Hey Blitz, a little advice: water wheels now slow down the flow of water, so you should avoid building water wheels down stream of each other. Don’t repeat my mistake if building a huge water wheel platform :)
Good that your using the folktails, I don't think many people understand the difference unless they have the game. Ironteeth may have engines, better mines and more dense housing as well as more dense wood storage, but folktails have there own automatic power source, automatic breeding, different water wheel and far better food production.
One of the buildings I unlock first is the water dump, because I can use it to fill a 1-block of water, and have dams early-game and then levees to keep the water there. The dams will let half the water out, so I have to pause it as soon as it dumps water once, and have it refilled once it runs out, to have the ground hydrated during droughts. I often unlock it before I unlock the stairs. But, on this island, you could use other places which still have water, to farm one level lower. Not sure how things are after the aquatic update, but before it, I could simply plant on the ground where water once was, and the plants would grow while covered by the water after the drought was over. Also, I spam beehives in a pattern which minimizes overlap. O eventually detonate a 1x1 hole for water to remain in during the droughts, and build the beehive inside it. This way, I get aquatic bees which help grow food faster even during the droughts.
Hopefully Blitz continues this world and manages to get some of the new content! Also, Merry Christmas Blitz and Intern! (Even though I'm a day or two late.)
You should put the aquatic farms in deeper water, or surround them with dams to retain a pool during the dry season, since they dry out super quickly. Though, due to the low flow of the water on this map, you might not get the damed-in area to refill; unless you use floodgates on atleast part of the farm. Lowering them to allow water in during the wet season, and raising them (at the end of that dreaded 3 day countdown) to retain enough water to last through most dry seasons.
I tried growing aquatic crops in deeper waste but it won't work. An area flooded one level high with dams to prevent water escaping during a drought is probably a better way.
@@Sinyao that was truly how I did mine in my playthroughs, dams and floodgates to retain water... the deeper water was just a fleeting thought, I should have realized that deeper water doesn't work since the plants are 1 block tall...
@@mherrmann81687 It was a headache going through the trial and error, and it was already too late to go back after I started blowing reservoirs in one playthrough haha.
@@Sinyao I had mine set up beside my reservoir, so I could maintain the water level during long droughts... floodgates for inflow and a line of dams at the outflow Honestly haven't tried many other patterns since it worked so well for me so far
No idea why you don’t use the prioritize feature lol Just put stairs into the water, you don’t need platforms as a bridge. Buildings touching each other share power. You don’t need all the extra power lines.
I was only thinking just this arvo how cool it would be to have beavers in Australia, then my Dad recounted how he's Swedish exchange student friend in the 90's had a beaver fell a tree and drop it on he's Dads sailing boat when they weren't paying attention. I suppose we probably have enough excitement generated by giant rats down here already. I mean; my Dad's last car was completely obliterated by a kangaroo. That collision was so massive it nearly left me an orphan. -And not to mention all the other times he's truck got smashed by a kangaroo.
heh. the one amusing gotchya to this map that I found was problems with flooding. there is a LOT of waterflow that has a lot of places to exit. once you start daming off areas you can quickly find that the amount of spillovers or gates was insufficient.
Should have just built the 3 running wheels attached directly to the buildings. The power would still transmit through them without the wasted wood on power shafts.
Okay can someone make a game like this but with otters on a waterworld (a flooded world) where they can dive to get resources (I don't know if otters dive tho) and from high hills and/or mountain tops That are still above the water
You know what i havent seen Blitz play in a long while? Playing surviving aftermath, survivging mars, oxygen not included(on blitzafterdark) and teardown. If i will see at least one more of one of these games it would make my last days left until the years ends perfect

Wow i didnt know that i wonder if i can use that

Agreed
Merry Christmas Blitz, hope you and yours had a good one.
Joyous emotional quality of festivity moments to some extent!
(Merry Christmas)
Blitz! Dont know if ya know or not, but beavers can swim. Meaning you dont need to build platforms to connect the islands
nice, Merry Christmass Blitz and everybody reading this 🍻
Blitz always makes games so much more fun.
True

Merry Christmas to you blitz and maple syrup in coffee is alright but it needs to be limited or it gets really sticky and it hangs in your throat
one of the bevers in the tumnail or whatever you call it look like a capybara.

I have never been so early
I wonder what blitz’s city names would be if Topia wasn’t a thing
Finallyyyyy
Blitz can you play job SIM again and merry Christmas
So for actual helping information the beavers seem to build within the order you place things after the priority is considered.
You should have called the city beaverly hills
FACTZ
I went to Beverly Hills once
Blitz, beavers can swim, you don't need to platform across rivers
i got every building now there is more great
Would love to see more of the update.

I've seen three maps on this game and you pick one of them same with the other guy I'm watching, the chances?
I want more
I'm amazed at the number of youtubers who play this game but don't take 2 seconds to read building definitions BEFORE building them...
