      @ yea thanks for the suggestions. The process of citizenship has changed in 2024, thats why there might be contradicting processes out there. Yes in fact you can start the process of citizenship, after you have permanent residency. The citizenship process takes 3 years. So if you add it together, 2 years temporary residency, then permanent residency and then 3 years citizenship application. So if you start the process now, you should be a citizen within 5 years. The citizenship process got a lot more streamlined. If you have more questions about it, feel free to book a free coaching call with me about the topic. Link in the description of the video.

    How to calculate less than 12 months absence from Paraguay? Do you count from the last dates stamped in your passport or do you count from the date of issue of your temporary ID? For those who left the Country and had their documents mailed to them those dates are going to be different! So which date do we use to start counting the time absent from Paraguay?

    • @HaveYourADVENTURE
      @HaveYourADVENTURE  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      good question. I assume you are talking about the time between you getting your temporary residency and the permanent residency after the two year period. generally speaking everyone who has left after getting temporary residency and then came back after two years and applied for permanent residency has gotten it. so far there is no system in place at the permanent residency application process that can check when and for how long you have been in the country. so far it doenst seem like that will change much. so if you show up two years later and you want permanent residency you will most likely not have a problem. should there be a problem, then i dont think it would be something that an immigration helper cant fix for you. i hope my opinion here helps. if you wanna talk about it more in detail, feel free contacting me for a call with the link in the description.

    • @HaveYourADVENTURE
      @HaveYourADVENTURE  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@lucasbridges8082 citizenship in Paraguay is a whole different topic. It’s easy to get residency but citizenship is not such a straightforward topic. You are allowed to apply for citizenship in Paraguay just after living there for a few years but very few people actually get it. Paraguayans want to see you being integrated into the PY community with language skills and lots of connections. The Residency Helpers i know told me they cannot help anyone to get citizenship cause it is too hard. And be careful finding people who promise you otherwise.

    • @HaveYourADVENTURE
      @HaveYourADVENTURE  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@lucasbridges8082 I did some research in that regard and similar to the Residency process, there is also a new citizenship process and it has its positive and negative sides. Originally you needed to have your permanent paraguay residency for three years and then you could apply for citizenship. That process could have taken 5 to 10 years to complete. Now with the new program, you do indeed need to get your permanent residency first, and then live in the country for 3 years, so a total of five years now. But the new citizenship process is streamlined and only takes 2 years. So a total of 7 years from the beginning till the end. I hope that helped you. • @HaveYourADVENTURE
      @HaveYourADVENTURE  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vape42 good question, for permanent residency it is enough for you to do your week long vacations every few years. As for citizenship, i am personally not so familiar about the process. You can start the citizenship process after having had permanent residency for 3 years. The citizenship process will then take 2 more years. As far as i understand, there will be multiple stages you will have to go through in order to get the citizenship. How often you will then have to be in Paraguay for that, i do not know. The application process is different for each country. I have clients from many countries, who after years of trying to get Paraguay residency have not managed to do so. For citizens of some countries it is even hard to get a tourist visa to Paraguay and some countries are completely blocked. You might be fortunate enough to go through a simple process but its a good exercise for life to see that there are other people with different perspectives out there too

      @@HaveYourADVENTURE I disagree. You make some exceptions the standard; otherwise, your title would have been different. For people who migrate to Paraguay, it's easy in 99% of the cases, especially with a good immigration helper. I know what I'm talking about; I deal with this for newcomers on a regular basis.

    • @HaveYourADVENTURE
      @HaveYourADVENTURE  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@john.roordink well then we have to agree to disagree. I have coaching clients, even from the US who have a hard time to get Paraguay Residency. Sure if you have everything in order, then it’s easy, my process was fairly fast but that is not true for everyone. Some of my clients are straight up banned from coming to Paraguay. For example try getting a residency for an American citizen with Chinese dual citizenship and birth certificate from china. Or what about people from India or Pakistan? They are having a hard time even getting a tourist visa. If you count only people from the US and Europe, with every document perfectly in order, sure then it is easy, but you clearly haven’t watched my video and just wanted to make sure someone who might not get the residency with you has no way to get good information. So maybe next time either watch the video or give the world the decency of just being quiet.
