One of the best explanations about the Mass that I've ever heard. Unfortunately many Catholics do not understand what the Mass is all about. I was one of them, until God revealed it to me slowly, many receive the same revelation but they refuse to accept it.
It's a blessing being called to Mass, people don't know how lucky they are. I live in a country where there are not many Catholic churches that we can go, If I could I'd go every single day.

So true. I started investigating the Catholic church about Aug. last year, and was baptized just this past Easter. You have to take an active role in knowing your faith, over expecting your priest to show you it all.. because every mass I've been too, something new pops up and its like my first mass all over again. Its great! In fact, when I went to see the cathedral, I kept trying to leave after an initial scan of the place, but something kept me there.. and then, they held the 1215p Mass. And I cried during the sacraments.. something told me to PAY ATTENTION, and then within a week I learned exactly what happens during the sacraments and cried all the more. I decided to hand my life to my Lord Jesus, whom I've loved all my life.. from Mormon to Catholic - so glad I have. I absolutely adore Adoration.. my heart aches millions of Catholics do not believe He is among us. A precious gift they need to wake UP & see! Or rather, feel.

The enemies (modernists & heretics) of the Holy Mother Church will never prevail. Those Church leaders who suppress the Holy Traditions, especially the Old Roman Latin Rites of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will never, never prevail.

This is very rich in many ways.
What really jumped out for me was at 13:18 and beyond. I have never, ever thought of preparation for Holy Mass in this way:
"Our entire life must become an act of preparation and thanksgiving for Holy Communion ..."
Most of us (can) only assist at Mass on Sundays. To spend the whole week, every minute of it, in preparation to receive Our Lord and to thank Him for His marvelous gift ... well that is almost a revolutionary thought for me.
    Thank you very much Father.
Thank you very much Dear Jesus!

God is the Holy Ghost who allows the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to occur to begin with. It is His Son that is rendering the due worship that is required to occur during this process. It is His Son that leads everyone in participation to render unto God what is God's. The priest starts the process (of leadership and worship) but Jesus takes over when directed by God. But then there will be the choir that is praying (in chant) as the priest continues to lead the people in prayer and worship. To think otherwise is to have been misguided.

At the beginning of December 2019 I suddenly started feeling drawn back to the Catholic Church. Which I have rejected for all of my life and never considered myself a Catholic or even a believer. I was saved 4 years ago and was by definition Protestant. I was so against the Catholic Church, it was what drove me away from Christianity. I loved the modern music! It felt so natural and easy going. Then came last December and I don't know why and how but I couldn't stop thinking about the Catholic Church. I felt the deep need for tradition, for something set apart, something that's respectful and not a party. I started researching and found out about Vatican II. I went to a modern Catholic Mass - meh. A few weeks later I went for the first time to a Latin mass. Didn't even know it existed a few weeks ago. It felt right. It felt holly. It felt it was about God and not about us. I even had confession for the first time in 22 years! The Catholic Church I hated was not the one prior to 1962! It was the modern one which was the only one I knew. But it really doesn't feel like the same church. Why are there 2 Catholic churches? How do we bring back the Latin mass? It's so rare now and most people don't even know about it, like I didn't know.

What you have found Victoria is part of the beauty of the Catholic Church. The liturgy, in common form or the Latin form, is based on the Holy Sacrifice. Some people feel more connected to the Latin form and others to the common form. This is the beauty of that while you feel more connected to the Latin form, (which is beautiful) I feel more connected to the common form. It is wonderful that we both get to receive Our Lord in a 'language' of the liturgy that most speaks to our heart and soul and draws us closer to Christ.

When I’m in Mass, I’m too fascinated by what is going on the altar to check my watch. You wonder, what are they saying? The speaking parts get quieted and jumbled too often for the laity to catch. Especially Domine, non sum dignus est... the bells can be a distraction if you are slow in your mind to grasp the Latin.

Could you please speak about Priests who "joke" in the beginning and end of Mass? Recently, right before Mass, after the procession, the Priest made a joke about another Priest standing by him. He still had laughter in his voice as he started the Mass. Or, five minutes after we receive our God, there might be some joke about the local football team (in another parish) during the final announcements. I never realized how disrespectful this is. Can we not give God one hour that is not about us/the Priest? I do attend the TLM as much as possible. I am not speaking about the TLM here. Thank you!

    • @patriciasette3040
      @patriciasette3040 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, it certainly is. There are many sites and/or books you can go to read more about the most important activity anyone can engage in on this Earth (or in th universe for that matter).
I suggest googling one: Eight Reasons to Go to Mass (but don't stop there). In mass, we are so unbelievably privileged to particpate in Christ's sacrfice on Calvary. Yes, in time, Christ did this ""once for all" - but because He is eternal, He carries in His very being His eternal act of obedience, of sacrificing Himself perfectly His own will to the most loving will of the Father on our behalf.
At Holy Mass, that is what we engage in - what we literally become one with. We are in literal union with the very body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ Jesus - think of it!
The best mind that ever lived, the most devout soul who ever lived or will ever live, could pray on, talk about, write about the Mass and never exhaust its glory and its benefits to us. Praise God for the Mass - there is nothing more important than it in the world, for in it is the very sacrfice of the Lamb in all His eternal love and glory.

