What's up folks. Today we will land on the aircraft carrier with the bear with canards, SU-33, Flanker-D. For many, he is the first DCS fighter that we can use to land on an aircraft carrier.
Anyone who thinks he is for beginners is wrong. Today, he already has a very updated flight model. Underestimating him could be a mistake.
So, today I bring you some tips to make landing easier. I separated it into two parts. The first, a direct approach using the ILS system. The second, an approach using a procedure very similar to that used in the F/A-18.
Take advantage and take a risk on this landing. Many years ago, when the Hornet didn't exist yet, I flew this fighter a lot. It was a great experience to fly him again to make this video, as well as being quite challenging.
Have fun, and don't forget to give your like and subscribe.
Thank you all. Until the next video!

Some good info here. Easy to learn, easy to understand, easy to put into practice.
Many thanks man. Appreciated 🍻😉😎
Very nice and simple tutorial on Su33 carrier landing, I am going to fire up the Flanker and do some landings tonight. Thank you.
Many thanks man! You will like him. His flight model has improved a lot over the years. We can feel that he is a heavy fighter. Appreciated! 👏😉😎
Hey, good video. Good gouge on the circle thing. I was always thinking 300/200, sight picture and AOA. Makes sense. The plane really feels large. larger than the F-14. DCS conveys this pretty well.
Hey man, how are you? Oh yes. Until recently I thought the F-14 was bigger, but when I put the two side-by-side, became clear how big the Sukhoi is. Really, in DCS we can feel that its a heavy aircraft. Very well built, even though it's not full fidelity. Thanks man! 🍻😉😎
Never played around with the 33. Surprised that holding the navaid circles within each other doesn't greenlight the aoa indexer until the last possible second
Oh yes. Its really strange. Also on the second landing, when we are on the downwind leg, we can't get the "on speed". 😕
Thanks man 🍻😎
@@nazguldcs I mean it is an AOA meter, just because you're locked at 260 km/s doesn't mean you're "on speed". I have not touched the flanker in a while, but I suspect the automatic ILS commanded speed is a bit rough, it doesn't take your weight etc. into account. I would try making the aoa meter green first, then get on glide slope with the correct rate of descent, and only then lock the autothrottle at whatever actual speed you will be at.
@@algroyp3r That might be it 🙂. Locking the autothrottle only after getting green might work. I also will try. Thanks for the comment man 🍻😉😎
And then theres me, rawdogging the carriers in a a4e-c, just jesus and me in that plane
kkkkkkk 😅 happens
I found the video of the Su-33 that inspired one of the opening scenes of my video. One of the first videos I watched on TH-cam in my life. Early 2000s that made me spend hours flying the Su-33 😁
Great video and awesome music 👏
