Failing isn't bad it makes you stronger to do better. We all fail at some point at something. Nobody is perfect. And I feel it maybe embarrassing to be on a video but actually it means they've got balls to be embarrassed to help others learn.
When I took my test a police officer honked at me while turning at an intersection. For the rest of the time I was petrified and thought I made a serious error. Once we returned to the DMV, the first thing my instructor did was solemnly turn to me and ask why I thought the police officer honked. I just sat there terrified at the prospect of failing. After a brief pause he broke out into a huge grin, and explained to me that the police officer was a friend of his trying to mess with me during the test. I was so relieved yet so angry.

But on the other hand there’s many situations on the road that could make anyone nervous and if you can’t handle a little bit of pressure and be able to drive safely even while nervous then you probably shouldn’t have a license. It’s not safe to lose your focus in bad situations on the road you have to be able to still think clearly especially in the winter when it’s icy and snowy out ya know?

Sometimes when you're sure you've failed, you've actually passed and are just being too hard on yourself, and that is the most amazing feeling when you find out you were wrong.

mydogeatspuke happened to me, the speed limit sign was hidden behind a tree and was going 15 over as I went past it. I braked hard enough that it was only a minor thank god
@@samuelbaragwanath1570 a lot of people don't realise they're not looking for perfection on your test, just safety and awareness. You realised quickly that you'd made a mistake and corrected it, and that's enough for them. Obviously you should have known from previous signs or road markings that the limit had changed, so it's still a fault, but everyone makes mistakes! I got 10 minors on my test, fluffed up a reverse park, and it was the worst I'd ever driven and I was sure within 5 minutes of starting that I'd failed. I even asked the examiner if he was sure he wanted to pass me, I thought I was terrible. Performance anxiety is a cowbag. We mess with our own heads! I'm a really good driver a few years on, no accidents and park like a pro. Practice helps with confidence, and you forget you ever felt so awful about yourself.

My driving instructor grabbed my wheel once, because I misunderstood him and wanted to take a different roundabout exit. Scared the living shit out of me and after that day I changed him. He legit injured my wrists how hard he was steering. It wasn't even that big of a deal to take the exit he didn't mean for me to take, just 5 mins additional driving.
@@PivotDXer my instructor grabbed the wheel once, because she thought i was driving too close to a parked car, even though i could clearly see i wasn't, but i guess she wanted to keep a bigger gap, even though i could clearly see the car was empty. She seemed to be really jumpy anyway and i didn't really like her. Luckily most of my driving lessons, i had a really cool male driving instructor who let me drive a lot and even offered cigarettes (i was a smoker back then) and in general was a really cool guy. I passed my driving test first time with the only negative being my awareness of pedestrians/cyclists in intersections (just a minor thing, i think he had to give some criticism). Was a different instructor in the test itself and the car was a horrible Toyota Corolla 1.9D 2002 with a tendency to stall. I didn't stall it once in the driving test obviously. I've had the cool male instructor since in my taxi as a customer actually a few times and he always gave me positive feedback about my driving. Now i know my faults these days (after driving nearly 18 years, with 15,5 years of that as my profession), i'm impatient, aggressive and in the winter i drive without stability control or traction control, because they just get in the way. I also speed all the time, except in town/city where the speed limits are strict for a reason. Yes i also sometimes have a bit of fun in the night on ice/snow when there's no traffic... Yes i drive a BMW 3-series xDrive. It's also black. My positives are i always let everyone else know about my intentions by using the turn signal (you have never seen a BMW use turn signals like i do, i've even managed to wear them out in one of our BMW:s, had to change the turn signal bulbs) and i always merge properly and i have strict lane discipline and obey the other rules such as who has the right of way, maintaining distance to others when changing lanes, always looking over my shoulder before changing lanes and i always try to keep others in mind by giving others space and parking properly. Overall however others probably judge me as a reckless typical BMW driver in traffic (which i probably am). I drive too much to care about the opinion of others really these days. I've lost my license once back in 2007 due to speeding when overtaking an another car which was doing 40km/h in a 60km/h (i clocked 107km/h when passing, i lost it badly after driving behind them for a good while, there was no other traffic, except the police far ahead who turned from a roundabout to the road i was overtaking on). Ever since i haven't gotten any fines. I've driven now for almost a million kilometers. I'm Finnish and drive in Finland. In my opinion we have it very easy here, very clear roads, lanes, signs and easy logic in traffic rules and road infrastructure. However winter brings its own challenges to people who don't have much experience/don't care about driving making it annoying for more experienced people having to maneuver around their slow unsafe driving constantly.

