Institutionally racist and has always been. This is one example that has made the headlines. God knows how many people have gone through this trauma over the years. They have made this innocent man’s life for no reason what so ever!

I’m a pre-registration pharmacist who reported a fraudulent prescription written by a prescriber. She had a relative in West Midlands police and I got charged with harassment after replying to two missed calls from the receptionists of the dental clinic. Remanded in custody for 6 months. No investigation done, no phone call recordings or cctv or prescription log records retrieved from the dental clinic (receptionists both said I was abusive). The judicial system gave me a choice, my freedom or integrity. Convicted, career destroyed and all for doing my job.

Imagine you work hard all your life, do good in school and get to achieve what this man did, probably very good at his job and then this hits him. I would probably be treated on a psychiatric ward if I had to deal with all this. Such a shame, you can see the deep sadness in his eyes.
Good that you came on the show Dale and shared your story. I am sure who knows you closely they know what kind of a person you are. I really hope you can get over this and you should be able to get back to your lovely life you had before. And hopefully, they will come forward with an apology and make things clear for you.

I am curious about the amount of the settlement.
I'm not a lawyer but if I were him, the minimum settlement would include:
Lost potential wages (including any ancillary benefits) that would have beem reasonably accrued given the career trajectory that he was on. This would be calculated for every year up to the settlement at the very least
Emotional and mental pain
Cost of seeking psychological help to navigate the undue burden placed by this phantom investigation etc.
I'm so sorry he and his wife experienced this.
Can you imagine how many other people have suffered this fate?
It was about £1m although that isn't enough in my opinion. It should have been at least £5m

Based on this interview and the trauma this man has experienced I'm at a loss to understand why he settled. He should have taken this to trial to find out what information the police are hiding.
True but they would have made his life even more miserable, dragged it out, and goodness know what else. Maybe he had no fight left in him.
I can understand why he wouldn't fight it because he feels it will be a losing battle, he's gone through alot as it as and to go through another nightmare of a trial is just mentally too much

Hope he is able to sue the Police, a friend's black boyfriend was a teacher in London had this happen to him all the time , he made a formal complaint she was targeted ,she was a teacher in sussex the Police were determined to cover their backs once they realised people were not helpless,so nothing has changed
I also had a negative experience with the police and made a complaint it took them 4 years to acknowledge that mistakes were made and yet they would still not apologise or give any compensation. They're happy to give me PTSD and other severe mental health conditions though.
How did you complain? I was convicted for doing my job as a pharmacist. Dental clinic who were writing fraudulent prescription reported me after I made an incident report. Charged with harassment after replying to two missed calls. No investigation done. Just believed their word.
@@mohammedasaf1992 The Independent Office for Police Conduct. I would warn you however they can be extremely corrupt as they make the police investigate themselves and of course they're not gonna find any issues.

He was a black man that did well and some people couldn't believe he could have legal had the things that he did. Some people have the belief that some black people should not rise to a certain level
The police did it under the "Proceeds of Crime Act", where contrary to legal norms the police can seize your property on mere suspicion of it being the procceds of a crime and burden of proof is on the accused and not on the police. So you have to prove yourself innocent instead of them having to prove you guilty. Its a fked up law and the UK forced other countries in the Caribbean etc to adopt it.
So you're a factory worker and won a fancy car in a bingo or was gifted a fancy car by your man, years after police nabs you, so good luck in proving to the court how you got it...

Court proceedings are very laborious, costly, and stressful. Sometimes, the fight isn't worth it, especially if it compromises mental health. The man is suffering from PTSD.
