I'm on the side of the restaurant owner. You see these parents in retail and grocery stores all of the time.
I heard a customer (review) say the guy in charge is an a**hole cursing at his staff
He's making a point and a social statement. This correlates precisely with why teachers are quitting teaching.
I don't blame the owners.
If you cannot keep your kids under control then either don't come or else expect to cough up a fee because of that.
You mean the owners who live in central Florida? That is not in the same state as the restaurant. Who was not there.
@@bethriley9757 Where is the proof that he own a restaurant in central Florida? What's the restaurant's name?
I've noticed this happening more and more, and not only in restaurants, but in stores. Kids are allowed to just do whatever they want and the parents manage to ignore it. It's worrisome ... what will these people be like as grownups? They learn no self-control whatsoever.
I work in schools. I fully support this fee and would visit this restaurant. There are some parents that simply do not parent their children and it shows.
"I think it's a good thing and I came because of it" 😂
Dude!
Party of 21 including 11 kids under 8 years old....and they were all behaved....I've never laughed so hard in my life. I wish the restaurant had charged double.
Next chance I get, I will patronize this establishment gladly. Go to Europe where restaurants have a children's dinner hour and simply no children allowed after that. I hope these complaining parents get the message loud and clear.
Where is the proof the kids were out of control? Everything is on video nowadays. Where is the proof??
@@bethriley9757 the parents calling a news station and complaining is proof enough for me. The apple does not fall far from the tree
@@JMUK Then you are stupid and I bet you invest in crypto.
Yes, loud and clear. At a time of demographic decline, we should further alienate parents and larger families. You doltish sap.
They should have charged them.
Proof please. No one said the kids were out of control. Everything is on video these days. Proof please.
Love it. Tired of crappy parents in public.
I'm actually tired of loud and obnoxious ADULTS.

Thank you Blue Ridge Restaurant !!! They are right to charge is for the parents, the children can't help how poorly they are raised.
I baby sat twins boys three yrs ago.
Show up on Monday morning and the step dad tells me the family goes out to eat and the boys-8 yrs old- were hell on wheels in the restaurant. They ran around screaming, kicking customers and or their chairs, crashed into the wait staff and decided to have a food fight at the table. The mother did NOTHING to control them. He was mortified.
I believe the surcharge should be based on a case by case basis. Not all children behave like these twins did.
When I quit the mother asked me why. I told her the boys were OUT OF CONTROL BRATS and walked out the door. 😮
Get your bad ass kids! Running around yelling screaming and disrupting other guests while they're dining in. Oh and the nasty mess with fries, crayon stc left behind for the server to clean. I agree with the fee
Where is the proof these kids did that? Everything is on video these days. I want proof before I make a judgement. But I have a brain and don't let my emotions control me. Proof please.
@@bethriley9757 Why are you responding to everyone?
@@nightangel3578 why not? Got a problem with it?
It’s annoying. Why don’t you go spend some time with your kids instead?
@@EBeverly-gv4ln I will do what I want, when I want. And screw you for not understanding you have to share the world with others. Dumbass!!
Eating out isn't time for you to relax and let your children be babysat by other patrons. They should be in their seats and given things to do in case they get bored. They should not be out of their seats at any time, especially unattended. This means taking them to the bathroom! If you can't watch them, hire a babysitter. If you can't afford a sitter, maybe you should just stay home.
It's not my job to raise your crotch goblins!
I think it is a good policy. We have several dining experiences ruined by misbehaving children.
I stand with the restaurant!
I would definitely eat there! I've been in places where large groups with kids just let them free roam. Not too long ago we were at a local Mexican restaurant where the parents were too engrossed in conversation to stop the kids (4 under 4) from running around. They almost tripped the servers multiple times, were playing under tables and just making themselves real nuisances. The icing on the cake was when 2 of the toddlers decided it would be fun to finger paint the front windows with refried beans. I finally said something and was told, "boys will be boys." Then went back to the convo. I then said, "You better tip enough to make it worth the staff's cleaning time." Which was met with, "Tip? We never tip!" I left a large tip to try and compensate, which was NOT my job to do.
Another time, a child running amuck ran up beside me, stuck their dirty little hand IN MY PLATE OF FOOD and took a fistful! The parents, a table of doctors, (I knew who they were) refused to pay for my meal, saying "Oh it won't hurt anything." Thank God it was before covid!
