Wow, that's a very beautiful watch. Never seen any Vostok like that before (I have some amphibians and old basic vostoks). Great review, thanks for sharing
Thanks mate and for the price you really can't go wrong. Of this case style there's a few different dial variants as well if you want something different
I think that hands are called Breguet Style. Love that 2 o'clock crown! Placed like in good ol' 101419 model - one of the most wanted vintage vostoks nowadays.
The best dimensions you can have on dresswatch. Not too big as the Orient Bambino but still bigger than any vintage dresswatch. I had the white dial with arabic numerals.
WR: Gremlin.... i'd take that! It's their season anyway... This is a nice dress watch, although i prefer the East 2403/581096 from the same factory (the "original" place to get Vostoks). Love the "Cornes de Vache" lugs (cow's horn), the offset crown at two and the Breguet style hands. All in all a lovely elegant piece, cheap to get, fun to wear, amazing to look at. What else could you ask? Oh, just don't let it get into water... you know what then! PS Site says clearly that case is ... dustproof! Whatever that means!!!
Agree, a really beautiful retro/vintage inspired watch, and so far from what we're used to from Vostok. Really like that structure on the dial, and hands and numerals fits in so well here. I'd have to get used to that crown position, but those cool lugs makes up for it. I definitely prefer your strap instead of that generic one that came with it, even though it seems decent quality. And yeah, I feel for you with a 6.5" wrist myself. Too often the straps are too long with not enough holes. Sometimes you can make an additional hole yourself, but with those wide flat buckle pins it's a different story. The same has happended to me with a bracelet with not enough detractable links and too few micro adjustment positions. Lucky enough it was a strap monster which looked good on various straps.
Thanks for the comment and for watching. Yeah sometimes having a slim wrist is a real pain, especially when it comes to straps and bracelets that don't fit. But it has its plus sides like being well suited to vintage dress watches and erm that's all I can think of. Appreciate the support
@@WesWatchRoom Haha, that's actually a good point. I have a couple of tiny but beautiful 60s watches, and they probably look better on me than on many other bigger wrists.
I have virtually the same just with Arabic numerals. The acrylic has tiny dimples (visible under a loupe), but the printing is quite crisp. It sometimes refuses to run when fully wound. I just give it a little whack and it starts ticking merrily away. It wears very flat, but the strap is soooo stiff, even after repeated wearing.
Nice I didn't notice any imperfections in mine but for the price its hard to expect everything to be perfect. Can't say that mine needs whacking to get it to work though.
This watch looks really nice,it reminds me of the old pocket watches... But mechanical watch for me are just an occasional watch to use maybe like going for a wedding, normal days I just wear a digital watch.
I agree with about the watch, it's a really good looking piece. The fact that the watch wears comfortably is due to slim case. But I disagree about the strap. I absolutely can't stand faux croc straps (or real croc straps for different reasons).
Looks really great and interesting, however, a tad too small and thin for me I think, and that crown, very strange not sure how I feel about that, but the dial is fantastic. The lug design definitely gives it a diff look on the wrist than any watch I’ve seen. Great review as always
Cheers mate and yeah it is a tad small for most but then again dress watches are supposed to be small. The crown is a bit strange too, I like the odd position but too close to the lugs. Thanks.
Not Looking to buy a dress watch right now and when I buy a Vostock itll be the Amphibian first, however when I do get round to adding a DW may pick this up. Looks Nice.
@@WesWatchRoom Thanks. Just picked up a 581096 and its awesome at the cost I paid for it. Its my Vostok Historique Russian 2021. (As the real one is far from realistically being within reach). Haven't tested timekeeping yet. The ticking sound is a surprise.
The inscription says...made in Russia... It's read- "zdjelano v Rosiji" I believe xD and about the strap... I think it's "natural leather"... anyways... It's a beautiful watch, I always wanted one but with a white dial and arabic numerals... I hope they still deliver in the UK because of the cursed war that's going on right now... I hope the watch will serve you well 😉😉
Thanks for the information and it is a real gem, didn't think they'd ever make anything like this to be fair. I'm not sure if they're still delivering to the UK though.
I like the Vostok range but they do have so many iterations of the same watch especially with the divers all seem to be the same just decide what you want on the dial. A definite buyer.
I have 3 Vostoks, including a dress watch. Love the classic design and style of this one, but 1 big issue. The text/numerals are white, but the hands are ivory/cream. Makes it a 'no thanks' for me.
Nice, Wes, even with Romans. Vostok do a ladies' version of this, with glass jewels in place of numerals, and four colour ways with matching straps. (black, red, green and blue). I gave a red one to my friend for her birthday last year and she's still taking to me... The lettering on the strap just says "Natural Leather ". Yes, wind it gently. Cheers 🍻!
I have the cream version and love it. However….I’ve worn it to work today come home and did a bit of housework, got a little hot and sweaty and there was a mist under the crystal. Lovely watch but apparently the WR is non existent.
This model is a permanent member of my wishlist. The plated case is the only thing that stops me from buying it every time. Such a handsome looking watch.
I think a watch like this needs to be smaller. Like closer to 35mm case. Just my opinion. I do like those acrylic crystals. I have a longines conquest heritage with similar crystal. Can't really complain for the price tho.
I think the size is about bang on, any smaller and it would be too small even for me, but just my preference. Agree with the crystal too, looks so cool. Thanks
@@WesWatchRoom thank you, there's also an Indian state-owned company just like Vostok that produced mechanical watches at a very cheap price. You should check them out. They are not very refined but have a big history.
Yeah I had to use Google translate to do it. That was fun. I'm sure there's a add on for Google chrome that you can install that would translate it for you
You can change the language to English, there's a drop down menu at the top of the page. The menue is in russian but just look for the english flag. I love how they have translated 'shopping basket' as 'Garbage'.
After waiting 3 months for customs to sort the package out, i finally received this piece of garbage. It's unacceptable for the power reserve to be less than 24 hours , strap feels cheap and flimsy. Size makes it perfect for elegant hobbits. Everytime i try to check it's accuracy, it's just sitting there, dead, because i forget to wind it every 6 freaking hours.
@@WesWatchRoom i expect Vostok to mention ANYTHING but a completely false 38 hour power reserve on it, no matter the price. I expect to receive the product advertised and ordered, not some piece of garbage instead. If you think that kind of thinking is correct, i can sell you a ton of useless garbage for less than 30 quid, just let me know.
Hey guys, here's my take on this stunning little piece from Vostok. Let me know what you think of it, would you grab one? Thanks and have a great day.
Yes I'm grabbing one, will be my official blue dial dress watch and yes a Vostok I wasn't expecting that lol
That's a beautiful piece and I really like the unique lugs and crown placement. Very elegant and quite different!
I agree, it's a beautiful one and they have a few different dial options too which are equally as nice as this one. Thanks for watching
I got one, its fantastic and I am in love. Very elegant and low key watch. I got the drivers black version with the twisted dial, just stunning.
That sounds really nice, hope you enjoy it.
I pretty much like everything about this one, they've got the vintage styling & sizing bang on great find mate.
Cheers mate and agree, can't believe its a Vostok to be fair.
From Russia with love! Vostok-since 1942
Indeed, this one is a real gem.

Almost zero videos on this watch, and you have a solidly well done review. Subscribed and grateful!

Have the same watch. The blue looks much better in front of you than it shows on camera. For the money takes some beating.

Same here, I don't often find times to wear them hence why I prefer dive and field watches.
It’s a nice looking watch. Don’t like that you can see the quick release mechanism on the strap when it’s on your wrist. Good value.
