Extra shims and make sure the bottom screws that hold the bumper and lower diff case are really tight after some hard land darts check those screws and you’ll find you can tighten the more. That has solved the problem for me. Now it’s ultra durable!
Im actually really disappointed because i wanted this rc to be a little beast and something to go up against the rival ... My experience so far is a disaster... Its a turd for me 😅
That's a shame Justin. The Maverick Quantum 2 Flux looked to have so much promise from other reviews i've seen! I was sure HPI had addressed all the issues with the original Quantums durabilty. I should know I own not 1 but 2 original Quantums (MT & XT) Looks like they carried over the original diffs from the Quantum too. Hopefully HPI will update and release an HD diff to address this. My next truck is still going to be an MT10 as I have been looking at picking one up for a while now. Justin, you should look at the Rlaarlo Omni-Terminator next. Really impressed with that truck, suspension out of the box is great. It is smaller than the Maverick/MT10 but just as much fun.
This truck really had a lot of potential and was hoping it would be a solid basher and something to challenge the rival .... But i have gotten a turd.... Ive seen the other vids on this and im wondering how many are actually showing whats really going on with it ... Yea the Rlaarlo looks good ... Ill just stick with Team Corally and Traxxas for the time being though 😅
Just tested and everything's tight now. I suspect you have the same problem although mine rattled loose and saved the diff. I reckon yours is tight enough that it pushes into the diff and knackers the mesh. Also the retaining screw on the input gear came loose on mine which led me to discover the fitting from cup shaft to gear is extremely tight. Push the gear back and forth with your finger on the cup from the other side, there should be no play. Same factory worker made both of ours it seems! Sloppy assembly shouldn't ruin this truck, it's very capable and has it's own feel. Shite manual by the way. Hope this helps!
Mine had excessive play on the front drive cup. Loosen the grub screw on the front drive cup and eliminate all the play if there was any. Sloppy manufacturing I fear.. just about to try mine and see if that's correct...
Damn man, thay sucks. I've had mine for bit and have seen no issues like this. Ive bashed the hell out of mine and even had my dog chase it and toss it around...mine is still rolling strong.
@@utikahk4538 thats really good to hear that some ppl are having fun with it ... I wanted good things for it but my experience hasn't been great at all
@kaosr.c I can see that. I've seen other videos that point out major flaws. Front wheel drive wouldn't work because they used a screw too long, and the gears weren't touching. Things like this annoy me because this is a car for people new to the RC world. They shouldn't have to worry about manufacturing flaws built into the design.
lmao welcome to Maverick. I had the previous version which would blow a diff or other gears literally every run and I wasn't even jumping it. Kept taking it back to the shop and they would just tell me that my driving is bad and I should only do smooth accelerations. Wtf.. Can't even look at pictures of it anymore I just get angry and disgusted. Can take a bash but the drivetrain is unsuitable for 3s. Even my hyper expensive Savage XL V2 (updated drivetrain) likes to grenade itself sometimes.
Damn, getting weary of HPI now. I know you used to run the vorza S truggy, any issues with that? Might skip HPI altogether as it would be my first RC car and don’t want to be doing too much work on it
Mate i know how you feel, i have repaired mine too many times , One or Two runs and its Knackered . I even had to replace the bearings. In the Slipper Shaft , and the Diff Casing , and on the Diffs .
@@mark-1rc502 yea man i gave up on this car , they missed the mark terribly with this , safe to say i wouldn't buy anything from Maverick again , shame about yours to mate !
I picked up a Maverick 2 last Thursday, blew the front differential yesterday. 😢 one week and about 4-5 batteries. Any suggestion on how tight the slipper should be? I tightened mine because it was fully backed off and loosing about 70% drive when it was about 1/3 into a battery.
@obiwun32 sorry to hear that man ... Mine blew after 1 pack and then the other two blew after another single pack ... Mine was a total lemon .... On other rc's i normally tighten them all the way down and back off half a turn roughly I would also let Hpi know ... They need to be aware that it is a more common thing than others are saying
@@kaosr.c cool thanks. I plan on speaking to my local store tomorrow where I purchased, I’ll try and reach out to HPI too. Pretty bummed. Our little MJX goes and goes since Dec so I was hoping for better.
Argh, bummer... I do hope HPI responds to your request and I hope they also watch this video, they should offer you a decent compensation. I didn't watch the bash video yet, but was the mesh bad? One excuse could be it just wasn't tight enough in the mesh, but then they should have provided shims, and even so, it's an RTR, so that also shouldn't be necessary... Well, now I try watch the bash video, he he...
