They should make a monsoon season as well. When the water rises 2 or 3 levels so you need to make dams and levies to keep your town from getting flooded.
Maple trees are so OP. replace 1 tree farm with strictly maple, leave some pine to keep a steady wood income and once those maples come in you best make sure you got the wood storage.
I just do some starter pine trees (skip birch; you need so many to build anything) and then all maple. Currently on cycle 27 on hard mode and just have infinite wood.
I've found that making canals one or more deeper than their source is great. That way when/if the river dries up, the canal will retain its water in that deeper section and keep the surrounding area green. Also, if you detonate explosives at night it'll avoid accidental beaver deaths, because sometimes they'll be too close and get killed.
Yes dig deep to hold lots of water.. Best near the crop area in the river next to the bank... Pumps can draw water with there extra long tubes then.... Got a wicked mental image of you seeing how deep you can go while doing giggling with glee... I hope this comment gives you something to look foreword to doing in a vid.
You could put a nice bench on the waterwheel platform! Also you can connect waterwheels directly to MORE WATERWHEELS and have them across the entire width of the river. Some stairs going down into the water are all you need for your beaver builders to swim out and build it there.
Heey Blitz, you can stack waterwheels (into the river) together and it will simply add to the total power, therefore you don't need the expensive engines in your industry
I really hope blitz puts a dam on the river he just made so his stuff will be watered for the dry season (since he isn't pumping water from it it should last a while). Also he can build a water depth measurer so he can know the level of the water. Also turning off water pumps should help the water last longer during the dry season. Great video! Great Series! Thanks for this!
or if he manages to connect it to the main river and not block the water with anything its happy fun times when the river just dries cause it bypasses his currently only river blockage
And since he has dynamite now... He can create his own artificial Lake. 6:20 Those trees he planted to harvest on that dip next to the river. Perfect place to create his own lake. A water reservoir for his lil beavers.
I wish the water level stick did more than just be a visual indicator, though. Maybe have it hook up to certain facilities, like the water pump, and give a condition to start/stop based on water level.
The area he just blew open is behind the dam and at the same level, so all that water should remain in the dry season. That means that he'll be pumping it, of course, unless he decides he has enough water to turn the pumps off, but the extra volume should also make the reservoir last longer.
Dont forget to build a dam, before making an artificial river go down a layer, I think the possibility, that this happens to blitz is very high, but we will see.
good option is to blow up your roads and replace them with platforms for the water to flow along them, blocking them off with a dam so water stays in. ps water will irrigate land for 15 tiles

Make more big water storage units and pumps earlier on. Also, turn off your pumps during the drought so the water level won't go down and your plants/trees stay alive.
You should build a canal to the pit where your maples are so you can dam it by the river and make a water reservoir. If you don't pump water from it, the lake will keep the land around it green all year long.

Hey Blitz, you should blow a channel between the main river and the little depression where you put the maples, it’ll increase the green area by a lot.
I was internally yelling at him when he decided to plant maples in this area. It seems obvious to use the area as a place to collect water. A small lake would form that would turn most of the surrounding area green. If done correctly i imagine it would be an oasis during the dry season.
You can build water wheels across the river, they stack when connected to each other. And how about a deep hole with water pumps as reservoir for dry seasons?
Hey Blitz, can we have a series, where you play games you used to play, like a couple years ago? I think it would be amazing and if you put them in a playlist you can call it the Nostalgia playlist or something.
Blitz, use your demo to carve out the bowl on the other side of the river to a depth of 5/6 deep, then do a 1x channel to fill it and your won't run out of water during the dry season. your water pumps can go 6 deep.
I'm watching this game get played on two different channels (Blitz and KatherineOfSky), and it's fun for me to compare because both clearly enjoy it, with two different playstyles. They're also playing with different beaver clans, the Fairytails get windmills and beehives instead of engines.
Your little canal is gonna eventually circumvent your dam; so be sure to stick another dam just on the other side of the canal (or even just a single one at the end of the canal will work once its completely around the entire settlement)
During the drought, when you were asking where the power was coming from, you had engines running. All buildings that require power, will share the power through them to other buildings, and through the power shafts. Since they were all linked, when your engines kicked on, it powered your buildings for a short time until the wood ran out.
I hope Blitz makes more Dams so his beavers don't get dead during the next drought. Bc that artificial river he made will end up dumping out all of his saved water behind the dam
If you turn off your water pumps during drought season you won't lose the water preserved by the dam wall. Build a 2nd large water tank and you won't have to worry about running out of water during dry season with the pumps off. The only reason you ran out this time is because your water storages weren't full going INTO the dry season.

hey blitz a bit of advice to keep the water from evaporating behind the levy so fast make it deeper with explosives like when its the dry season also maybe put another levy further down the river and deepen the bed so you can just have a really big water tank you can pump from without making the part of the river that keep your plants growing from drying out also maybe research the adjustable flood gate so you can ether hold more water back in some spots or let it go down stream to keep water wheels turning also using hamsters wheels to produce power makes you consume more food and water per day and the droughts get longer as you play so you might wanna consider improving your water system before you accidently kill all your beavers

you should use the leavy to dam up higher on the river to force it over in to the other river bed as it should run over both the river bed and leavey
