    Merkur does it again! Great offering for someone who wants a taste of world time flavor. I thought the handset legibility was a little rough too, but wondered if it was the video lighting…thanks for confirming in your commentary.

    • @WristWatching
      @WristWatching  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’ve really been hitting it out of the park this year. So many great designs, it’s hard to choose just one! I was struggling to film the handset. Tried different lighting angles but they just kept disappearing. They’re also not super legible under sunlight, but I didn’t really mind because it just looks gorgeous 🤣

  • @WristWatching

    After editing this video, I realised this Merkur takes design cues from the Patek Philippe World Time. That’s a $150,000 watch!

  • @Time4Life321
    @Time4Life321 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I’m not sure. Something about this world timer is not doing it for me. Maybe it’s the hands, the world in the center or the automatic movement which I’m not familiar with. But something is not jiving with me. But that’s ok. How boring would be if we all wanted the same watch. Another good review my friend. Keep up the great work.

    I just received this watch today and it looks fantastic. However I noticed that some time locations are not showing the correct time unfortunately. For example, in Mauritius it is 2 hours later then in Geneve. But on the watch it states 3 hour difference. Am I tripping or does yours have this too?

    • @WristWatching
      @WristWatching  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right, I've seen this in some other affordable models too. Guess the world time function is too complicated to execute properly on a watch at this price point.

    • @JHualas

      There is no error. Mauritius Island does not change its time (does not use Daylight saving time) but Europe does. So between late November to late March it's 3 hour difference, otherwise 2 hour difference.

      Yeah it’s a manual thing. I think it’s a way for them to bring that functionality to a regular 3-handed movement while keeping the price low, compared to using a GMT movement. Merkur uses Chinese movements too, and I’m not sure if there is a Chinese mechanical GMT movement out there.

    The biggest con of this watch is that they slapped an African map in the center instead of a world map. According to some people who have contacted Merkur, it's because the African map is a triangle and looks more symmetrical. I don't buy it; I need a world map on it!
