Let me know if you’ve got an idea of what this might be before I take it back to the dealership and what solutions you suggest? Thank you in advance Hopefully Mercedes Benz Corporate will take notes from our experiences & stories and make it mandatory to have cargo van service specialists at all dealerships if they sell vans.
You dont want to service those at the dealer. Find a good diesel mechanic that works on cargo vans. Talk to other cargo van business owners for local shops
@troypollonais9143 Thanks for sharing, you are correct. Unfortunately the one guy in town is now out of business due to the economic downturn caused by Covid. I’ve noticed many local shops are closing down and all roads are leading back to the dealerships. The good thing is whoever out the in the world will find this thread and no they have the local shop option.
Honestly, I like those sprinters, but you have to buy one before they started the one that the def blue stuff my older ones usually never let me down. They just get slow.
@MrDjluis95 absolutely when it’s good it’s good. I’m staying positive about this situation because I was saved by another dealership that specializes in sprinter vans an hour away. I’ve heard many times the older sprinters were much better. Hopefully in time as many people discuss their troubling experiences it will be better. The lead tech at the dealership just sent me a message stating that I got to get back to the shop so they can run a smoke test to pinpoint if it’s the DPF , Catalyst or adblue injector.
Thanks for sharing @thefinalroman. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, yes it’s a diesel. I’ll mention that to them when I get to the dealership. The lead tech at the dealership just sent me a message stating that I got to get back to the shop so they can run a smoke test to pinpoint if it’s the DPF , Catalyst or adblue injector. I’ll keep everyone posted to save time & money for the next man & woman.
@igotaction you were right on the money. Thanks a lot! The dealership just informed it was the adblue injector. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and hope this thread helps the next cargo van or woman on the journey.
That's the DEF injector, the clamp is loose or broken. But don't idle the car a lot, it's terrible for the DPF. It's a Bosch DEF injector and they are about $200 on FCP Euro. I rebuild BMW and Mercedes engines, including diesels, the person is correct that's the DEF (urea) injector. Depending on the miles and how much crystallization is around the injector you probably just want to replace it, and get a new clamp. Takes 20 minutes to replace.
@igotaction you are right on the money. Its the adblue injector. Not only did your advice help me, but will help many others in the future. I was told today at the dealership that you want be notified by the system of this leak which is strange. So you got to keep an eye out of whats going on with your vehicle to avoid a costly bill.
So, the numbers you post for orders, is that net or so you have to pay the order out of those funds? If you do pay for orders out of it, you are netting about $10-20/order. Am I on the right track? This type of thing can be done from a car couldn't it? Much lower headache than dealing with maintenance on a van AND a lot more profitable (especially with fuel). I imagine it would be pretty difficult to recoup your investment within a reasonable amount of time. Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to figure this out
@JustMarco50 great question, apologies for the late response. I've been in and out of town getting my truck fixed. I wanted to make sure I took out the time and answer your question and not just give you a rushed answer. 1. Yes, I pay for the orders and shopify payout 1 to 2 business days later. 2. It really depends. Ok so lets say something cost $5 well I'll charge them $10 plus my delivery fee ranges from $4.99 to $6.99. Now here's the awesome thing my clientele tips very well. Tips ranging from $2 - $50. People love great service & someone they can trust to take care of their problems. 3. Oh yea Mr @JustMarco50 you are 1000% correct I started my delivery service in my car, which was paid off so I was making bank, but things happen. My car was totaled and I got a cargo van because if you are really good at something people are going to ask what else do you do. And request come in like can you deliver my children bikes, 70 inch TV's & more. 4. Not difficult at all to recoup, I got another 2 years maybe less to pay this off because I have good clientele. Trust me, If i can do it in my marketplace you can do it in your marketplace even with DoorDash, Uber Eats & all the other services. They aren't special.
Perfect. Thanks. This is exactly what I was trying to figure out. I'm thinking the best route for starters is in a large car or van and build from there. This would be ideal for a small town
@JustMarco50 you are correct. Im in a small town myself & I'm telling you many people have problems, and if you can position yourself you can dominate your market. Wishing you all the success. I be posted more once I get back in town.
@@JustMarco50 to add to this the best route is to advertise, advertise, advertise your business so you can build up your clientele. Thats the most important thing
Thanks @jamespotts2656. At the time that was the best option. I never heard of freightliner, I’ll have to look into them. Are they better than Sprinter/ Cargo Vans?
@jamespotts2656 you are speaking my language. I’m not sure why they don’t have those in my market. This thread will help the next up searching for a reliable money maker. Do you have a freightliner channel?

@ yeah I usually put like half 1 million my 2018 sprinters money pits lately
If it's a diesel could be a blocked particulate filter

@@wifimoneyinasprintercargovanyou don't need a smoke test, you can hear and see it at the end of your video, it's the DEF injector.

Why get a diesel? Why not freightliner