The bottom line is that eating out has become a time for parents to chill out and let others watch their kids. When their kid gets hurt or disappears, don't scream, "Why me?" Then, they'll sue the restaurant over it. I'm so sick of the entitlement of many of today's "parents." if you can even call them that.
I've heard two sides where some parents insist their kids were well behaved, just on their tablet to distract them.
I almost want to believe that.
But the truth... is that parents can be blind and insist their children are perfect and do not need correction. As a cinema worker I seen it first hand.
Restaurant is in the right, and I hope more follow suit. Millennials can't parent for sh!t
There is a large difference between parents and breeders. Most people can be breeders unconsciously but it takes a conscious effort to parent.
11 kids all under 8 years old? I'm sure they were all perfect angels.
🤣🤣 you know they blew that restaurant sky high.
More restaurants needs this same fee.
These parents feel so stressed by their unruly kids. This generation of parents aren't like their parents. These parents are soft and let their kids do whatever. Hey the owner has a right to do this at his establishment and the rules are there for a reason.
Yeah if I did half the shit I see these kids doing in restaurants my dad would’ve had me out in the car lol
Good for the restaurant, I had kids jumping on the seats shaking the entire side of the room and screaming and they parents just sat there did nothing
I agree with owners. I have been at a restaurant and observed a kid running from table to table trying to take things off. Parents sat in chair and kept calling his name instead of getting up. Then the kid spit on the floor. We left.
just ban them from the restaurant.
Usual suspects with unruly kids wanting special treatment.
Yup the pink kids
@@RoxieLoxie… Somebody has a touch of racism in them
Parents aren't Parents, they are raising wild kids, no Discipline on how to raise your children to behave in public or at home. And they send these unruly kids to school 🤬
you have no idea, I had to knock on a neighbor's door about their child being wild doing everything they're not suppose to do and her response was I told them, what do you what me to do about it?! 🤨😑 I was like iunno know maybe tell them to stop or they have to go inside for 20min... in which case they will get tired of being side and realize if they want to play outside they have to play respectfully and considerate of others? Her response was who plays that indoor?! 🤨😵💫 I wanted to be like I'm not telling them to go play whatever they are playing inside!! I said give them a time out where they can do NOTHING then they will learn that respectable play outside is better than no play inside!!! Eventually they will know that if they want to be outside the they have to act appropriately or they're going inside. But that's when I realized I was dealing with an idiot.
@@shad0wCh8ser 5 of us in your family quit teaching. Out of control, a 5th grade boy hurt my sister, a 7th grade boy push my cousin so hard she had head injury, not allowed to yell at kids, or punishment, saw one boy throwing desk, hitting everyone he could, can't touch the kid, cops took him out in a straight jacket. My kids had a butt, and it got smacked , and they made great parents. My grandkids, hate school, it's a war zone anymore, teacher's teaching you don't know what sex you are, instead of math, small children have to play with natural toys, some schools want children to wear natural clothes, no dresses, for girl's, cause you don't know your a girl yet. Teacher's, are nuts , sad world, I could write a horror book on public schools, colleges. And they wonder why these teens get together and smash and grab stores, rob people, they have NO RESPECT. NOT TAUGHT RESPECT.
Good. 11 kids? They need to double the fee. Sounds like the kids were out of hands if they had to even say something about the behavior. The fact that they were in vacation mode and they had other kids to play with, you already know they were going wild bc most parents know their kids get a little bit too excited with activities and if they were taking a trip, parents usually let them be more wild if they actually discipline them at home -bc vacation mode, so we all know the kids were wildn' out. What ppl like them don't understand that ill-behaved children ruins the dinning experience of other ppl who are paying the same amount to eat there. And if you have kids, you know that they will have random outburst bc that's what kids do. You let them know before hand what is and is not acceptable and the consequences of their actions. If they pass the line, you tell the waiter to make it to-go bc you're leaving. The kids want to eat out as much as the adult so they will adjust to the ground rules that are laid down but rude parents don't bc THEIR need to want to eat out is more important than their kids acting up or ruining ppl's dining experience -which is selfishness. It was a well-deserved fee.
