Hey, brother, I'm climbing aboard for this trip! Fellow vet here (23yrs USN), and I've watched your first 5 videos. I'm hooked, and looking forward to continuing on this journey and living vicariously through your posts. There's a chance we've crossed paths, as I was in San Diego (Balboa, USS THORN, MCRD, USS NIMMITZ and Pendleton) from 1999-2010. I did all my sailing training in San Diego, years ago, and then my career and a new life in Boston got in the way. Now that I'm closer to the OTHER end of my career, I've been eyeing some sailboats on the market and preparing for MY next chapter. Hopefully, we'll cross paths in the future. Until then, I'll be there on deck with you through this screen, smiling the whole time! Cheers!

I have had ( seven) boats in my life (I'm 80) now and have accepted my destiny but sailing on any lake our ocean has always been my most enjoyable experience of living!! captnmike,
Thanks for those kind words. I am actively pursuing the dream. It’s very difficult in this economy. Certainly much more difficult then when I started saving for it but I am still making forward progress
There is NO guarantee that you will retire. There is NO guarantee that you will keep your health. There is NO guarantees whatsoever that you will enjoy your life in the future, or even have one. What you have is now. Oops! Missed it! You are only alive right now. Not in five minutes, not five minutes ago. Just right now. So what are you doing with your now, the only life you have? I'm 53 and I am learning this from recent experiences. I'm late to the party, but I'm not leaving 😂
