This is 7 years ago, unfortunately wargaming puts in so many overpowered premium tanks that this tank is pretty much useless. You can camp somewhere on the second line with it.
T32's turret is better + On the T34 even a tier 7 can pen the cupola, while on the T32 only tier X's can pen it, not all of them actually. And the IS-3's sides have spaced armour, while the KV4 does not, so IS-3's sides are better. The only exageration is with the S Pershing's hull. You can pen the lower plate with the Ap rounds of some tier 8s and in a tier 9 battle literally everyone can pen your hull.
I wish i could go back to 2015 and play that glorious IS-3 as the video shows. Nowadays IS-3 has weaker(st?) sides, lower plates all around the body and even the pike nose has become paper thin. So you are hopeless with the armour. Also the top turret plate has become a headache😂 WG, please do not destroy this glorious tank's reputation🙏
Funny how the guy says "it can't lose right? No, not by itself" well when I was using the IS-3 I was surrounded by tier 7's 8's & 9's so 9 nine tanks vs me at full health. Owning them all on a flat open ground no buildings to hide. Where was my team at the time either on the other side taking their sweet time. Best part was 35,000K damage blocked 200,000K credit and 2,000 xp. Now that's tanking.
first things first. I have not seen the video before writing this. Why make a vid showing how to play the IS 3 ? I mean you could simply post a screanshot or two showing how to press "To Battle"
IS-3 can pen KV-4 everyday, especially if you're using pay-to-win-rounds. KV-4 armor seem to be good, but IS-3 has this magical void in it's sides that can eat almost any round without taking actual damage. IS-3 is also far better in hull down position with minimal weakpoints (yes cupolas are weakspots but good luck to shoot such tiny thing especially form far). High alpha really punishes players and the gun do have good penetration even though it lacks it in tier X games. Accuracy? Maybe not the best but, hey, it doesn't even matter when the game is almost 50/50 about RNG so you can get some of the most unfair luckiest shot ever. So IMO IS-3 > KV-4
i prefer american and german heavy tanks over the soviet ones but i prefer KV-4 over IS3 because is-3 can't angeling its armor, if it does it will make it easier to penetrate while kv-4 doesn't have pike nose so it can angeling and increasing its armor anytime it needs.
+Lioco94 i think that 110 is stronger then is3. 110 have strong frontal armor and to me better gun 100mm and it dosen't have masive week spot on top of turret like is3 where is 40 mm on top of turret
+Paciat not rly you can replace IS3 but IS3 is still batter than every single 8 tier tank and I really do like IS3 becose it's also fun to rekt noobs in X tier with VIII tier xD with 110 you will have problems with X tiers and 110 is way worse on statpeding for players so it depends on your playstyle a bit but IS3 is still better in eSport.

what they dont mention is if u shoot in between the tracks where u see the Armour in the middle of the tracks it will pen and might ammo rack the is 3 LOL

IS-3 is vulnerable even when sidescraping. The enemy could shoot my exposed shoulder plates and the frontal armor is weak against tier 8s and some tier 7s. I prefer IS-6 because it has way better armor and nice gun though it has only 175mm of penetration. I just need to learn to shoot the weakpoints. I recommend it to people who have experience of such a gamestyle.

T34 has a stronger turret and KV5 better side armor

T32's turret is better + On the T34 even a tier 7 can pen the cupola, while on the T32 only tier X's can pen it, not all of them actually. And the IS-3's sides have spaced armour, while the KV4 does not, so IS-3's sides are better. The only exageration is with the S Pershing's hull.