If the customers aren't paying for the rent or payroll, then the owner can damn well do whatever they please. If the restaurant loses business, then that's on the owner. If they want to boycott the restaurant, then more power to them.
😂😂😂 I think it's a great ideal parent who let they bad A$$ kids run around scream and make a mess need to pay that
I'm out and about all the time, i see bad parenting everyday! People with kids need to know that the world is not your playground! Make your kids mind and respect others in public places because if you don't you will definitely catch hell when they are grown! Spare the rod spoil the child!
Good on the restaurant obviously this group the adults were busy in entertaining themselves instead of making sure their kids were at the table and being well mannered and respectful of others.
My sister an I (we're in our 50s now) even knew not to act up in a restaurant or would be hell to pay especially by our dad.
Are there any parents way out there who DO know how to raise children?
Yes there is but no one is perfect so do the best we can some just let them raised themselves and no their kids out of control
@@lindaweston9310perfect? How about trying. They’re in a public place.
@@rayatl217 hey I am with you on that I had a look for mine and they know to get in check I didn't play when in public or home And so proud of them
Next time I’m in Blue Ridge, you can bet I’ll buy a meal at this establishment.
I was recently in an Asian restaurant that was completely quiet at lunch until a woman and her mother arrived with her three offspring. After that, the place was no longer quiet and no amount of dirty looks and even yelling “quiet down” at one point would quell them.
This was during the week when these children should’ve been in school. 🤷♂️ what happened to using your indoor voices? why didn’t the grandmother step in? She was sitting right there? Why is there such a lack of parenting nowadays? Why?
Back in the day when the hostess asked "smoking or non", we always replied "the no children section". We laughed years later after finding out a friend and their spouse did the same thing.
I remember those days. We picked the smoking section, cause they fewer kids and we don´t smoke.
I'm all for it. Charge Karens and Darrens with bad Joey's and Chole's double.
I think the owner is an absolutely wonderful human being of great morals and Integrity he refuses to allow parents to allow their kids to act like LITTLE FOOLS I love it. Parents never truly want to acknowledge how awful and unruly their kids are its a restaurant SIT DOWN AND EAT !!! especially these new age parents control your kids simple.
2:12 - I would have a bigger problem with paying $15 for a hamburger.
I doubt the kids were well behaved. Ive seen piles of food on the floor, spilled drinks, creamers being drank by kids, sugar packs ripped open, sticky food all over chairs etc. Whining, crying, shouting, running around like it is a gym, not a restaurant. This type of behaviour needs to stop. Parents need to teach kids to be respectful of others property, and to behave in a public place so everyone can enjoy themselves. Parents are failing miserably, it seems the tail is wagging the dog.🙄
As older first time parents we were acutely aware of what brats came in public spaces and especially at restaurants. At the first outburst we took our kid outside for a spanking and dress down. If he dared to continue we simply left the establishment and tipped the server generously as an apology.
@@chickchoc I wish more parents followed your example!👍
I agree with the restaurant owner! Have your family sorted before you take them in public!!!!
On the side of the restaurant
I don't blame the owners because I've experienced it when I was a wait staff at a Japanese Teppanyaki steakhouse. The restaurant had two separate sides one for regular dining and one side for the teppan cooking. i've seen parents just let the kids run around like its a McDonald jungle gym.
Love this owner!!!! Keep up the good work!
How about the 20 somethings that talk loudly and cant finish a sentence without using the f word ? Can we send their parents a bill ? Lol
I'm with the owner of the restaurant and the guy who drove there to support them. I have no children and I'm sick of other people's unruly children. I pay for their educations. I won't tolerate their disruptive behavior.
I do NOT blame the restaurant. Some of these awful parents need a wake up call.
Luv it !!
I had that idea and I don’t even have restaurant
Amanda Rose, please do not drag out so many of your words. This is irritating and makes me want to change the channel.
I totally agree with the restaurant.
Their own TH-cam site has had not one comment since 2015 LOL
I agree with the surcharge!! Sum parents really need to get control of their kids , ppl go out to eat to enjoy not to endure disruptive kids as if they was on a playground where that type of behavior should be conducted.
Way to go restaurant owner💪
GOOD FOR RESTAURANT FOR charging the parents
I have 5 and I could bring them anywhere. Why? Because I took the time to teach them how to behave in public particularly a restaurant. Children aren’t weeds-they can’t grow up without some attention and care. Three cheers for the restaurant owner!!
