I love the "sound effects" with screaming and wailing when Alexander moved some Italian troops at 16:39 onwards from Rome to the north. Excellent timing. We love your work, and all that you do for us.
How would you compare this to At All Costs! and The Lamps are Going Out? The combat seems to be better in Imperial Tide though as I prefer combat charts with relative damage instead of pure dice rolling, but maybe there are other qualities in the other ones that make them better overall?
Verrryy interesting review. If there comes a future video after ya'll played through PoG i'd love to hear your thoughts on this compared to it. Now I know they aren't 1;1 analogue but I definitely see similarities that are just fun to discuss from a design point of view.
Yay for throwing 2D6. Yay for high rolls are good. Makes rolling the dice much more fun. Yeah I know that might seem shallow for a serious wargame but it's the kind of thing that helps me get the wife or my non-mil-hist friends to play. Thanks for the review this looks great.
It’s always a pleasure to watch your uploads, but a pain to my to wallet. Which of the game’s would you Guys chose: “Imperial Tide” or “An Attrition of Souls”. Regards.
Thanks for the review, gentlemen. Based on your opinions, this one is going onto my "to get" list. I do not have any WW1 games. I am awaiting arrival of Pacific Tide and Atlantic Sentinels.
Looks a really good game and reasonably priced for Compass. Informative & enjoyable review & will probably be on the table long before PoG arrives. Thank you.
Grant wins the shirt award ,for once, with his urban camouflage. I love WW1 games, trying so hard not to buy this. I must go look in my closet at all the unplayed WW1 games. Keep up the good work gents.
Looks and sounds so much like Paths of Glory (card-driven, point-to-point, simultaneous combat system) but less complexity. For someone who really enjoys Paths of Glory, it seems just to similar to justify another purchase.

I've always wondered what Grant did while the game was explained. The screaming children in the background gave it away! 😀

Been really interested in knowing your thoughts on this one. Thanks!
Me too :-D

Really enjoyed this episode thanks so much 😊
I take it that the only naval element is the submarine war. Which I assume is activated via card play?
Correct
How does this compare to the other grand strategic WWI games like Attrition of Souls, Downfall of Empires, and the Lamps Are Going Out?
Looks wicked m8 , Up Front wiv a map , different scale , different times, good review, Solitaire?

Imperial Tide, for Alexander.
@@ThePlayersAid thanks
Got the game in June and have only played the "bot." Concur with your verdict. Thanks again.
Great game. Good that you are highlighting it.
Great job ; - explaining this cool game.

Excellent examples of play.
Another great review. Thanks
I'm interested.
Complexity? 1-10?
4. Not a complex game in the grander scheme of things.
@@ThePlayersAid thank you.
Is this going to be another Guns of August type of event?
NO haha.
Very well, another digestible WW1 game. Thanks for reviewing it!

If you regularly play PoG you're probably right. But you reality they're very different in their game play.
Looks good but I'm just not a point to point game player.
