currently in the middle of my best mass phase yet .. what i did this year- i substantially lowered my dosages of gear and focused on food as my primary anabolic driver. i changed my training to high frequency and got away from progressive overload with 'load' and focused on progressing intensity techniques themselves (instead of adding weight to the bar, i'm progressing in RIR from 3 to 2 to 1 to 0 , then progressing to rest pause, drop sets, muscle rounds etc..).. i'm not focused on adding weight to the bar, i'm simply progressing and adding more and more intensity techniques with that given exercise over time.

True words! Weights are just a number and they say pretty much nothing about the effort behind it.
225lbs for 10 reps.... (just pumping) versus, slow eccentric, a pause, no lockout, short rest etc. But on paper it's still 225lbs x 10.

This one was worth to listen to every single second! Thanks.
What is your approach (in the off season/bulking) when it comes to cardio (or extra steps) to stay ''leaner'' in the off season as well as better digestion, sleep, heartrate, insulin sensitivity etc? a big yes or a maybe?

Energy output will just manage the other side of the equation so caloric surplus is not to high. But I would say no magic in partitioning more to muscle and not fat. Too much cardio will limit gains by being close to maintenance kcal. But I do like a baseline of 8-10k steps per day. I think this is more important for overall health and in turn staying healthy will limit fat accrual. I do think you need to get heart rate up 2-3x per week in moderate to higher intensity cardio outside of just step counts.

These videos do not get enough views/likes. Sad to see millions of people look towards small fitness influencers for putting on muscle rather than the masters themselves - real bodybuilders

(weigh ins, depleted) my structure started right after i stepped down the stage and rocking the off season... as far as diet, no food cravings whatsoever! even on xmas and news year was pretty manageable, the only problem for me is figuring out if my hypertrophy training is right for my needs, but thats what i gotta study now! tyvm for the infos you guys put out, that lead me into my first contest and now post contest into off season