LOVE this restaurant's policy!!! Only reason that loser complained was because he got handed his negligent and entitled backside. eg: he - & the other so-called adults - were called out for their stupidity and child neglect..
Viva la Dirt has a grwat video that fits this perfectly. Annoying child and a clueless parent get delt with properly
I love it😂
11 kids! You think 11 kids all sitting together are going to behave…. No and let’s be honest no restaurant is going to want to piss off and isolate their clientele with this unless it was that bad. So you can tell it probably was that bad. And worst of all they weren’t even charged the amount they were warned so why are they complaining??? Because you were called out sir? lol
This is hilarious.
These parents are simply doing what they have been conditioned to do their whole lives as kids: minding their own business like they were told to by their parents. That's why it's important to not get rid of public shaming.
😅
Just another way to rip off customers.
I think it's a bipartisan issue. And I support it. Parent your goddmn kids
Haha! The owner won’t even come on camera. Just be a child-free restaurant if you have the need to put a surcharge. Let me guess you’ll get a bunch of old people now that thought discipline is belt beating.
I would like to see for myself, because someone might not like that particular family no matter if the kids are well behaved. Like where is the line drawn?
The only people that will have a problem with this parenting fee are parents who have unruly children. Those are the ones who are easily offended and feel like kids should be able to be kids. Idk why parents think being a kid means doing whatever the kid wants to do w/o any regard for others. Kids have no business running through a restaurant, throwing food, screaming in public, or being completely disobedient! I really don't wanna bring race into this, but white people have this problem with their kids. I don't see other races allowing their kids to throw food on the floor bc most ppl know eating in a restaurant and having food on the table is a privilege!
Safe on baby sitting pay in restaurant
Sorry to say this
But sometimes kids do behave because of their dna
Children run...lol its like telling a baby not to cry or a cat not to meow. They are loud. There isn't a book made on parenting and parents are also just as frustrated when kids are over stimulated. Best way to handle it is by practice at home how to act before going.. reward after and id they misbehave at the restaurant take them outside for a minute
BEWARE! People with kids, avoid this place! The owner does not like kids, and parents say they are fined for no reason, when the kids were perfect, but ran around, while supervised outside. DOES THE OWNER HAVE SIGNS OUTSIDE, SAYING NO PLAYING ALLOWED? People with kids should BOYCOTT this place. Many banks have an open window for disputing charges, and if this place fined you for NO reason, dispute the extra charge, and ask for the owner’s proof. If u remove a kid for acting up in this place does the owner charge U the $50anyways? He charged one family who’s kids did not act up & were on computer or phone games at the table. Is that worthy of a penalty, a HUGE fee? I admit there are terrible parents out there, but if your kids were near perfect, Refuse to pay the fine, unless management has proof, as in video of the bad behavior.
You sound like a person that has unruly kids and let them just do anything out in public and by the way they never CHARGED them that fee.
Works for me. I'm very happy this zoo will boycott the restaurant.
I mean they re kids bruh
Some people be doing the most
I think it's a great idea . There are some parents that have less sense then the kids they aren't parenting, mostly KARENS just because they chose not to parent and their kids become unruly, should not be able to interfere with other patrons rights and people should be more respectful.. just Because you have a wild monkey doesn't mean you can bring it everywhere and let it run loose. I'm not saying all kids or parents.... we all have seen and experienced the Karen's and their kids at one point or another, That's what I'm talking about ...
Parents were probably drinking and having a good time themselves.
Good for that restaurant.
What prompted this charge? We're the kids out of control? Need proof the parents were not doing their job OR were the kids just being kids?
kids aren't supposed to 'just be kids' in public.
@@Benjamin_Gellman kids are kids. That doesn't include running a muck, but they do talk and laugh and go to the bathroom a lot. We're tha children disruptive to other customers? Or did the staff have a hair up their ass due to the number of children?
You don’t get out much do you?
@@rayatl217 yes I do. I'm also a server and a mother. I just don't have my head up my ass like most people do.
So kids running around in a restaurant or being disruptive in other ways is ok just because they are kids? Absolutely not. Discipline your children and teach them what is expected behavior in a restaurant or other formal settings.
