perfect. The Sorento is also great but a bit too small for me now. I'm liking a lot about the Sante Fe except the rear end, just so goofy looking. But they do have a lot of great interior design ideas that Kia needs to adapt, like the center console storage area, the dual wireless charging, the dual glove box area, etc. Despite the rear end, I think I'd go Sante Fe over the Sorento.
Im going with the Santa Fe! Me as a truck owner have been looking into downsizing from a 1500 to either a mid-size truck or a slightly bigger than mid-size SUV. This would be the only SUV outside of a truck that I would think about getting. Of course it boils down to pricing for me at that point which might eliminate the Santa Fe for me unfortunately
The design on the Kia is more coordinated rather than that deliberate frenzy for a new design. But I have to say that there are so many new creature on this brand new Santa Fe which really make it attractive.
I was sold on the Sorento - then I saw the Santa Fe a few weeks ago at the release event, and I'll order a Sante Fe as soon as pre-orders open - for my purposes the Santa Fe is hands down a better option. Thanks for the Santa Fe videos - I've enjoyed your series.
For someone who is younger ,doesn’t have a family, cares about elegant finishes , and doesn’t need too much space . Kia sorento is definitely for me ! love the boxed look of the Hyundai though

Both are great designs. I would like to see the production version of the XRT Santa Fe. That being said, the Sorento has been out for a couple more years giving it a likely advantage for reliability vs a 1st year all-new vehicle.

EV9 is a weak entry. Range is too short. 240 miles realistically in summer and 178 miles in winter. That means if you can't charge or don't want to spend time - trips one way limited to 120 miles in summer and 89 miles in winter. Even less if you only charge to 80-90%. That's ridiculous and exactly why we are not there yet with battery tech. We are looking at something as our next 3-row after Palisade in couple years, but EV9 is no longer considered. Hopefully by that time there will be at least real 300+ mile cars. EV9 also looks ugly. Kia should have learned some tricks from Genesis.
@@danguelph2676 Thank you for your opinions. Santa Fe precisely was designed with that in mind since Koreans are really big on golf. It was demonstrated by Hyundai that you can load golf bags horizontally without drivers.
Overall , I like the Santa Fe and it's great new design 😃 and like you said , it's really practicality that wins ( for me ) , because of the roominess of the interior 👍😁😎
Hi brother I want to ask There is no much difference in the boot space of these vehicles. Seems like sorento is more longer. After third row u didn’t show the sorento so I can do the diffenciate between them.
Awesome work .. thank you. I can't wait to see the test drive for the Sorento plug-in hybrid. Do you think it will be available any time soon ? Thanks again
Both look great! But I will go for SantaFE - I absolutely LOVE that cyberpunk design style, boxyness, practicallity. Shame that in Europe we will get just 1.6T, but atleast PHEV version.
This comparison is very similar to the Palisade versus Telluride debate. Over here in the U.S. Kia Telluride is outselling the Palisade, primarily due to the Kia having a more appealing exterior design. I chose the Palisade because it just has a way more usable and practical interior. And it looks like this theme is continuing with the new Santa Fe and Sorento.
@rocelioussmith8266 The starting price of the two are the same, unless someone wants to say that a few hundred dollars will actually sway their vote? Additionally, the top Telluride trim (sx prestige) now costs $770 more than the top palisade trim (calligraphy). The Telluride does not give you more options for the money, it gives you less. The gear selector is personal preference, where the kia gives you a traditional shifter. Palisade gives you the push buttons that people love to hate. But the button layout of the hyundai is what allows you to have massive storage space in the center. You also get power folding 3rd row seats with the hyundai. Etc. Trust me, I've weighed all the pros n cons METICULOUSLY before choosing the palisade. I'm very confident in saying that the kia is outselling because it has a more rugged boxy design. Just my 2 cents.
Well, I can't stand Palissade's Front and rear ends ! That grill is a bit too much ! In Canada Palissade Ultimate Caligraphy has almost the same price as the mid entry level Telluride SX ! Top trim Tellurides (X-Line, X-Pro) are roughly 4 to 6k more expensive and feature a better dashboard layout (dual 12.5 screens) compared to the Pallissade's 2019 carried over one !
With the second and third row seats laying down flat, what is the distance from the back of the driver’s chair to the back of the boot? I want to know if I can lay down in it. Thanks so much!
I was hoping to see a NEW Sorento but alas, it is the same as last year's except for some changes to the front end, maybe the taillights too. But the 2024 Santa Fe is totally new, very squared off like a little Tahoe.
I really hope Hyundai changes their mind and include the Black Ink to come to the US! Also, I hope they have the windows tented! It really makes the Santa Fe look even better!
You will get what you see on Black Ink to the US as well, just not labeled as Black Ink atm. The Calligraphy models will have blacked out badges and wheels available as options. Seems like that's how Hyundai USA is going to play for the time being.

