I love Laurie’s positive commentary. Ah/ honest but she always makes sure to add a positive remark. She was able to say this is what this athlete did wrong but she will get it. It’s always so positive and i love that. You never get that with Nastia and Tim. Even in the senior competition, Laurie was still so positive and honest with her commentary and she never tore down the athlete’s with her comments. I wish we could keep her
Laurie is one of my favorites, but John Rothesburger...DAMN! I watched him from 92 Barcelona Olympics through his retirement. I learned threw him never give up. Laurie helped me learn to keep going no matter how bad it get. Hope we get to see her do gymnastics again. She was under rated and deserves individual gold
I agree!!! i wanna see Laurie compete again.. But, the odds are not in her favour, imo...:) you gotta realize when these athletes retire, they sort of run out of gas or their bodies run out of gas. Look what happened to Nastia. If she's not at her peak, she will not make it, imo. Laurie and Nastia were always my favourites, then Simone!!! and Nadia Commenci...;) I agree with you though...
@@lisamb4269 i definitely understand where you're coming from. With Nastia's come back a lot had to do with Marta. Alicia Sacramone-Quinn another amazing athlete had an amazing come back and she got robbed. Ali Raisman is my favorite. I feel so awful for what Nasser did to all of them that he pretty much among other people ended her career early. Laurie was doing well last year. Not sure where she stands but if her career is over i hope she is in a good place in her decision. I understand your mentally outta gas or physically outta gas. I don't do gymnastics but when i was made yo give up dancing i was at the pre-professional level, now 10 years later at 41 I'm doing everything in my power to get back to where i was and try to surpass it. I know time is against me but I'd rather try and fall on my face than look back when i'm really old and gray saying what if. I'm glad though we have the same likes when it comes gymnastic.
its crazy to me how many male announcers, coaches, cameramen, commentators are in this all women sport. you never see women in all male sports coaching or announcing or taking photos. hire more women USAG!!
I hate the age discrimination. If the younger gymnasts can do the tricks and they pass the Olympic trials, they should be allowed in the Olympics. Just like the good ole days.
Laurie is too phony for broadcasting. Nastia is that bad that people think her talking about herself for 2 hours is an improvement. Laurie like every other "broadcaster" loves to point ut issues in the no names but never does in the "stars" It's bias. Until we get someone broadcasting, willing to point out issues by people like Konnor, all commentators are worthless (At least in the US)