My first ever driving lesson my insructor was so confident in me that he made me drive on a pretty narrow road with 100km/h... Well i almost went offroad so he had to grab the wheel aswell :D i felt like i almost killed both of us LOL
I find that the main issue with driving lessons is that most people panic. I already got my driver's license but I wanted to practice on the highway with my instructor. When I drive alone, I'm very confident and focused but as soon as I drove with my instructor it felt like I didn't know how to drive yet. This was because I was nervous and he kept raising his voice at me. I think the most important thing for instructors is to remain calm, when the instructor panics then the student will panic
My instructor is like that too, but after 20 lessons with him, I had gotten a bit more confident with my driving then, so I began to talk back to him in the next 10 lessons. He was overly cautious and micro-managing, so I turned his haranguing into a conversation instead and laughed some things off when he felt not in control, to put him and me at ease.
yep, when I was learning I remember that only 1 or 2 times that happened and I felt like shit HAHAHA. But it happened because I was about to hit a parked car, for me it was hard to tell if I was gonna hit or not.
It happened to me today cuz i didnt straighten my wheel fast and there was a car behind, but surprisingly i still passed, she said it was a minor fault i was shocked 💀
IMO if she goes to try and pull away a 2nd time, examiner should intervene. first time you can let her get away with once. Serious fault for repetitive stalling. Poor car.
With practice you overcome that because the operation of the vehicle becomes so ingrained that almost all of your thinking is designated to situational awareness. You aren't thinking "what gear am I in?" because you are rowing through the gears as your speed is changing.
Rebecca Higson we’ve all been there If someone tells u he’s never stalled before well it’s pretty clear that he’s lying I first learned to drive a manual gear bike , its a bit easier than a car cuz u can control the clutch more with ur fingers than u do with ur foot , but I stalled dozens and dozens of times then I got ma first manual car thinking I can drive a manual car based on ma theory since I can drive a manual gear bike , and I stalled 7 times before I even got the car to move 2 damn meters ! Ive stalled in traffic I’ve stalled on a damn bridge during traffic time while I was going up and I almost rolled back hitting the car behind me But its just one thing I’m jealous off actually U guys have traffic rules and traffic lights and driving schools , Here we have none , we just learn right on the street which is pretty damn dangerous
It's a bit of both. We all learned to walk and ride bikes, we'd fall down or bump into things and fall down. Make mistakes that were so basic it was laughable to our parents.
Gotta remember just because you were acceptable for 45 minutes doesn't mean you're a good driver. You never stop learning, don't take it for granted because you passed a simple test
@@Mewhen12369 that's not that bad. Third is way worse. Many cars can actually comfortably start in 2. That's something people sometimes recommend when it's slippery outside, or snowy. Just try to not ever do it at a slight incline. But when you go down a hill second often is easier and works better than first
In Sweden it is enough that you have a green sign saying "övningskör" loosely translated to "practice driving" and it pisses the hell out of people for some reason
Honestly some of us are naturally good drivers. Like idk how you can be this bad. Well in the US we drive EVERYWHERE so you learn the road and rules simply by being in the car all the time. I knew almost everything I needed to be a safe driver when I was 12. Also I'm just good at controlling vehicles so that a plus.

Danish Rizwan Yeah but it’s pretty unlikely, just take it slow because you can get a minor fault for going too slow ( Being Hesitant ) but if you’re going too fast you’re more likely to either go over the speed limit or you’ll make a situation unsafe which is when they have to intervene
Well in your instructors car if/when you stall you should always turn engine off, apply handbrake and select neutral so she should’ve known these things

