TH-cam is in my head. It knows that I just ordered a DJI Osmo Action 4 and that I'm in the early stages of planning a trip to SE Asia. Your video is ticking boxes. I'm a planner in the early stages. I research locations and figure out my itinerary and where I will be staying so once I get there I can be more spontaneous.
Does it seem like the DJI footage has a little more contrast than other brands when you're editing? I just did a car show video with the pocket 3 d-log m and the contrast seems a little more intense than what I'm used to. Either way, the images still turned out great.
🤔...Not sure since I do not really have much to compare it to other than my Sony ZV-E10. But, it sure does a great job for the average eye 😂 Thanks always for the feedback and support!
Dude I like your energy and your videos. I’m thinking to return my pocket 3 to get the action 4. Because I’m focusing on raw vlogs in the future and I don’t think pocket 3 is that convenient.
hey, thanks for the video. I am always curious how good action 4 is for vlogging at indoor since i found my insta go flicker a lot even with anti flicker mode. So far my pocket 2 does a good job but it's not convenient for portrait shot and takes time to get and store while walking. I know that action cam has wide focus so it's not great for close shot. I like showing products in the store and stuff, and wonder if I can just take far shot and crop it to get close shot later because it's get too blurry otherwise.
Hello Anindya, Yeah...there is focus issues on the Action cameras for sure. For that kind of issue, the Action may not be the best option for you. I know GoPro 13 just came out with a Macro lens that would work for your specific issue.
On the phone it looks ok, much better than expected from an action cam. I got one, the current price meant i wouldn’t be sad if it didn’t work out, have had it nearly a week, will open soon 😂
The B-rolls were great especially at the MET Cafe and so well accompanied by the background music. I also went out today to film exclusively with the Action 4 and ate at a restaurant here in KL as part of the walk hunting for lunch. It did pretty good although the video is not as crisp compared to the Pocket 3 but I gained portability and carefree-ness if there's such a thing.. lol!

All your videos have a high quality look to them and obviously with the "DJI dynamic duo" - Pocket3 and Action4 is the best for travel vlogging comparing cost, quality and portability.

got the action 4 a week ago , the focus is adjusted to be more at the distance , so that when you film yourself is not sharp , I was able with some efforts to unscrew the lens and ajust it so that it will focus better on me when vlogging , you can find tutorials on youtube if you like , but I saw that you also use the camera to film surrounding , so maybe not necessary in this case , I feel that now with the focus on me when vlogging , the distant objects are not that sharp , tried also the insta 360 Ace Pro but in my comparations so far Action 4 looks better , and you also have the great wireless mic 2
Wow 😮 I had no idea that you could adjust things with the lens 😂 But I think since I have the Pocket 3, I won't have to modify the Action 4 for that reason. But that's a really cool thing to do 😎 Yeah, the Insta 360 Ace Pro has some nice tech updates, but the form factor is big and it's only 8 bit. However, if Insta 360 wants me to try it out I'd be happy too 😂 But, yeah, the connection without a receiver is a big advantage to the Action 4! After reviewing several online videos, I must admit that the ProRes footage from the iPhone appears more impressive. I'm a partial planner. For an extended vacation (2 or 3 weeks) with my wife, she'll leave any planning to me. I'll pick a few different hotels in different areas of a city, or different cities, then compile a list of restaurants, cafes, sights, etc to keep an eye out for. We usually end up visiting only a handful of them. It's the same when I'm alone, but with her I'll make a few specific "must-do" plans for her sake, like reservations at a nice restaurant to two, or visits to sites she's expressed an interest in before. But in practice, the majority of any trip we take will be spontaneous exploring. In the UK a few months back, we made two unplanned day trips after she found a couple of interesting places online the night before--one out of York (Knaresborough) and one out of London (Rye). Those ended up being the best parts of the whole three-week trip.

@@TravelingAhn with ferries and train under the sea, like before, but it's very more expensive because they stopped duty free travels. UK has quitted the european Union so we don't have good prices and passeport facilities like before... 😉 And I love UK , I'm live in France but less than 2 hours from England. 😉

Congrats on reaching 1000 subs brah! When I go solo on holiday, it's usually spur of the moment with very minimal planning. I'll pre plan the accommodation for the first 2 nights, but then pretty much wing it from there 😊. Happy travels my friend ✌️
For us, it depends on how long we will be at each location. If we have more time then we are more go with the flow. If we have less time then we plan it out and make sure to hit all the popular spots. The Action 4 video looks good!

Hey Adam! Man. I couldn't watch this when I got the notification, but usually they end up on my home page a day or so after. Not this one for some reason. Anyways, finally got a chance to watch and enjoy. Maybe those Vietnamese coffees aren't meant to be drank black? I can respect your wife for being a planner. I'm sort of in between. I like to "plan" everything out to squeeze things in but I rarely follow the plan to a "T" (or a P if you're talking about bathroom breaks...ha!). Then there are those days where you start to plan and there's not enough you want to do. Those days are "planned" free days. I can say though, that those days aren't usually my favorite but they are relaxing. Everyone is different and yes, you have to compromise. It's also good that you and your wife can do your own thing with full trust and comfort. I think that's an overlooked aspect of long-lasting relationships. Be safe and I'll talk to you soon!

My wife and I have the same dynamic as you and your wife. She plans everything and I go as the wind blows, LOL. We talk about our big trip in November a minimum of thirty minutes per day as she goes through the planning. She’s a big travel hacker which takes tremendous dedication and patience. I could never do such a thing, LOL. Your Vietnam trip is really cool to watch. The lady that has been giving me haircuts for the last thirty-three years is from Vietnam and we talk about Vietnam a lot during the haircuts. Coincidentally she is actually in Vietnam right now on vacation and also stopping for a few days in Thailand similar to your trip. It is really cool to experience Vietnam through your eyes. My family will need to visit one day. Keep up the great work with your videos!

For me it depends on how long I am going to be somewhere. I maximize my time a lot if I know I’m only going to be there for a short time and I want to see a lot of things.
Nice video Adam. I have a question to ask. What type of tripod or stick has you used do those shots in the cafe and in the restaurant? Was it placed on the table or on the floor? I really want to make shots of myself at restaurants that include both myself and the dishes I eat and do that without attracting too much attention also.

Or to the mountains of the north? 😝 To answer your question in the video: on vacation, I try to plan ahead, but in the end I just do as I please, and we end up cheating and only doing a quarter of what's planned! (in real life, I'm the same way, and it's even more annoying! ) 😂🤣

I'm not entirely sure. I know I heard the bitrate is lower than Action 4. Rumors are stating there could be firmware update at some point.

I got mine today i got this out of focus issue when i close to camera but when i extend to 16+ inch seems alright. Any advice?

I really want to make shots of myself at restaurants that include both myself and the dishes I eat and do that without attracting too much attention also.
