I thought it was kinda weird why I got a lot of message from the girl characters while I didn't get any from the male characters...... -_- (I picked Caelus so...)
Some people got March as Stelle and Dan Heng as Caelus, so I don't think it's a matter of mc gender. It's been some days since I played that part of the story so I'm not sure, but I think it's more because of a dialogue or an action we choose to say or do before that scene that determines who will greet us; or maybe it's completely aleatory ?
actually, it doesn't matter if you chose Caelus or Stelle, it matters what dialogue choices you make during prologue. if you're complimenting March and act all gentleman, you get her to greet you, but if you're more cold and distant, like Dan Heng, you get him. i got Dan Heng greeting me, playing as Caelus. and it's way better than just giving us a companion based on mc's gender.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that whichever gender you choose at the start of the game, it will always be Dan Heng, who tries to use CPR on you

I don't know if Mihoyo actually intending to make MC self insert or not according to who first greeted us like in this video But, MC and FMC alone have different personalities. If I didn't play the game, I might even believe if someone said they are twins But then, I remember other characters from Mihoyo another games that only lack names and voices like Captain from Honkai Impact and Rosa from Tears of Themis Those "self inserts", Stelle and Caelus actually only a step away from being full fledged characters, they don't feel self inserts at all

This isn't based on gender. This is based on the dialogue option you get when you meet Himeko for the first time and she asks what you think of March. If you pick the dialogue option that coencides more with March's personality, she waits for you. If you pick the dialogue option that coencides more with Dan Heng's personality, he waits for you. I picked Caelus as the MC and Dan Heng waited for me to wake up.
Doesn't really matter on gender, mostly on your choice beforehand. I chose Caleus, yet Dan Heng appeared when the trailblazer woke up after this mission, and not March 7th.
I tried to be cold unfazed guy in most of the choice, then I got danheng, I played as caelus and thinking if some of my choice is kinda rude, but seeing I got danheng, I felt no remorse, I like march, but danheng is bae :3

This isn't based on gender. This is based on the dialogue option you get when you meet Himeko for the first time and she asks what you think of March. If you pick the dialogue option that coencides more with March's personality, she waits for you. If you pick the dialogue option that coencides more with Dan Heng's personality, he waits for you. I picked Caelus as the MC and Dan Heng waited for me to wake up.

Doesn't really matter on gender, mostly on your choice beforehand. I chose Caleus, yet Dan Heng appeared when the trailblazer woke up after this mission, and not March 7th.