Im 22 and have had a license for years just never learned until now. Probably nerves for that girl, I feel terrible for her. Hope she gets the hang of it like am trying to do.
@@caracalcontinuum3118 I’ve been driving stick for 7 months now and have gotten pretty good at it, but sometimes at a light I’ll zone out and then stall it when I zone back in lol. Thankfully I live in a small town so most the time there is barely any cars behind me.
During my driving test a few years ago, the test was going smoothly until I reached a red light and stopped. I did not expect the green light to come up so fast as I have just stopped for a few seconds. I've forgotten to switch to the right gear before starting to move , causing the car to stall, I panicked. The cars behind were honking at me and I was so panicked I forgot how to even start a car properly. The instructor got angry and told me to switch seats, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, we switched on the spot, and he drove us back. It was the most humiliating experience of my life.
I've been driving for 6 years and have come to a complete stop at green lights at least 3 times in my driving career. One of which was in a police cruiser. So don't feel too embarrassed haha

@@ryszardlorenc7047 personally never used it, except for parking ofc. I’ve always loved to play with the clutch and gas pedals to keep the car still, between rolling down and moving forward. Yeah it wears out the clutch a bit but who cares lol

GUCCI PLUGS literally just started driving last week and I have never had my instructor or parents grab the wheel before. I drive 30 min to school everyday
I think fully qualified drivers who swear at learners are a disgrace. I know that the learner might of done wrong but knowing the instructor will tell them about it, it doesn't mean the other driver should be horrible. I'm understanding to learners we've all been in their position driving and its daunting for some people. I always let them through where I can and give them space.
They sometimes honk at you even when you do it right. For example, I was in slow moving traffic which didn't allow me to stop after driving over a pedestrian crossing, so I stopped before it. And the guy behind me started honking at me for no reason.
Same. In some places in America, you can do right hand turns on red lights and my instructor wanted me to be patient and wait for the light to turn green but the guy behind us was constantly honking so we were forced to go
@@agfd5659 Yeah. Some people love honking for no reason. I was once driving in the inner lane of a roundabout at the normal roundabout speed staying in my lane and signalling, yet the idiot behind felt the need to honk.
@@agfd5659 people literally honk for no reason like I was trying to make a left turn so I went to the middle of the intersection giving cars behind me space to go straight and waited for all the cars on the right pass me because they had the right of way before I could make a turn and the asshole behind me kept honking. Sometimes, people are just annoying so just go on with your day and ignore them. Honking doesn’t do anything.
When I took my first test, I committed a serious fault fairly early on (examiner had to brake in the middle of a T junction) and the test continued, I didn’t even get a minor fault after that - it certainly helps build your confidence completing the test, as there might be other things you need to work on for next time. Passed 2nd time with 2 minors, they felt slightly unfair but I agreed with the examiner

Pulled out of the test centre and asked me to pull up just after a blind junction, when pulling off an astra came flying around the corner as I was pulling off, he slammed the anchors on and I knew I failed, let me carry on and j didn't pick up a minor all the way around, passed 2nd time with 2 minors 😂
I discovered this channel just a few hours before my driving test. Just in time to give me the boost of confidence I needed to pass. Wish I stumbled across this a bit sooner, but I've still been watching this channel for months after my test. Thanks for the content!
Took my test 3 years ago, my instructor was always shouting in my ears, and I really just wanted to park the car, get out and tell him to fuck off, good thing I didn't, passed it flawlessly, tough love works sometimes
I remember well how complicated things seemed during my driving lessons: so many things to remember and do in a short time. Now, after 41 years' driving with a clean record and no accidents, I do all these things every day without thinking. Good old muscle memory is indispensable.
Happy that you have a clean record. I used to boast about mine, then got into a pile-up on the M40 three days before my advanced driving exam (I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and going over it with my instructor later he concurred it was just bad luck), but it did teach me to be more humble and even more observant than before. Stay safe out there.
Driving is just like anything else in life. You do it enough times and eventually what once seemed like a foreign language will be second nature like walking or running

