I never missed your videos, quite entertaining as all solitaire games should. I have shared my "adventures" with my daughter and son; they find them quite entertaining. As yours, I might add.
Great video - best explanation I've seen for playing the game. Also, thanks for going into the details of the optional "S" charts. These were my main contribution as co-designer, and I hope they add a bit more narrative value for players who enjoy this type of game.
Thank you, prometheus! And your welcome for going over some of the optional "S" charts. They really do add more flavor and I was glad to see them incorporated into the game outright instead of a fan-made modification (not that there's anything wrong with that!) Kudos for your part in making this such a fun and immersive solo game. :)
Two errors, so far. Roll for enemy aircraft using the RIGHTMOST column, for the German player. Second. You cannot try to disengage unless you have the enemy aircraft in a disadvantaged or trailed position.
I actually did see that! I didn't know if it applied to enemy scouts and attempted to look it up in the rule book but couldn't find anything definitive. Good to know that's a thing!
Thanks for a nice, clear explanation of how to play this game. As I type this, my copy of W.F.A. is in the mail . Looking forward to watching more of your videos !
Thank you. This helped me to decide my purchase. This looks like a fantastic game for me. I'm a buff of WW1 dog fighting games and wooden ship era games. I wouldn't have wanted do either of those jobs in those eras mind you, but I sure eat up games and books about them. I suspect I'm not alone in that amongst us historical war gamers. 🙂
@@pdex2165 thanks for your answer yeah I was checking BGG right now and saw it, i was about to delete my comment because of that but you quickly answered so I guess it can be helpful for someone else.
Glad to see a new series! I don’t play these “narrative” game myself (still have the GMT games thanks to you, instead) but they’re perfect for watching you play through - after all, their purpose is to tell a story, and you bring that to a much higher level with your productions!
Thanks! Yes, these games aren't for everyone but, like you stated, they do create great stories. Appreciate the comment and that you enjoy them regardless. :)
great video, I bought the game after I watched this but my sortie log doesnt look like yours at all. For some reason mine only shows 2 lines per month for sorties but the rules still say roll for 1-6 sorties?? Any Idea what thats about?
I've not had a video name check for my art before, so thanks for that! I did notice some of the counters are different to ones I did for the game. Are these what was used in Vassal, or your own substitions?
since you are German you should use the right side of encounter. you should also take down your ammo you used two but since you did not go for the ground attack no harm.
I also struggled quite some time with this but what you say is correct. The chart on the right side on player aid A3 is to be used when playing as Central Power and flying over friendly lines while the chart on the left side is to be used when playing as Allied Power and flying over friendly lines.
At 21:35, if you read the "Ace Encounter" section it states at the end: "All aces have Advanced Maneuvers 1-3 and will use the best possible one when defensive."
Appears different enough to other games in the series to be worthwhile.
You always tell great stories with your playthroughs. Just bought two games on account of some of those.😂 Great content. Thanks for sharing.
Superb presentation!
A great video that has convinced me to buy the game when it is released to general sale.

Great video!! Ace Fonck had a gun jam you missed.

Outstanding playthrough... this will be fun....
@29:32, a roll of 2 for the column and 3 for the row would locate the downed Nieuport 1 mile SE of Fleury.

It's here!
Can't wait to see how this plays out, love the new Logo!
Me too! Hope I can't get some mileage out of this pilot. And thanks for the kudos on the new logo. :)
You do a fantastic job with these videos. Like Jose... I never miss them. Looking forward to my own areal adventures.

15:20 I don’t seem to have the same record paper in the box (I’ve bought it 2 days ago) is it normal ?
The sheet I use was downloaded from the BGG website and is not the one that comes with the game.

@@timothysmith6211 Yes, this log sheet was downloaded off Boardgame Geek.
@@pdex2165 Oh ok, I am gonna have to look for that. Thats way better than what comes with the game. Thanks again.
Fantastic, and very cool. Many thanks, subscribed!

Great video 🤟😁 thanks
22:50 Are you allowed an attempt to disengage if you are Head on?
No. You have to be advantaged or tailing the enemy to roll for disengagement. If you fail, you lose one position, PRIOR to the next initiative roll.
Digging the new channel logo!
Ha! Thanks. :)
since you are German you should use the right side of encounter. you should also take down your ammo you used two but since you did not go for the ground attack no harm.
Ugh! You are correct. When I saw "Allied" I thought "my side of the line". I'll correct that going forward. Thanks for the catch!
I also struggled quite some time with this but what you say is correct. The chart on the right side on player aid A3 is to be used when playing as Central Power and flying over friendly lines while the chart on the left side is to be used when playing as Allied Power and flying over friendly lines.
Since enemy ace has maneuver skills as well, how is it determined when he uses them?
At 21:35, if you read the "Ace Encounter" section it states at the end: "All aces have Advanced Maneuvers 1-3 and will use the best possible one when defensive."
Is it Flying Circus, the little brother of Il-2 Sturmovik BoS, that we see in the intro?
No, they are movie clips from Flyboys and The Red Baron.
@@pdex2165 Yeah, this geek spotted those video clips instantly. :-D
@@pdex2165 - oh yes, that brings back memories.
Very good, instructive and enjoyable video as usual.
I will definitively get that game.
Do you use TTS for gaming?
@@luigimaffei936 I use TTS for my playthroughs but I do have the physical game on the table sometimes. So, technically yes. I do use both. 😊
