It was refreshing to have Laurie celebrating each individual athlete without having to weigh her against Simone. If Simone does come back (which i doubt) i really hope it doesn’t go back to “well she can do that really well but Simone can do it GREAT!”

Also, all that pressure they put on her BY constantly calling her the best ever, faultless and the goat is why she ended up having mental health issues in Tokyo. If Simone comes back (big if), I think it would be as a 2 event specialist. Even in the lead up to Tokyo she said she felt the wear and tear on her body. Come Paris, she will be 27. That’s not old at all, but gymnastics is a super demanding sport. If at 24 she definitely felt her age, I think that will be even more true at 27. She can do what she wants. Whether she decides to return or not, I will be cheering for her regardless.
Laurie Hernandez has a long and illustrious career ahead of her in commentating. A pleasure to listen to in every way: expert knowledge, fair in judgment, full of positive sidebars, and pleasant repartee with her fellow commentator. I hope we see a lot more of her in this new role!
Really enjoy the commentators here. Much more pleasant than the previous duo from my point of view. Not so many repetitions and also, they really try to give the viewers much broader of an overview here.

It is so hard at first missing your faves when quads change, but it doesn't take long to recognize how spoiled I am to see so much of the best new and seasoned talent in the world. I think one of the best parts of gymnastics is the support and enthusiasm that the commentators bring. Cherry toppers on some of my most favorite moments. Good question is if Alicia Sacramone Quinn will still commentate college gym with her new job position. Her and John make watching so fun.
I’m just gonna call it now: shilese will be on the paris Olympic team. My reasons are basically her bars because even when jade, Jordan, suni, konnor, Skye etc, they still need people for bars because that team will struggle for bars scores without shilese. Like cmon. She scored 14.5 with a downgraded routine and not all her connections. Similar to suni in 2021, they really need her bars. I think shilese is barring injury a lock for the team from this point. It’s a big say but don’t come at me. Just my opinion and I know anything can happen but I’m saying shilese is already on this years worlds team and the paris Olympic team
Tim should be relegated to MAG only. We deserve to have two women, Laurie and Nastia , do the commentary. Why does there always need to be a useless dude in the commentary party?

She’s one of the heads of USA gymnastics. They have three people heading the program. Chellsie, (technical lead) ASac, (strategic lead) and Dan Baker. (developmental lead aka junior program leader)
NBC always showing the LEAST amount of gymnastics and talking about random stuff instead. Also the lack of artistry from the Americans… looks especially bad after watching the European championships.
They don't usually do the U.S. classic (they might in olympic years). It's often been John and someone else who was once upon a time an olympian. I think Tasha Schwikert did a few of them, so did Alicia Sacramone.
Not my favorite set of commentators. Although the decreased focus on Simone Biles was a breath of fresh air, it felt like they were the same person with too much of the same perspective. I've not minded John in the past, but I could do without Laurie Hernandez. Also, is it just me or are there far fewer women competing here? It felt much smaller than recordings I've watched of earlier years.
Commentary was boring imo. Laurie sounded like a school girl lol giggling, repeating the same things. I didn’t really get the technical info and John was a bore as well.