I agree , they don’t care whether you are a learner or not , I think it’s soooo rude , they were once in the same position and should know how it feels to be a learner . So that middle finger was unnecessary and childish .
Watching these makes me extremely grateful for how easy my test was. Passed first try, but it was only 15 minutes on some easy backroads due to covid picking up in the area. No parallel parking, no roundabouts, and my instructors seemed more worried about covid than my driving.
I failed my first test. I drove well the first 30 minutes, but then my instructor had to hit the brake pedal and I drove really bad the last 15 minutes of my test. I just felt like crying after he hit the brake knowing I wouldn't pass my test no matter how good I drove after that. That was 7 years ago, now I can just laugh of it. Never give up guys. :)
When I did my first test 4 years ago I failed after 30 seconds cause I pulled out of the centre in front of someone, I then had to drive the 45 mins knowing I failed. To make it worse the rest of the drive I got no faults.
Omg mine was on his phone too!!!! I felt kinda scared. It wasn’t even for my license it was earlier when I was test driving and he just sat there on his phone while I had NO IDEA where to drive
This is very good. I am teaching family and friends how to drive in my spare time and one of the best things I would recommend is to have your driver say loudly what their next manoeuvre is going to be. This really does help their confidence and the instructors nerves as they work together. 👍
An experience instructor probably can. The guy who taught me could easily reverse parallel park into a small space within a few seconds driving from the passenger side
That's how I learned to steer, my dad let me take the wheel from age 16 to 18, when I was in the passenger seat, I'm sure this shaved of a few lessons, my driver instructor literally said that I had the car under control after a few lessons, but the only thing I had to work on was the insight and the view

Driving in the UK seems terrifying lol . I really feel for the panic they’re going through internally though . I failed my first time and just passed my road test in Ontario yesterday , it’s an amazing feeling .
@@rubeusignis1293 im from ontario as well, and agree that the roadways in these videos look pretty insane to me. mostly because the signage and types of junctions and whatnot are just so, so different. not intuitive to me in the slightest. the scale of everything is quite different as well, obviously european infrastructure is just much more compact and busy than north america. not a safe/unsafe thing, just quite different to what we're used to! i hate driving in the states because of the differences to home, but i could do it in a pinch. this video makes me certain i could absolutely never dream of driving in the uk lol.
I'm in America and it took me eons to learn to drive particularly because my parents didn't help me out for a while. Idk how I'd fare with a stick shift considering how long it took me.

@@fuju7871 I was born in 03 but i had pretty rough childhood i managed to come straight and got my drivers licence in poland few days ago the instructor that taught me driving was literally screaming at me if i did any mistakes it was a woman you could see she was a bit burned out by this job and i had no other chance but drive with her one day she told me i will pass it the first time i was suprised because it was the first nice thing she said to me when i asked why she said im the first guy that didnt even flinch when she was raging on the road when i was driving i made some mistakes but i was always focused on the road and didnt even care what she was raging about because i was so used to it
@@gcz2450 Good on you, I had a similar experience during half 2 of last year, practising with a old female instructor who never got tired of shouting. I only did 12 driving lessons though, 10 is the legal minimum here in Finland but I took a couple extra. Thankfully I passed with so little experience during autumn, even though some people drive 50+ hours and they still don't feel ready for the test. Driving on my own time with my license gives me a lot more confidence on the road so getting the school out of the way quickly was great.
Brad Van just goes to show how much more of a standard we have for driving in the UK, can you imagine our worst drivers are probably on par with your average skilled drivers in America. I don’t even want to begin to imagine what the bad drivers are like over in the states.
Yeah, most countries either have wider roads or magical signs which mean “don’t stop”, but it seems miniature UK roads haven’t taken the trend of huge ass SUV’s in recent years too well. That and people are idiots with no predictive capability whatsoever.

