I have a massive issue with the standing daily charge I don't use much electricity so for me standing charge is a rip off

Busy mom of 2 ‘I work and if we have survived the day, the thought of going on to my energy site, remembering passwords I’ve forgotten, it all feels like too much’
Martin Lewis: ‘How long did it just take you?’
Busy mom of 2: ‘3 minutes’
But she found the time to go on GMB to find it only takes 3 mins. Classic example of you find time for the things that are important to you 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’ve been an Octopus customer for years, after moving from EDF. Imy property is all electric. I’d class myself as a moderate to heavy user, just under 10000kw per year, 27.5kw per day. I’ve just moved from their ‘standard variable’ to their OE-fixed-12M, saving me £74 per month. The charge per kWh or btu was substantially reduced, the daily standing charge, increased!

I'm all electric and on tariff "EDF Ensure Jul25" it is fixed. I wanted an Economy 10 Meter as I can't get a Smart Meter due to no signal. I probably would have tried Cozy Octopus but it relies on a Smart Meter. No one will give me an Economy 10 meter either. Still getting hammered with Standing Charges though.

Try doing a British Gas 12 month fixed rate and doing it via an internet cashback site. I just saved £197-00 per year (based on average use) compared to the OFGEM 1st October tariff.

Could the move to a 12 month fix right now backfire, particularly if you are a light user, because if standing charges come down in the interim, you will not benefit from them, and end up paying more, even accepting that unit prices are estimated to be about the same in 12 month's time?

Please note the co immediately without conditions.which meanies are compelled by law to charge the lowest possible tariff on ll media channels including the internet, without barriers or conditions for the blind adults in the UK.
The regulator needs to fine this week the abuse they are handing out to the blind who cannot fill in forms or use comparison websites... They are recognized as not market competitive due to disability which is why they automatically proactively transferred to the lowest tariff

    Dear Martin,
When you say the price cap going up January onwards due to Ukraine and ME!
Are you saying that the troubles will continue in both Ukraine and ME?
Obviously no one can tell after one week what would happen. Based on this how come since Covid started ‘till to date in winter the price goes up and in summer the price goes down and based on what the future 9 months prediction by the energy companies?
I understand very well the mechanism of “supply and demand” relating to private sector, but in this case, I think the government are involved in this scheme.
