You did and excellent explanation of your new tractor. I will be cutting hay tomorrow and will post. Sorry I missed first place, I was out for a few days. Hope you and the family are well and keep safe friend.
We’re finally getting precipitation here! Hoping second cutting can turn around. Family is doing well and preparing for the county fair!
@@RockyAcresFarmstead Do you kids show 4H or FFA. what show animals if they do.
We show 4H. However, Both are too young to show 4H. This year they’ll be showing their dairy goats in the open classes.
I have the 5125R and it’s pretty similar. Wish it had IVT but it wasn’t available in the 5 series. It showed up and I had never used one so it was a learning curve. I’m installing the guidance in it for next spring.
Awesome! Did you see they took the 5R’s off the websitev
Great video, just a few things fluid in the rear tires does not effect turning, because of the short wheel base if you have the loader off you need front weights. Also because of the larger hydraulic pump it needs to run at around 1500 rpms or higher for best performance.
Really nice video you explained everything very well keep it up 👍
Thanks! Where you guys located?

@@SteerPointeFarms beautiful farm lands over there. Just went to mags head this summer. What I would give for flat ground like that!
O yeah It’s really really nice
Awesome video!!! Sweet Ride!!! What size tires Front and Back?
18.4x34 in the back and 14.9x24 in the front.
Do you have to clutch when you shift gears? Or, just push button? THx. Nice video.
No. There is a “deClutch” button on the gear shifter.
How does it do on def? How many hours does a full tank of diesel last you?
Full tank of fuel will last you every bit of 10-12 hrs at PTO RPM’s. 3 tanks of fuel to one tank of DEF. Haven’t had a REGEN yet either.
Does it have auto clutch? Do you like it? Are the range gears synchronized?
Yes. It has an auto clutch button. I’ve used it only a couple times. I like it but it’s jumpy with a load.
Yes. Synchronized gears.
@@RockyAcresFarmstead as far as being jumpy, is there an adjustment for that? I know there is on some
@@paulreed6340 not that I’ve found in the book!
With the declutch button, it’s either engaged or disengaged. It’s def something you want to use while moving quickly thru a field and not stopped!
Just a quick update the new 2023 5m have the 6m engine,at lest the 5095,5105,5120 and 5130 do.
Wow. Didn’t know that! That’s pretty interesting. They still redesigning the 5R?
are you going to get a Grapple for it?
No need for it at this time.
How many horse power is 5125m (max power)?
128.2
128,2 in 1600rpm or 2100rpm?

@@RockyAcresFarmstead 5125m engine is same as 5090-5100-5115 m??
👍
You should have went up to the 6000 series tractors I ran a 5000 series and it was too light for hay work and there is not much difference In the price the e series has almost as many features as the m series
I actually went and test drove one. I was close to buying one until I tried to turn it. It turned like a school bus. The 6e tractors turning radius is horrendous. That’s why I went 5M
To remedy that you widen the wheel base width, I had the same issue with my 6105e it was set narrow from the factory so I moved the inside dish of the wheel to get a wider stance and it allowed sharper turns, and a better ride, you might even try that on yours for better stability on hills. I also found I wasn’t running over as much hay with it being wider when I was cutting. Take care and keep the videos coming
Awesome feedback man! I wish I would have known that. When I did my test drive, it was painful how bad that thing turned! I didn’t give it a fair shake.
John Deere 6M that’s all I got to say
Hell, if money was no option, I’d be game!
Completely understandable. The 6M are just more capable.
For what I do and what I have, the 6 is just WAY overkill. If I was using heavy tillage (more than a chisel plow) I’d agree