There is no much difference in the boot space of these vehicles. Seems like sorento is more longer. After third row u didn’t show the sorento so I can do the diffenciate between them.
There nearly is no difference between the legroom, but Santa Fe is a clear winner when it comes to the head room.
Great video!!! What are the mpg comparison?
Didn't get it on this video, but both cars do provide more mpg than what's written on the paper.
All new Santa Fe but as same platform as Sorento facelift. It’s an old platform, is it because they will design a new one for Kia Sorento next gen?
No competition Santa Fa wins by a country mile
Is country mile longer than city mile? Who is Santa Fa?
Hi brother
How many luggage can fit in both cars.
Can you show the difference?
Santa Fe has larger trunk space obviously, but Sorento is just as big. I don't have the cars for me to measure unfortunately 😭
Awesome work .. thank you. I can't wait to see the test drive for the Sorento plug-in hybrid. Do you think it will be available any time soon ? Thanks again
Probably not because we never got PHEVs in Korea neither in Santa Fe nor Sorento 🥲
Both look great! But I will go for SantaFE - I absolutely LOVE that cyberpunk design style, boxyness, practicallity. Shame that in Europe we will get just 1.6T, but atleast PHEV version.
PHEV is the king! Really wish we'd get that here in Korea.
@@CarSceneKorea you don't get PHEVs? I thought Korea would be EV minded.
Speak for yourself. We bought Palisade specifically because we were surprised at how ugly Telluride looks.
@danguelph2676 Yes, he spoke for himself and not you, 🙄...
I think the Telliride sells more because of the price point, and the options you get for the price as compared to the Pallisade
Is there a way to option either one without the third row, or are they standard that way. (Mainly for the NA market.)
There is the five seater configuration without the third row. Therefore you have a much larger trunk.
How does this have a HUD but when I went to the dealership they said it doesn’t have one.
Is the 2024 sorento different than the 2025?
That could be the market difference or trim difference. Models I show are Korean, domestic models.
With the second and third row seats laying down flat, what is the distance from the back of the driver’s chair to the back of the boot? I want to know if I can lay down in it. Thanks so much!
It's at the end of the video :)
When you compete against yourself, everyone else wins.
Simple, perfecto ando excelente video
Love the serento over the Santa Fe
Nice objective comparison of 2 wonderful Suvs…will pick Santa Fe!! Like u said , more
Functionality. Thanks
Glad you like it! 👍
Sorento looks good, but what's the point of it now that the Santa Fe is just as big, if not bigger with similar tech??
I was hoping to see a NEW Sorento but alas, it is the same as last year's except for some changes to the front end, maybe the taillights too. But the 2024 Santa Fe is totally new, very squared off like a little Tahoe.
Its not a new look for a SUV. Its a copycat look of range rover type. Get the 2023! Far better looking original design vehicle!
I really hope Hyundai changes their mind and include the Black Ink to come to the US! Also, I hope they have the windows tented! It really makes the Santa Fe look even better!
Hopefully we will get the XRT trim!
Nah. Ghetto cars look lame.
You will get what you see on Black Ink to the US as well, just not labeled as Black Ink atm. The Calligraphy models will have blacked out badges and wheels available as options. Seems like that's how Hyundai USA is going to play for the time being.
@CarSceneKorea very nice! White with black trim looks good--!
Thanks for the update!
When will KIA produce a Sorento that is as open as the RR?
KIA should extend the ambient light to the rear door a little on the Sorento.
Something like on the Carnival.
السورنتو اكثر جمالا وكأنها سيارة رياضيه
كثيرون يفضلون تصميم سورينتو بالفعل :)
Sorento ❤
Which one has better ride quality in the third row seats?
I would say neither has great 3rd row, similar to many SUVs out in the market of the size.
Thank you @@CarSceneKorea, By the way I love Korean cars, I own 2 Hyundai cars i30 and Tucson Hybrid... and waiting for Santa Fe in Macedonia.