Fr, learner cars and bicycles. Yesterday I got ran over by an idiot in a BMW, who just entered the roundabout without looking and slammed into me. Best part, the dude legit gets out of the car with his phone screaming at me like it was my fault. Some people just shouldn't have a license
Still refuse to get my license because some days I just zone out bad at random times or pass out randomly. But I do know all the road signs and everything. So if I had to drive a vehicle when in a pickle I could. I like watching these to learn from their mistakes. I've actually noticed somethings I didn't expect could happen on the road, but now I know. I'm also exhausted now and gonna have a nap
It can get dangerous for sure but instructors are well experienced and have their own clutch and brake. A bigger danger would most likely be other drivers on the road
She was probably really anxious and wasn’t thinking straight, have some sympathy. When I’m in extremely stressful situations I start to get anxious, cant collect my thoughts and often forget things. But that’s probably the ADHD lol. Still though, she’s stressed tf out, be more understanding.
@@Mooncrest0 Exactly! Claudia deserves praise for putting herself out there in a manual car amongst traffic. We were all Claudia when we learnt to drive. I myself learnt in a Toyota Corolla and was able to drive it fine then when getting into a driving instructors Honda Civic and the Honda just kept stalling, I was just like Claudia at the start of driving the Honda. I could not work out why until I realised the Honda had to have its engine worked harder to take off then the Toyota. The only thing making fun of Claudia will do is make her want to give up. Clutch and gear control is the hardest part to learn by far in a manual and on top of it all cars are different. Any driver even a fully experienced one is more likely to stall a manual that is not their own as you get more use to your own car so if that was not her car that she learnt in that would not have helped either. Not that there is anything with going strait to an automatic but at least she is giving a manual a go. Learning to drive as a learner is scary, you know you are in charge of the big lump of metal that if you are not careful could kill somebody and of course this adds to the nerves. To be honest despite Claudia having two episodes of her driving causing causing constant engine stalling I think she held it together pretty dam well if you ask me. As a driver now if I saw someone like Claudia on the road I would sit well back so she didn't feel pressured and just wait and let her practice her driving.
@@Mooncrest0 I agree partly but would you be more understanding if her anxiousness led to a serious accident in traffic? Say she's on the side of a busy road and she needs to take off but hecks it up a few times, then finally takes off but in her "panicked" state forgets to check if there's cars coming or not. And kaboom! She is brave for letting herself be filmed knowing she has a hard time driving but that is no excuse for potentially causing an accident because you're nervous.

the only faults i commited in my driving lessons was clutch problems... i stalled here and there but i never really panicked or anything, instructor complimented me on having a "style" already, knowing the road rules and non rules. he focused me more on learning the clutch and left regular road driving aside. we went to mountain roads and stuff, it was fun.

Actually happened to me during my actual drivers test. But I figured it out instantly (after stalling it once) and still passed as I didnt block any intersection or end up in the middle of a lane or anything.
I did this shortly after passing my test. On a hill too... after the second stall I put it back in neutral and realised what had happened. It is possible to move off in 3rd gear if you give it lots of gas and baby the clutch, especially in a diesel... but you’re gonna be holding that clutch for so long and at high enough revs that it’s gonna be bad for clutch wear. Deffo wouldn’t make a habit of it!
@@rdu239 he wasn't there as an instructor this time..this was a mock test. Which means she learnt to drive and then she was to be prepared for the actual test. So this face is the same as what the examiner would make at her.
My instructor would have shouted profanities at that .. " Look at your gear , goddamit ! Your gear ! .. * sighs * 😒 you know what you're horrible at driving, lousy piece of .. 😒..

When I took my test a police officer honked at me while turning at an intersection. For the rest of the time I was petrified and thought I made a serious error. Once we returned to the DMV, the first thing my instructor did was solemnly turn to me and ask why I thought the police officer honked. I just sat there terrified at the prospect of failing. After a brief pause he broke out into a huge grin, and explained to me that the police officer was a friend of his trying to mess with me during the test. I was so relieved yet so angry.

But on the other hand there’s many situations on the road that could make anyone nervous and if you can’t handle a little bit of pressure and be able to drive safely even while nervous then you probably shouldn’t have a license. It’s not safe to lose your focus in bad situations on the road you have to be able to still think clearly especially in the winter when it’s icy and snowy out ya know?

You realised quickly that you'd made a mistake and corrected it, and that's enough for them. Obviously you should have known from previous signs or road markings that the limit had changed, so it's still a fault, but everyone makes mistakes! I got 10 minors on my test, fluffed up a reverse park, and it was the worst I'd ever driven and I was sure within 5 minutes of starting that I'd failed. I even asked the examiner if he was sure he wanted to pass me, I thought I was terrible. Performance anxiety is a cowbag. We mess with our own heads! I'm a really good driver a few years on, no accidents and park like a pro. Practice helps with confidence, and you forget you ever felt so awful about yourself.

