I was taught to put one hand along the leading edge, centered between middle and first strut. Place other hand on the leading edge about the same distance above the second strut. holding the leading edge like this and pushing the center strut against the ground it should have very little give.?
Several guys pump until it's rock hard, aka until you can barely pump it up any further. I've done this for years, thinking it improves the stability of the kite. Wondering if this is ok.

Use your knee instead... u never know if there is something sharp that you are pushing against..

I would also say that when you can fold the tip like this it's too soft. I learn that you should not be able to bend the le very easily.
