    Interesting to see this. I did my crawlspace walls and attic with this type of foam system. You seem to have a problem with the foam dripping down. Not the end of the world but certainly a waste. I found the 650 tanks really only did about 500 board feet. I then went with the sprayez system with 1.5lb foam and .5lb foam for an addition. They now make 2lb and 3lb foam. I wonder how well that will work compared to this because I found their 1.5lb to be right on with the yeild. The .5lb foam expanded so crazily I dont know how to measure it but it did what I needed to do. The issue would be getting that big foam gun they have into the crawl. I wasnt sure if you had better results with the two tanks of whatever this stuff is?

      The foam is dropping down because he’s using the fan nozzle, which the kit will tell you not to do - that is for filling vertical spaces, like a wall cavity. The cone nozzle is slower, but you won’t have so much of it dropping, since you are putting up less at a time with the cone nozzle.

    You should be using inorganic vapor cartridges on your respirator. Not Hepa filters

    Can this be done in a vented crawlspace in the northeast. Part of my house is built on pilions or piers and just a fiber board to keep animals out. Half of the house is built on cinderblock walls. . I was thinking of putting vapor barrier down on the ground and spray foam closed cell in the rim joist and floor joist. Ps. When I say crawlspace I definitely mean crawl. Opening is no more then 3 feet from ground to joists. Thanks

      We don't typically recommend insulating the subfloor with spray foam. If there are any water leaks inside the home it will make things much harder to get the wood to dry out. This video shows the porch attachment of the house. Air sealing the rim joists is a good idea, take a look at our critical air seals video to learn more: th-cam.com/video/otNCxKqez8k/w-d-xo.html

    So other than the mask, do you ahve ny ventilation to keep from asphyxiation?

    • @CrawlSpaceNinja
      @CrawlSpaceNinja  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to make sure that where you're working is well ventilated. We will normally leave the crawl space door open and if needed we will have a fan to help circulate the air while we are working.

    I don’t think this should be done in the south as a termite inspector I can tell you these people will have a hard time selling this house. If the buyer is using VA

    • @CrawlSpaceNinja
      @CrawlSpaceNinja  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That makes sense, thank you for your comment! We typically only use this type of spray foam to insulate brick or stone foundation. This job was by request of the homeowner underneath the porch area of their home.

      I had no problems when I had done my house that I was renting and then purchased it. The termite inspectors know that this is a building strategy now. I really dont think they like the foam so it actually fixes the issue. They bore thru the wood because they eat it. They dont eat foam.

      This was an exterior porch that connected to the rest of the house. The customer requested this work to be done.

      Dont have the figures for that job, but it all comes down to work performed and square footage.

    If a video is titled "How to" it should tells us how to along the the video. Watching does not teach "How to". Thanks any for posting.