My driving instructor grabbed my wheel once, because I misunderstood him and wanted to take a different roundabout exit. Scared the living shit out of me and after that day I changed him. He legit injured my wrists how hard he was steering. It wasn't even that big of a deal to take the exit he didn't mean for me to take, just 5 mins additional driving.
@@PivotDXer my instructor grabbed the wheel once, because she thought i was driving too close to a parked car, even though i could clearly see i wasn't, but i guess she wanted to keep a bigger gap, even though i could clearly see the car was empty. She seemed to be really jumpy anyway and i didn't really like her. Luckily most of my driving lessons, i had a really cool male driving instructor who let me drive a lot and even offered cigarettes (i was a smoker back then) and in general was a really cool guy. I passed my driving test first time with the only negative being my awareness of pedestrians/cyclists in intersections (just a minor thing, i think he had to give some criticism). Was a different instructor in the test itself and the car was a horrible Toyota Corolla 1.9D 2002 with a tendency to stall. I didn't stall it once in the driving test obviously.
I've had the cool male instructor since in my taxi as a customer actually a few times and he always gave me positive feedback about my driving.
Now i know my faults these days (after driving nearly 18 years, with 15,5 years of that as my profession), i'm impatient, aggressive and in the winter i drive without stability control or traction control, because they just get in the way. I also speed all the time, except in town/city where the speed limits are strict for a reason. Yes i also sometimes have a bit of fun in the night on ice/snow when there's no traffic... Yes i drive a BMW 3-series xDrive. It's also black.
My positives are i always let everyone else know about my intentions by using the turn signal (you have never seen a BMW use turn signals like i do, i've even managed to wear them out in one of our BMW:s, had to change the turn signal bulbs) and i always merge properly and i have strict lane discipline and obey the other rules such as who has the right of way, maintaining distance to others when changing lanes, always looking over my shoulder before changing lanes and i always try to keep others in mind by giving others space and parking properly.
Overall however others probably judge me as a reckless typical BMW driver in traffic (which i probably am). I drive too much to care about the opinion of others really these days. I've lost my license once back in 2007 due to speeding when overtaking an another car which was doing 40km/h in a 60km/h (i clocked 107km/h when passing, i lost it badly after driving behind them for a good while, there was no other traffic, except the police far ahead who turned from a roundabout to the road i was overtaking on). Ever since i haven't gotten any fines. I've driven now for almost a million kilometers.
I'm Finnish and drive in Finland. In my opinion we have it very easy here, very clear roads, lanes, signs and easy logic in traffic rules and road infrastructure. However winter brings its own challenges to people who don't have much experience/don't care about driving making it annoying for more experienced people having to maneuver around their slow unsafe driving constantly.

I find that the main issue with driving lessons is that most people panic. I already got my driver's license but I wanted to practice on the highway with my instructor. When I drive alone, I'm very confident and focused but as soon as I drove with my instructor it felt like I didn't know how to drive yet. This was because I was nervous and he kept raising his voice at me. I think the most important thing for instructors is to remain calm, when the instructor panics then the student will panic

My instructor is like that too, but after 20 lessons with him, I had gotten a bit more confident with my driving then, so I began to talk back to him in the next 10 lessons. He was overly cautious and micro-managing, so I turned his haranguing into a conversation instead and laughed some things off when he felt not in control, to put him and me at ease.

It happened to me today cuz i didnt straighten my wheel fast and there was a car behind, but surprisingly i still passed, she said it was a minor fault i was shocked 💀

With practice you overcome that because the operation of the vehicle becomes so ingrained that almost all of your thinking is designated to situational awareness. You aren't thinking "what gear am I in?" because you are rowing through the gears as your speed is changing.

Ive stalled in traffic I’ve stalled on a damn bridge during traffic time while I was going up and I almost rolled back hitting the car behind me

@@Mewhen12369 that's not that bad. Third is way worse. Many cars can actually comfortably start in 2. That's something people sometimes recommend when it's slippery outside, or snowy. Just try to not ever do it at a slight incline. But when you go down a hill second often is easier and works better than first

Well in your instructors car if/when you stall you should always turn engine off, apply handbrake and select neutral so she should’ve known these things

During my driving test a few years ago, the test was going smoothly until I reached a red light and stopped. I did not expect the green light to come up so fast as I have just stopped for a few seconds. I've forgotten to switch to the right gear before starting to move , causing the car to stall, I panicked. The cars behind were honking at me and I was so panicked I forgot how to even start a car properly. The instructor got angry and told me to switch seats, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, we switched on the spot, and he drove us back. It was the most humiliating experience of my life.

I think fully qualified drivers who swear at learners are a disgrace. I know that the learner might of done wrong but knowing the instructor will tell them about it, it doesn't mean the other driver should be horrible. I'm understanding to learners we've all been in their position driving and its daunting for some people. I always let them through where I can and give them space.
They sometimes honk at you even when you do it right. For example, I was in slow moving traffic which didn't allow me to stop after driving over a pedestrian crossing, so I stopped before it. And the guy behind me started honking at me for no reason.

