    OK, the French girl Melanie, she's awesome. However, I have a big problem with her living and trying to compete in the US. While she's training at Simon Biles gym. That's a major conflict of interest. Because she's gonna go home and give all of our training secrets to the French that's messed up. She's not even american citizen why the heck is she competing in the u s I admire her but I just can't respect this

    • @calslipman97
      @calslipman97 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I don’t get the point, in every other sport , there’s no trouble training in a country and competiting for an other one, like in football or in Ice skating. So why would it be different in gymnastic?
      She must pay to train at WWC, so since she does it, I don’t see any conflict of interest.

      It's not counterinsurgency, it's gymnastics. Besides, they already talk to each other at international meets, and that's with less than a top security clearance. Under interrogation, though, I'm sure they're trained to just give name and level of difficulty.

    • @louisevigreux7286

      Actually, Cecile and Laurent, WCC’s main coaches, are French. Cecile is a former Olympian, she competed for the French Olympic team in 1996. To me, that sounds more like it’s the American gymnasts that are benefiting from French training secrets, here, since they are training current and former national team members such as Simone Biles, Joscelyn Roberson, Zoe Miller, Tiana Sumanasekera and Jordan Chiles.

    • @baileymeek2778
      @baileymeek2778 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can sympathize with your point because it kinda bothers me that her US training will eventually only benefit France, however there are certain historical analogies similar to this situation that were in the US's favor. Take Bela and Marta Karolyi who ran our USAG team for over 20 years- they defected from Romania and used their experiences in elite gymnastics there to form their training for the USA olympics team which did extraordinarily well. Wouldn't that be considered a major conflict of interest by the same standards?

      @@louisevigreux7286 What French coaching secrets are you talking of? The OG poster made a good point. Anyway, the Landi's are FRENCH AMERICAN and they chose to coach for America!! Melanie is going to have a problem when she competes for France because she is not going to have her coach's with her as you are allowed to.
