Your mum's simple phrase "Horses", is just brilliant! I'm fairly small and when I was in Primary school I was riding a small hellion named Truffy that used to buck off all the small kids - I always lunged her for 10min before schooling or going on an outride because she was always so feisty!!
Hi. Sorry for saying and asking what I did. Loved seeing the boys watching over the fence. Love the Vlogs you girlies provide. Hope everyone, including horses, stay healthy.
Watching her play on the lunge brought back memories for me. Winnie really is adorable. So full of spunk. She just needed to get rid of a bit of energy. I'm sure she'll be fine when you get out hacking.
Bit of a bucking broncho there Winnie!! can totally get how uncomfy having a girth under your armpits must feel. So glad she is back in work and that weight will come off the more she does. Really glad you stayed on and get well soon.
@@saffronxxx8200 no I mean it's no about the saddle slipping you should stretch your horses front legs every time you put the saddle on I was a groom and I never forgot to pull there front legs it more comfortable
@@sparkle.-buggg3610I’ve always done that too, to ensure that there isn’t a fold of skin caught underneath the girth. It’s also really helpful for horses who like to suck in air and “puff up” when you tighten the girth, bc it makes them release that air. Then you can actually tighten the girth to where it should be.
Last time I girthed up my gelding he was in a 48”. I had to take about 18 months off because of medical issues, so knowing he grew some (width and height) in that timeframe I went up a couple sizes. Let’s just say I had my first ride back on him bareback because the 50” girth I bought him was a hands width away from the bottom of my billets…not even the bottom holes. 🤦🏻♀️ I’m grateful my boy was a literal SAINT though and took care of me whilst behind his ears with only his bridle on. 😂❤️

I have a TB that has a wide ribcage and forward girth groove. Every saddle goes forward on her. I use a shoulder relief girth from Total Saddle fit which is the only thing that has helped. I tried every sticky saddle pad, anatomical girth and even a crupper, nothing helped her.
Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like Mr Richmond William.

Have you considered using a crupper for Winnie or a non slip pad just while she’s losing weight? Some of our lesson horses have non slip pads after a break just to help the saddle not slip
I work at a breakers yard mostly racehorses , anything who has had a holiday and has already been broken will come back and we hop straight on and walk out down the drive and round to the gallop and in. It’s an interesting concept of let them explode on the lunge - with breakers I did at home with mum we always did let them explode on the lunge… but at work they hate lunging and they say it gives them an excuse to behave in such a way. Ironically none of them will explode because they know it’s not okay. We also use sucingles around the rugs to get all of them (pre and broken) used to a girth.
Have you tried ponying a horse when bringing them back into work? You would need to have a steady horse to pony from. I have ponied a number of horses I was bringing back from injury or time off, and it was a great intermediate step between hand walking and going under saddle. Plus I could exercise two horses at once! 😂
