Thank you. Good advice. We went shopping in Ciudad del Este many times. It’s chaotic but one can find a lot of things. Unfortunately no official Apple Store in Paraguay yet. But i once had my battery replaced at an iShop in a mall in asuncion and thy did a good job.
I wonder if now that your iPhone has been already touched by a third party if you can go and visit a third qualified experienced party again. Maybe they can fix everything and much better than an official Apple store. Maybe then you can have a great time at the Blumenau Oktoberfest. What do you think?
@@jgonz260 thank you so much for your advice about this. Yea one would wonder if a third party repair store might have actually done a better job on this. The person who helped us with the logic board was in Porto Seguro, but we are far away from that place now. Finding someone else who can do a good job with phones is very hard, especially because it seems like no one what’s to give any warranty for the work. These devices are sensitive and we thought Apple would do the best job but they failed. Now we have a phone with two handicapt cameras, having that repaired would be great but risking more damage is also a problem. So we will have to see what to do next.
@@vsevoloda.2615 I thought import taxes are already the worst in Brazil, can it get any worse in Argentina? The video though is more about the Apple Store Manager not owning up to the mistakes they made and damages they caused, less about import taxes being high. I would not buy an iPhone in Brazil for that reason but I still expect Apple Store employees to do a good job, no matter the import taxes.
@@HaveYourADVENTURE the tariff here is about 100% so all prices start from 250% of the US price and can easily reach 300+%. Apple care coverage still works though.
Sorry for what you are going through. But I never drank the Apple Kool-Aid and never will. Go with Samsung or Google pixel for filming with your phone. I find support is a little better and you don't have to deal with the Apple Store BS. I should also mention I have always had Android phones with no issues, wishing you all the best of luck in your endeavors and maybe you all can film using Android and GoPro.
@@scottminshall6420 hey thank you so much for your good words. I am considering a change. Currently im too deep in the ecosystem, but maybe an experience like that makes me wanna change over. Who knows. Thanks again for following along.
@@Alexander-m3o1u thanks for your input on this. It feels like this could solve a problem like this but I dont think it’s quite that simple. Quality wise and price wise all the top phone brands are about the same these days. My experience here is more about the lack of accountability of the people working in this Apple Store. Ive had other experience with Apple Store employees that ended up replacing a whole phone when they realized they screwed up but that doesn’t seem to be the case in Rio. Samsung doesn’t even have many repair centers around the world. It’s all done by third party, but i wonder if a third party makes a mistake like this, would they just go ahead and replace your phone?
@HaveYourADVENTURE Don't buy any of "top brands' " phones then. It's as easy as that. For the last 10 years there's no difference between phones anyway.
@@Alexander-m3o1u so true, my phone was 8 years old when it went swimming with me. I didnt want to upgrade to a new phone coz it didnt offer a better experience yet. So i got a hand me down phone that is now 7 years old. I was thinking to wait another year to upgrade but i have serious storage and overheating issues. We use our phones to film videos for youtube and that does take a toll on them. So a newer phone would for sure fix these problems.
@@miguelceron5262 hey thanks for reaching out. Yea it’s a frustrating process. Apple has been very relatable so far but this experience was absolutely not expected. Especially because apple doesn’t want to live up to their mistakes. Overall i think if you compare the prices of top of the line phones, then android and apple phones have about the same costs. Some people even argue that apple is cheaper because they have a higher resale value. But when it comes to repairs, worldwide, way more people have android phones and so it is harder to get apple repairs. In the US that might be different. There is an Apple Store or tow in every bigger city. But yea, at the moment we are in Brazil and even now, hundreds of KM away from the next official Apple Store. Best greetings back to Texas!
My friend Samsung androids are the best traveling countries, get a 5G Generation and a Samsung micro sd memory 2TB and have peace of mind also get a industrial heavy duty case
@@miguelceron5262 i understand that Samsung offers good phones as well, i just dont understand what advantage i will have for putting in all the effort to switch to a different device manufacturer. I have lots of other devices in the same ecosystem and i would have to purchase all of them from Samsung for it to work seamlessly. It seems like an investment that’s doesn’t really make sense to me at the moment.
