Elder's music is truly underrated. I recently lent my friend their latest album, "Innate Passage," and he couldn't stop raving about it. It's an incredible record that showcases their musicianship and songwriting abilities. I feel like a proud evangelist for the band, spreading the word about their talent to anyone who will listen. Mission accomplished.
I feel the same way! My friend's dad is an old-head audiophile. This isn't his type of music, but I want to lend him Innate Passage or Reflections of a Floating World. I'm confident that anyone that understands quality music will clearly have to respect this band. They are beyond their genre.
I've been a fan of Elder for a few years now and listened to most of their music. I consider Innate Passage to be their best work so far. Catastasis into Endless Return is my favorite intro to an album in a long time.
This band erupts like a volcano and then can create calm forests and oceans of serene Bliss. What a treasure that they exist and are only getting better.
so true. and so many say rock is dead and when they do i undoubtedly bring up Elder and other bands like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Osees, King Buffalo, Slift and so on
So beautiful . I could rage and also fall asleep to their music. Absolutely one of the best bands around . Them , King Buffalo and All Them Witches are the trinity
if you EVER get the chance to see Elder live. DO IT! I saw them back in Aug. in a little club that held about 250 in North Carolina and it was amazing. Insanely tight band and super nice. I chatted with them a bit after the show.
does anyone know if there is a recording of this performance that can be bought? was thinking exactly the same thing, I prefer this sound to the the album. More epic, more powerful and more melodic, more everything.
Can we appreciate, that maybe she took him there? Maybe she heard 'Lore' and fell in love with Elder. And then she showed it to him and they went to see them together. Perhaps she's the Stoner Queen in the relationship. You don't know, I don't know either. ;-) Don't assume anything! Just celebrate their love for each other and for the allmighty Elder!🤘
Jesus. New to Elders music. Came upon them in my ever deeper delving of stoner/doom music (being a massive Black Sabbath fan). Ive been to many shows in my 37 years of life..... This looked to be one of the most impressively tight performances ive ever seen by a band that has become one of my favs without a doubt. I have got to see them live. That solo in Compendium was unfuckinbelievable! Nick is something else. Reminds me alot of a young energetic Jerry Cantrel (one of inspirations) and is defintiely on Jerrys level of playing if not better. Anyways Elder kicks ass 🤘
I remember my colleague inviting me to a concert in Moscow five years ago. He said Elder would be playing. I had never heard of Elder before, but after the first song, I became a fan of theirs right in front of the stage. Great band!
I saw these guys last August at The Earl in East Atlanta, Georgia here in the US and they were transcendent in that small venue. So wild to see them playing a massive open-air show in the same summer. Rock on, Freak Valley Festival!
I saw them down the street at 529 with about 100 people. Gotta admit I still prefer the older stuff, Dead Roots Stirring. Because that was my intro. But Halcyon was pretty great.
Dead Roots Stirring > Spires Burn/Release > Lore > Reflections of a Floating World - has got to be one of the strongest 4 album runs ever. Lore is basically perfect.
I said when Lore came out that someone big needed to take these guys out on the road. I am glad it came true, even if a few records later, and i am glad i got to see them open for Tool twice since the start have not aligned to get me to see them themselves. My 10 year old loved them as well. He told me liked them more than Tool, lol. Glad to see them building a slow steady and devoted following. They deserve it.
Seen them live twice now. Been my favorite band for about 10 years now and it took them about that long to finally play shows in St. Paul/Minneapolis. Best shows I’ve been to.
Been in love with this band since my friend suggested the song The Falling Veil to me in 2017. Still probably my favourite by them, if not Blind or Halcyon. Was a shame to see their last drummer left for whatever reason but the new guy (sorry I'm bad with names) is a perfect fit. What a fucking set, man. Great to see them getting the love they deserve here. The bassist looks hilariously happy to be holding a bass. I like how the drummer sticks headphones on for the outro of Halcyon. I guess that's for the synth loop that he's put on, presumably he's listening to a click to keep everyone in time for that. 10/10
If you watch their rig rundown their bassist is exactly how you described lol I like that they put him out front where you typically might see the vocalist

saw these guys @Psycho Vegas wow what a set highlight of the weekend fo sho. don't sleep seeing these guys live their music really takes you on a journey.
Funny to see that a "raw" sound from live bands seems to be the new stuff for me. So awesome to see bands making sound with their hands and body and not relying o backtracks, i really enjoy modern metal and pop music, but its good to see a more 70's oriented kind of sound. Maybe thats why i have been listenong a lot of instrumental Jazz too.
this concert and their show at desertfest berlin the same year were the two best highs i ever had. something about the music just makes the mind absolutely fly under the influence

Elder are not underrated at all, their fans love them. They may be 'unknown' to many, but to those that count they are anything but underrated .
Preach!
This band is not of this universe....and they keep getting better. For me, Mike is the unsung hero.....he fills SO much melodically.
I truly believe they’re the best band on the planet right now. Nothing comes close to this and the new album.
close second to Wheel
False. King Buffalo
New album rocks
@@tylermoulton7294 Maybe a Holy Trinity with All Them Witches.
@@betofme yes love them
I'm so damn STOKED to see them in February 24 with TOOL!
I saw them last night in Charlotte with Tool, amazing. I think they only played like 3 songs though.
I'm really hoping they play Dead Roots Stirring when I see them@@joecoleman288
I'm seeing them and tool tonight. 😵💫🍫🍄

"Halcyon" is such a killer track. NEVER gets old and live it's a blast.
What a solo at the end.
Both times I've seen Elder live, they closed with Halcyon. The ending is like a religious experience.
@@mdp720 I agree 💯
@@mdp720 In my case the back half of the set was Dead Roots Stirring - Halcyon - Sanctuary back to back. Jesus.

King buffalo and all them witches are pop radio garbage compared to elder. REZN smashes em both with ease
@tylermoulton7294 amen brother
Be Happy to have all these bands to listen, music Is not a competition, let this shit to the x factor' s people
Saw these guys open for Tool in Biloxi in January this year. They were fantastic live.

this mix is insane. love that you can hear the tele tones & SP404 samples coming through
yeah, it's unusual to hear telecaster in stoner, doom, prog rock!
amazing job jesus christ
No joke I wish every concert could be mixed this well, vocals, instrumentals, just insane clarity
@@Boog609 same. whoever did the board for this vid was right on the money. it made me instantly look up Elder's other music/videos/tour dates

What a band! That final riff from Halcyon is monumental!
it's so epic
It is, and with the extra lead stuff (and fantastic recording) this is the best version I’ve heard.
