Merci Dimitri car un simple vidéos qui montre comment rouler les lignes sur la bar ou comment plier un kite me prouve que je ne le faisais pas correctement donc merci de nous enseigner même les choses de base comme ceux ci ! COOL !
Dimitri, I don't think you explained why it's better to fold the kite over just rolling it? My thoughts had always been that a little bit of air movement through a rolled kite would make sure that it wouldn't get moldy if it sits for a while(I leave the zipper a little open as well when storing)? Or are you doing it to get a better fit in the bag? Or is there some reason I'm not thinking of?
Hi Dimitri, thanks for another great posts. Lately I was thinking about what is the best way to resolve a crash of two kites (like two kites crossing each other) in open water where you have no possibility to easily get out of the water to do it on land. I think it would be helpful to know what are the steps one should do in such a situation.
Excellent overview...thank you! One quick question: Regarding washing with fresh water... I've been washing my salt water gear in fresh for over 40 years -- my dad taught me as a young boy -- I'm new to kiting, and I'm wondering, what do most manufacturer's recommend, rinse or leave salty?
+Sowshul Media washing the kites with fresh water is ok once in a while. But it's always better to have some salt on the kite in order to keep the mildew away.
Hello Dimitrios, again regarding the fresh watering. What if have to folded it for a season period, eg 6-7 months. in fact the fresh water have already a small amount of salt. is it good ? thank you so much patrida.
hi Dimitri thanks for this, very helpful. Just could you remind me again, maybe you said it in the video but i didn't catch it, how is folding the kite better than rolling it?
Hello Minh Khoa Nguyen. This will be a great video to make because I see lots of people getting in trouble like that. But again it all depends on how your kite is tangled with the other kite. So in few words you have many situations. For example last week I was trying to help some one by getting his board back and he put his kite into my kite and started to panic. I told hi to relax and to keep his kite at 2 o'clock. While he was keeping his kite still at 2, I removed my leash from my bar and went towards him and put my bar between his lines while holding on the CL with one hand and grabbed it on the other side with the other hand. But all this time I was holding the CL with the bar being far from the CL so the kite is depowered. All this took 30 second at the most.
Thanks for the video. The only thing is, why is it better to fold rather then roll. If you roll material you don't have creace in it, but folding you will, then you risk the damage to the bladder and material over time. R&D cheers
You have different ways of packing your kite. If you are going to pack your kite for a long time then the best thing to do will be to fold it flat. If you are going to pack your kite away for few weeks only then you can roll it
When you folded the kite. The crease landed on a strut. I land mine in the middle. So the strut won't get crushed. I press the leading edge's seam to match the crease. Just like it came from the factory.
why do you remove the lines from the kite? you just have to put the back on when you set up.. such a waste of time to remove lines and why don't you just fold in half the you only have to roll once.. you need to rethink you packing technique
Hello Alex Sanz. I see you post a comment but then deleted. Your comment said why I remove the lines and don't keep the bar attached to the kite. Well you can do that if you want. But some times newbies might get confused. And if you are going to store your kite for a long period of time it's not good to have some thing hard in the canopy. Also you can always fold your kite in 1/2 if you want. It's all up to you.

Hi Dimitri, great video as usual. I've learned a lot from your kitesurfing videos. Keep them coming 😜👍👍👍👍👍
Great Video, good job and a big like
Doesn't folding create creases (which is bad)?
Depending if you roll it or fold it. But use the same idea you see on the video for the 3 strut kite.