When I did my drivers test if the instructor had to break or touch the steering wheel at all the test just ended
When I took my first test, I committed a serious fault fairly early on (examiner had to brake in the middle of a T junction) and the test continued, I didn’t even get a minor fault after that - it certainly helps build your confidence completing the test, as there might be other things you need to work on for next time. Passed 2nd time with 2 minors, they felt slightly unfair but I agreed with the examiner
I missed ONE right hand rule and didnt properly accelerate in the highway and thats how i failed.

Pulled out of the test centre and asked me to pull up just after a blind junction, when pulling off an astra came flying around the corner as I was pulling off, he slammed the anchors on and I knew I failed, let me carry on and j didn't pick up a minor all the way around, passed 2nd time with 2 minors 😂

I remember well how complicated things seemed during my driving lessons: so many things to remember and do in a short time. Now, after 41 years' driving with a clean record and no accidents, I do all these things every day without thinking. Good old muscle memory is indispensable.
Happy that you have a clean record. I used to boast about mine, then got into a pile-up on the M40 three days before my advanced driving exam (I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and going over it with my instructor later he concurred it was just bad luck), but it did teach me to be more humble and even more observant than before. Stay safe out there.
Driving is just like anything else in life. You do it enough times and eventually what once seemed like a foreign language will be second nature like walking or running

Watching these makes me extremely grateful for how easy my test was. Passed first try, but it was only 15 minutes on some easy backroads due to covid picking up in the area. No parallel parking, no roundabouts, and my instructors seemed more worried about covid than my driving.

Claudia Looks Pretty
I failed my first test. I drove well the first 30 minutes, but then my instructor had to hit the brake pedal and I drove really bad the last 15 minutes of my test. I just felt like crying after he hit the brake knowing I wouldn't pass my test no matter how good I drove after that.
That was 7 years ago, now I can just laugh of it. Never give up guys. :)
When I did my first test 4 years ago I failed after 30 seconds cause I pulled out of the centre in front of someone, I then had to drive the 45 mins knowing I failed. To make it worse the rest of the drive I got no faults.
wtf why is your road test that long?? the average time for a road test in the US is 10-12 minutes

This is very good. I am teaching family and friends how to drive in my spare time and one of the best things I would recommend is to have your driver say loudly what their next manoeuvre is going to be. This really does help their confidence and the instructors nerves as they work together. 👍

That's how I learned to steer, my dad let me take the wheel from age 16 to 18, when I was in the passenger seat, I'm sure this shaved of a few lessons, my driver instructor literally said that I had the car under control after a few lessons, but the only thing I had to work on was the insight and the view

Driving in the UK seems terrifying lol . I really feel for the panic they’re going through internally though . I failed my first time and just passed my road test in Ontario yesterday , it’s an amazing feeling .
Really? UK roads and drivers are some of the safest in the world. We have very few road accident deaths compared to most countries.
@@rubeusignis1293 im from ontario as well, and agree that the roadways in these videos look pretty insane to me. mostly because the signage and types of junctions and whatnot are just so, so different. not intuitive to me in the slightest. the scale of everything is quite different as well, obviously european infrastructure is just much more compact and busy than north america. not a safe/unsafe thing, just quite different to what we're used to! i hate driving in the states because of the differences to home, but i could do it in a pinch. this video makes me certain i could absolutely never dream of driving in the uk lol.

Edit: for everyone in the replies, I’m well aware she had it coming and needs way more practice, I just cringe for her when she tries to make light of the situation and it just goes silent. Just can’t bare any silence over 10 seconds, hence why I’d feel bad for any driving instructor that has to put up with me and my awkward small talk to fill the gap. This is the video that makes me nervous to sit my test so I really felt for all the people here

@@fuju7871 I was born in 03 but i had pretty rough childhood i managed to come straight and got my drivers licence in poland few days ago the instructor that taught me driving was literally screaming at me if i did any mistakes it was a woman you could see she was a bit burned out by this job and i had no other chance but drive with her one day she told me i will pass it the first time i was suprised because it was the first nice thing she said to me when i asked why she said im the first guy that didnt even flinch when she was raging on the road when i was driving i made some mistakes but i was always focused on the road and didnt even care what she was raging about because i was so used to it
@@gcz2450 Good on you, I had a similar experience during half 2 of last year, practising with a old female instructor who never got tired of shouting. I only did 12 driving lessons though, 10 is the legal minimum here in Finland but I took a couple extra. Thankfully I passed with so little experience during autumn, even though some people drive 50+ hours and they still don't feel ready for the test. Driving on my own time with my license gives me a lot more confidence on the road so getting the school out of the way quickly was great.