I’m someone willing to learn buy from reading scripture I’ve always thought the mass was formed over time by tradition from the Last supper Passover meal of Christ. That the sacrifice of Christ is for the salvation of mankind and we are to practice this Passover meal as a replacement of the original and that this became the basis of the mass. The idea that Jesus is re-sacrificed to God everytime mass is given, seems to go contrary to scripture which says Jesus was sacrificed once and for all. The mass is a remembrance not actually sacrificing Jesus. His original last supper meal was Jesus declaring he was ‘the lamb’ and was going to give himself in sacrifice for salvation of mankind. He hasn’t done it yet but the meal was to mark this as we should in mass. But I’ve never understood this business of the mass being a unbloody re-sacrificing of Christ. Not surprised Protestants disagree on a scriptural basis. Tradition after all must uphold scripture and not change what if teaches. Can anyone please explain ? I’ve always been confused by this. Thank you.

    • @OBNOXIOUSBLA13
      @OBNOXIOUSBLA13 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Quick thing: Jesus is NOT "re-sacrificed" the sacrificed is re-Presented. You are correct it IS a once and for all sacrifice. Just as his death on the cross is for all of time forward and back in a once and for all sacrifice so too the last supper, the mass, is a once and for all sacrifice because it is the same act. There is only one mass.
There is a video here on TH-cam by Scott Hahn called "The Fourth Cup" that illustrates this very well. It should be the first video that come up when you search it.
It's about an hour long. I would recommend watching it. He's very knowledgeable but not too lofty or dry to understand. Also this man LOVES scripture and I feel you would enjoy having that scripture-tradition balance.

"The Mass is a repeat of Calvary."(Pope Francis)
    One important question.
At Calvary, Jesus is the victim or the pleasing sacrifice, the Redeemer.
If Jesus is the sacrifice, who is the priest? Mary the Mother of all Priest or the Queen Priestess offered Jesus to Eternal Father. (Co-redemptrix)

Jesus is both the High Priest and the "consecrated sacrifice" in the form of bread & wine during the Last Supper as he teaches all the Apostle how to celebrate a "Sacramental Mass".
But at Calvary, its different its a Real Mass not a Sacramental Mass anymore, and Jesus is the "victim or the sacrifice" to be fully offered or lifted up to the Eternal Father, there's no need for consecration prayer, Jesus real body, blood, soul & divinity was very real.
Mary is the Royal Priest a Queen, overshadowed by the Holy Spirit.
What did Mama Mary said as She lifted up Jesus?
"Eternal Father I offer thee the body, blood, soul & divinity of your dearly beloved son our Lord Jesus Christ in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world."
Mary Virgin Priest, pray for us.( St.Pius X, 1906)

      Not 100%, why?
Mary was described by St.John the beloved as "STANDING" at the Foot of the Cross facing Christ meaning "ad orientem". Mary was already "redeemed" at that moment remember Dogma of IC..
Mary was "STANDING" and "GAZING" because She is adoring and worshipping the Name of God "YHVH".
What is the meaning of YHVH?
The Hebrew tetragramnaton meaning is "Behold the hand, Behold the nails".
Jesus Crucified was the Name of God.
The Name of God is Divine Mercy.
That's why Mary the Virgin Priest upon gazing for three hours uttered this very words revealed by Jesus to St.Faustina, "Eternal Father I offer thee the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world."
And Jesus responded with the gazing or beholding of Mary, saying to the Woman, now please turn your gaze to all the redeemed souls.
"Woman behold your son, Son behold your Mother"
The mysterious word "BEHOLD" is the key to understanding the Mystery of the Cross.
Mary Virgin Priest, pray for us. (St.Pius X, 1906)

Jong Ricafort St. Pius X never defended Mary’s role as “priestess”,and iirc the Holy Office forbade images of Mary in priestly garnments around this time. Also the Eucharist truly is the real Body,Blood,Soul and Divinity of Our Lord. St. Paul’s letters are filled with descriptions of Christ as High Priest on Calvary, and the Church’s infallible teaching on women not being valid recipients of Holy Orders disproves your point. St. Bonaventure says it clearly as well that Our Lady was a “helper” to Our Lord and not His minister like the Apostles. She consented in Christ’s Sacrifice and offered it WITH Him in a subordinated manner. The Immaculate Conception also does not mean Mary was redeemed “on her own”,since Innefabilis Deus clearly states she was redeemed in prevision of the merits of Christ. Don’t get me wrong,I’m consecrated to Mary by the method of St. Louis Montfort but it’s a disservice to true marian devotion to exagerate her role like that. I suggest you read Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange’s “The mother of the Saviour and our interior life”

The Mass is blasphemy against the Lord Jesus Christ. No satanic priest serving Antichrist popery can pull the King of Kings and Lord of Lords down from heaven, stuff him into a cookie and sacrifice him daily on Satan’s Romish Altar. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was once for all, perfect, complete, NEVER TO BE REPEATED!!!
To the precious Roman Catholic reading this, repent and believe the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Romans 10:9-10, 13, 17. Ephesians 2:8-9). Your false priests, bishops, Cardinals, and Antichrist popes have you trapped in a soul damning satanic system. The propagate a different Jesus and a false gospel. Come out of her. Now is the day of salvation. As Kobe Bryant learned, death can hit anyone at anytime. Tomorrow may be too late.

You're a lost soul, do the research but not the Martin Luther's and John Cavan's believes who were also Catholis and were excomunicated, they were the first ones to start the reformation of the Church and Protestanism was born in 1651. You should learn all you can about your Faith than make a wise decision. What did Jesus say to His Apostles "Lest you eat of my Flesh and drink if my Blood you will not have life within you". , " On this Rock I will built my Church ". There are many others. You should learn about the early Fathers of the Church, read through Bibles written before 1960, learn about Apparitions Old Testament, New Testament and present. Learn all you can about the true Faith, there's so much to learn. Don't spend your time insulting be an example to others. Satan has done a good job by deceiving people even the Catholic Church is in a state of darkness, Spiritually. My friend please do the research, the internet is a blessing from God for us Christians. God Bless JMJ
