Oh. Mi. Gawd. I almost feel like I’m 15 again back in 1970. Always loved Mama Cass, her style, her humor, her singing and that beautiful face. And I adored Mister Ray back then as I do today; I have been a fan since ‘69, half a century! Right now I’m torn between laughter and tears.
We never got to see the Ray Stevens Show here in the UK so we missed all of these wonderful performances- only taken 50 years for us to finally catch up! Thanks for posting
O my gawd!! I'm 8 years old again! Thank you for this beautiful visit to the past. I'm gonna go get myself a moon pie and and a Coke and watch it again!!!
I remember the Mamas & Papas Monday Monday was a favorite. Wow you were young then lol I have never seen any of this before, Never knew mama Cass did so much on her own....Thanks for showing us all of these shows... Happy Trails to you Ray
Why this once on a lifetime talent never made it to Broadway I'll never know. She had talent and charisma by the bucket load. Thankfully we have all these wonderful clips to remember her by and all her truly amazing music. You may be gone Cass but you certainly won't be forgotten as all these comments prove.
She was a monster talent and a beautiful woman who adored her child. She likely lost her life to the fact that she was starving herself to try to lose weight. The constant comments and ridicule regarding her weight must have been unbearable. As a lifelong chubster myself, I am so sorry Cass. People suck.
Not just clean humour, but non political. And not just non political, not pushing any one side of politics. That's pretty much unheard of now, and such a breath of fresh air.
Before there was The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and before there was the Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show there was The Ray Stevens Show which was a summer replacement show all of them created by Allan Blye (who was also a writer on the Andy Williams Show where Ray got his TV start). This show, like Blye's 1980s comedy classic Bizarre was filmed at CFTO-TV's Studios in Agincourt (Toronto) and both had Billy Van as a stock company player (as this clip shows). Must have been amazing for Billy to work with Mama Cass.
If you look more closely, you’ll see that those are three actors _representing_ Papa John, Michelle and Denny. I seriously doubt that they’re singing on the track, but don’t really know.
Wow! All I can say Ray. Are these shows in syndication anywhere ? So sorry I missed these as a kid. I probably wouldn’t have appreciated them as a kid, then, as much as I do as an adult now. WOW.
The one I want to see again is Mama Cass running across the stage with a fake volcano erupting in the background. I've looked at everything and haven't found it yet.
Hopefully one day they will release The Ray Stevens Show on DVD or Blu Ray. If they already have it out, I can't find it. It will be sad beyond words if its never released for public sales. Ray is awesome and had really great guests! I just can't recall if it lasted one season thing or two or more.
@@musicfanhawk4523 Right. Those days a successful variety show was on 39 weeks, including reruns. The other 13 were filled by "summer replacements." I think Sonny & Cher began as a summer replacement and then it took off.
I wish l could see the whole clip of "Save the land"...Cass was the only one who could sing it better than its author: Laura Nyro. Cass had a powerful voice and great pronunciation of words.
I can truly watch and listen to Cass Elliot all day. Brilliant artist.

A wonderful woman. God bless you Cass. You still make people happy.

What great talent. Love this video of her talent and variety.
Hello Judy
How are you doing today?
My momma loved her, she always played her and Ray Stevens. 😍
This is another nice video clip of an attractive and very entertaining talented lady.
You can tell Ray adored mama Cass, they were cute performing together!
What a total hoot!! Thanks for uploading. I adore Mama Cass. I had no idea she was SO funny. Makes me love her even more. This show looks cute, too.

We loved Mama Cass. Just think how many concerts etc. could have been done had she not passed so young.
Thanks Ray!!!! Luv Cass like crazy

This show was brilliant- Cass Elliot, Guess Who, Lulu ans Steve Martin
It seems as though those who are the most talented leave us way too soon :'(
I love the sound of her voice.
I’ve not seen most of these before. Thank you for sharing!!

Hello Betty
How are you doing today?
Great compilation
She did so much in her short life. She had an amazing talent and was witty and a funny comedy actress. Very interesting and intelligent
I love Mama Cass
I remember her when I was a kid and now I am 64 years old now.
💖💯🤩 Amazing Cass Elliott.
Hello Catherine
How are you doing today?
She was a real show stoper one of a kind!
Great singer and a great personaliy. She was great.

Hello Suzanne
How are you doing today?
When she says " thanks I needed that"....
Fantastic, thank you :)
Wow those were really the best of our America back then. I wish this generation knew how good it is to be able to laugh. It was/is called clean humor.
Not just clean humour, but non political. And not just non political, not pushing any one side of politics. That's pretty much unheard of now, and such a breath of fresh air.
It's that beginning clip 😂😂😂😂
The best Singer of all time!
She had the best laugh.
Toujours aussi présente
❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕
Awesome Show
I did not know there was a Ray Stevens show.
I know all of her songs from beautiful thing
❤️
Such a great movie! When I first saw it in the 90s I was like 'OMG, they're playing Cass Elliot!' Then the neighbor girl came on and it was heaven.

I would love to see the full clip of United We Stand with Cass and Lulu. Must be incredible! (0:23 for like 2 seconds)
Here it is! th-cam.com/video/MkMslK2jonA/w-d-xo.html
Cass era maravillosa. Lo que habría sido de ella de no morir tan joven.
La dupla que hacía con Lulu era notable.
Somehow I seem to remember a segment from the Ray Stevens show which had Cass and her former Mamas & Papas partners singing California Dreamin'.
I saw it on 5:25. This shows I have to wait before I post anything.
If you look more closely, you’ll see that those are three actors _representing_ Papa John, Michelle and Denny. I seriously doubt that they’re singing on the track, but don’t really know.
Thank you kindly for the birthday upload Sir Stevens.
Mama Cass. . . 💟🙌🙏 Much Love and Respect. *nod* to the patty cake reference Mama as I played who framed roger rabbit over and over....{···}
Any chance the full clip of Cass singing One Way Ticket could be uploaded? Or any of the full clips for that matter!
I can only imagine a duet with Cass Elliot and Karen Carpenter. Pure Heaven.❤
I often wonder where Cass Elliot's career would go if she hadn't died in '74. Broadway? Film? EGOT status?
i would pay moola for a DVD of the full lengths of all these videos! Or post them somewhere, please!
Wendy k
Totally agree

Are there any way to see all this clips the complete version?

@@ImTheDaveman it was on in the summer of 1970, a fill in for the Andy Williams show.

Elliott the best

She would've been soooo good on SNL!
I get irritated at how I get crushes on not just older women, but ones who have already passed away.
To think I saw a picture of her standing next to Jimi Hendrix!!
I don’t remember the Ray Stevens Show. When was it on?
In 1970 as a summer replacement for the Andy Williams Show.
A long time ago when the world and America still have thanks to God for All His Blessings!
Better than Lassie lmaoo
Christ I about choked on my bread stick.
Is there a full version of ain't nobody else like you?
Over weight women are more biased against than any other group, cass had class
Music when music was music ! Not like what they call music now days !
Y ahora las mujeres buscan mostrar su cuerpo o hacerse flacas para triunfar! Aprendamos de los años antiguos donde el talento SI EXISTIA
i wish i was an adukt back then.. it kills me i missed mama cass