My cousin lives in America and visited Australia (Aus roads are similar to UK) recently and he said the exact same thing as I was driving lol.
Brad Van just goes to show how much more of a standard we have for driving in the UK, can you imagine our worst drivers are probably on par with your average skilled drivers in America. I don’t even want to begin to imagine what the bad drivers are like over in the states.
These UK roads are weird af. Cars parked in the middle of lanes and having to let one car pass at a time.
Yeah, most countries either have wider roads or magical signs which mean “don’t stop”, but it seems miniature UK roads haven’t taken the trend of huge ass SUV’s in recent years too well. That and people are idiots with no predictive capability whatsoever.

He doesn’t exactly risk his life, he has complete control over the clutch and brake, and can easily take over steering.
It can get dangerous for sure but instructors are well experienced and have their own clutch and brake. A bigger danger would most likely be other drivers on the road

She was probably really anxious and wasn’t thinking straight, have some sympathy. When I’m in extremely stressful situations I start to get anxious, cant collect my thoughts and often forget things. But that’s probably the ADHD lol. Still though, she’s stressed tf out, be more understanding.

@@Mooncrest0 Exactly! Claudia deserves praise for putting herself out there in a manual car amongst traffic. We were all Claudia when we learnt to drive.
I myself learnt in a Toyota Corolla and was able to drive it fine then when getting into a driving instructors Honda Civic and the Honda just kept stalling, I was just like Claudia at the start of driving the Honda. I could not work out why until I realised the Honda had to have its engine worked harder to take off then the Toyota.
The only thing making fun of Claudia will do is make her want to give up. Clutch and gear control is the hardest part to learn by far in a manual and on top of it all cars are different. Any driver even a fully experienced one is more likely to stall a manual that is not their own as you get more use to your own car so if that was not her car that she learnt in that would not have helped either.
Not that there is anything with going strait to an automatic but at least she is giving a manual a go. Learning to drive as a learner is scary, you know you are in charge of the big lump of metal that if you are not careful could kill somebody and of course this adds to the nerves. To be honest despite Claudia having two episodes of her driving causing causing constant engine stalling I think she held it together pretty dam well if you ask me.
As a driver now if I saw someone like Claudia on the road I would sit well back so she didn't feel pressured and just wait and let her practice her driving.

Say she's on the side of a busy road and she needs to take off but hecks it up a few times, then finally takes off but in her "panicked" state forgets to check if there's cars coming or not.
And kaboom! She is brave for letting herself be filmed knowing she has a hard time driving but that is no excuse for potentially causing an accident because you're nervous.

the only faults i commited in my driving lessons was clutch problems... i stalled here and there but i never really panicked or anything, instructor complimented me on having a "style" already, knowing the road rules and non rules. he focused me more on learning the clutch and left regular road driving aside. we went to mountain roads and stuff, it was fun.
i feel so bad for claudia, it doesnt look like shes had nearly enough practice, poor girl was trying not to cry :(

Actually happened to me during my actual drivers test. But I figured it out instantly (after stalling it once) and still passed as I didnt block any intersection or end up in the middle of a lane or anything.
Once during a lesson I had it in third gear but actually managed to drive off without stalling.

@@frlss9392 Probably had a lot of gas. Was over a year ago now, but he was impressed I managed to do that lol
I did this shortly after passing my test. On a hill too... after the second stall I put it back in neutral and realised what had happened. It is possible to move off in 3rd gear if you give it lots of gas and baby the clutch, especially in a diesel... but you’re gonna be holding that clutch for so long and at high enough revs that it’s gonna be bad for clutch wear. Deffo wouldn’t make a habit of it!

@@rdu239 he wasn't there as an instructor this time..this was a mock test. Which means she learnt to drive and then she was to be prepared for the actual test. So this face is the same as what the examiner would make at her.
