Orcas with the short, curved, shark-like dorsal fin are females. Males are bigger with tall, straight fins.
      Just thought I’d mention that.

I feel like this was playtime for them. Orcas are just giant dolphins with very high intelligence (seriously, they are dolphins). They live to play and aren't really showing hunting behaviors here imo.

They are riding the wake which requires a lot less energy on their part to keep up. They's why you see a lot of them and other dolphins in front of ships riding the bow waves. They've learned it's a great way to cover distance with less effort. They even do it in front of full grown blue whales at speed.

Actually, this is a thing that all dolphin species do because they like the sensation of the of the change in water pressure the wake gives. Orcas a just big dolphins. When dolphins do it, it’s to “be cute and show off” and when orcas do it it’s “to hunt seals and capsize the boat” but really both are doing it for the same benign unrelated reason: water massage basically.

Bottlenoses are the brainy ones, they can learn to use tools, can learn English both spoken (can't speak it though, their vocal cords are built wrong) and sign and have their own languages. Give them robots to get around the whole no hands thing and they'd take over the world.
