    is it safe or I can just make my batteries parallel when they are in the same voltage and no need fot this extra risk circuit?

    I have triple22Ahx2+26AH Ebike 48v28ah controller. Under the seat i find they have double equalizer duel battery Yolin 48v30AH .. after 6 month only one battery is work the 2 other places is disabled... I open under the seat i see have problem with my 2 equalizer!!! Do you think it's not safety to use double( equalizer duel battery) for triple battery ebike ?

      Inrush current if the batteries have different voltages. One battery will also be charging the other VIA the discharging connector and if not both batteries have BMS that support same wire C/D it can lead to BMS failure or possiblly battery fire or overcharged cells. If the voltage is very different then uncontrolled charging can happen very fast and make the mosfets explode.

  • @antonc.4233
    @antonc.4233 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You didn't have to open the part to see that it was fake, you just need to read the description, it says both batteries should have the same charging voltage and both batteries should be off when you connect them, first of all, not all batteries have an on & off switch, secondly, what the part then makes sense compared to a simple Y-cable and then, still so expensive, there is also a so-called Dex2 or Dex3 adapter, where it doesn't matter what voltage which battery has and also that you can charge both at the same time via the adapter, but it costs from: 153 dollars is also rubbish for such a high price

    You need to get yourself a small rotary tool so you can easily just cut the cases off with a high degree of control (less than a minute and MUCH safer than what you did)

    It looks to me to be an ideal diode circuit. I use the ones made for solar panels for each home made battery. This is probably the same thing, but has two channels instead of one. Greetings from Dalarna

    • @leonvanengelen4806
      @leonvanengelen4806 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe usefull to note is that you can not really use two battery's to power something twice as powerfull in alle occasions, as they only work together if they are about the same state of charge. Ofcourse when a big load makes the voltage drop the second will kick in, but the load wont be divided equally

  • @ReallyBadVP

    I was expecting a LTC4355 Positive High Voltage Ideal Diode-OR chip on the board to control the fets.

  • @rickpercy87
    @rickpercy87 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    If you want to snap some close ups of the PCBA with the wires snipped I can reverse engineer that for you.
    If there isn't any marking on those fets I could make some assumptions.
    Have you got a contact email?
    In theory this could allow for a 13s1p (or more parallel obviously) extention (for 48V) system and it would split the load between the two batteries. I don't think you would necessarily wait for one battery to drain before it switches

      In fact I'd be really interested to know if this dual battery adapter really stops any cross-current flowing between two batteries with unequal state of charge (as ideal diodes would do) or if it just limits that cross-current down to "acceptable levels" (e.g. 1C as suggested in this other video for a similar module: th-cam.com/video/UUwUOcNe2-Q/w-d-xo.html). Would be great if you can test that in your upcoming video @Batteridoktorn

      Just use the old way works for me
      Build battery long time as voltage and the amp hours are the same good bms are safe
      Dont charge and plug charged battery separately allow 2 hours that the battery cool down 2a charge for long life

    • @MRMARKWIDDOWS20
      @MRMARKWIDDOWS20 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      they are safe, just stops 1 battery charging the other and discharge. So you can use 2 batteries on one bike. As for Voltage thats a given as batteries have to be the same as the bike. If you use a Y-cable and 1 battery is 48.2 v and 1 is 48.8v then the higher volt battery will charge the lower volt battery. This stops that and sends all current to the controller.

      @@ari1234. I Personally am very happy with it. Paid £48 for it at the time. Had 2 batteries one 54v 17ah and one 54v 20ah and the bigger battery was draining far more quickly powering my ebike and trying to charge the smaller battery at the same time. I was using a y-cable but then this stopped all that. Personal bonus had a bike thief stick a screwdriver in the external battery charge port and blow the battery and luckily this stopped the charge blowing my controller and other battery. Costed me a bms and fuse for 1 battery.
